Maybe they will announce a Remaster for current year systems?
If not, PC players have more options if they prefer Yuzu.
xenia is in perfect shape. nearly no crashes, smooth gameplay, rock solid framerates. even on something like 1060 you can get by 1080p/35-45 FPS. something a bit better and you easily look into 60 FPS ranges. no apparent visual bugs or physics breaking at 60 FPS either.

this release is such a troll

So no PS5 native build. It could have PS4 and PS4 Pro modes and PS5-aware settings like TLOU2 (so it can be boosted), but I'll probably set myself for disappointment if I expect this lol. So I expect some combination of 1080p/1440p/4K at 30fps. At the very least they should have cleaned up most of the bugs that the 360/PS3 versions had, right? At least they'll give us that, right? Hopefully they put some higher rez textures in there as well. I mean they have to backup that price tag some way.

there are no high res textures. no 60 FPS. the trailer cleraly runs at 30 FPS. you would think the trailer would run the game at its best version/state. so none of them. textures are clearly the original ones. I'm not saying rdr1 has bad textures, outdated, but much better than most games at the time. but still, selling this at 50 bucks, at least a texture rework would be WELCOME.

Yeah i'm thinking it will probably be 30fps(hoping to be wrong).

It's probably aligned closeley to the xbox enhanced version, so they don't have to make an xbox version.

I would have bit with maybe a $30 native PS5 version with some remastered qualities, but this? Nah, too many other games to play.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
LMAO so not only this is a late and lazy port but also worse and more expensive than the current one on Xbox?

Looking through the screenshots, textures are definitely higher rez than on the Xbox versions, shadows and lighting look better too.

Nah.

Once they announce GTA 6 the hype train will begin. I just hope that's this year, the announcement at least. Doubt it though.
They can shove GTA6. Not gonna buy it. Should've released like 4 years ago, but nooooo. Rockstar chose to become greedy bastards and milk the shit out of GTA5.

Even Duke Nukem Forever released quicker since it was announced when GTA eventually releases.

Let that sink in.

Tag, you're it.
Yes I will defend Rockstar from a thread full of crying big ass babies who expect them to ground up remake this game while in the middle of GTA development 👍
And how about they release the fuckin game ON PC? You know, the platform fans are actually asking for YEARS?? But no, let's be ok with a Switch & PS4 release only . Great.
You can play RDR 2 on PC but nor RDR 1. You can play RDR 1 on Switch but not RDR 2. How does this make sense?

So this isn’t very logical right? UNLESS you have a remaster/remake coming out but not for those platforms and see an opportunity to capitalise on the renewed hype.

Any tinfoilhat rant why is it only ps4 and switch? :messenger_grinning_sweat:
Seeing as they did the bare minimum for those versions, I'll say that the Xbox already has the game available to purchasealready. And... PC? Well they are hoping someone will buy it on PS4/Switch and after 2 years they'll release the PC version and double (triple?) dip there as well.

Well, to be fair.

RDR2 dev started after GTA 5, or well, full development. Development was like 7 or 8 years? Because for sure they were already working a little on it even before GTA 5 came out.

I would like to believe it was all hands on deck for that game and a small team for GTAO. It came out in 2018. So it's five years after RDR2 this October. When you consider that and the rumors they went back to the drawing board at least once for 6.......

So this will be a barely functional piece of shit then. I’ll just hold on to my 360 discs and keep using them in my Series X.
They are a well regarded (in the industry) support studio. This is their first high profile release. So maybe hold your horses and wait to see how it turns out before making judgement calls about something you know nothing about.

Its not like they are asking you to preorder for special crap or anything.

Its a port running at native 4K with improved textures, shadows, and lighting. That's as much as we know now, if anything else was changed we don't know yet.

Sounds like a remaster if they up the resolution to 4K and make changes to textures, lighting and shadows. While barebones, at least some work has been done instead of just a straight port. But we'll see how the final product is, maybe more info will come later down the road.

I'd be more scared about T2 management, then the porting studio.
So what happens to the Xbox versions, do they get a price hike to match?

At least the Platinum will be easier to get this time without needing MP trophies. Had to organize trophy grinding parties back in the day for them.

Looks more like a remaster than a straight port to me based on the screenshots.

No way I’m in for $50 but for the definitive version of an all-time classic, I’d be in for $20-$25 if they did a good job bringing this over.

I think "enhanced port" is where this lies between straight port and full remaster.

Better run for the Xbox Store before rockstar raises the price to match up, the game and DLC are almost always on sale for cheap.

Modders patched in 60 fps in RDR2.

Meanwhile Rockstar is releasing 30 fps versions of PS3 game. This studio has 3000 devs btw.
This studio also takes more than 10 years to release a sequel to one of the most successful franchises in the world because their production process is a clusterfuck.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

You can find the game of the year edition, with all the DLC, physically (used) for less than $15 in various places. I shared this earlier, I use this store all the time.

They straight up said because it's already available via BC.

Can't really argue with that.
If it ends up looking better than the BC version, well, you can

Even at $50, more options is always nice

'Cause you can bet that there will be some diehard fan out there that only has a PC/Xbox, and not a PS4/PS5, and would want to play the best version

Bojanglez

The Amiga Brotherhood
modern PlayStation systems

? They at least better patch it to run at 60fps on PS5 via back compat.
