Update includes:

- fixing the day 1 unlocks not working (Note: there still appears to be some cases where unlocks do not appear, but the major reason for them not working has been fixed. We'll continue working on the other issues with the unlocks and get that out asap).
- Improved framerate hitching/dropping when artillery explodes
- spawn menu looping bug
- various crash fixes
- decreased AI MG accuracy for vehicle AI
- Added a system so outdated servers should no longer show in the server browser (so make sure and update so people can find your servers)

Came across this last night while testing out graphical settings and such. Pretty sure I pee'd my pants a little when I got closer to it and realized it was not a corpse leaning on an MG. Quite surreal to see him move about, like something out of a horror movie.

This game reeks of bugs and.... Just simply doesn't feel finished. And the crashes... God.

The AI is pretty laughable in single player too.

I'm starting to regret pre-ordering games. Please tell me there's tons of patches coming out in the near future.

Also im getting shit performance compared to the beta like alot of other people, nothing I do seems to help, even on low it runs exactly the same as it does on high (hovers around 30fps with drops) at the start of a match even going to iron sights lags..

Anyone have suggestions?

Just deleted all game content and configs ect and its redownloading while im at work
 
New patch came through this morning. It crashes on startup about 50% of the time. Sound in menus but no sound in-game. Framerate is shit. I can't believe I preordered this and Dead Island in the same week. I'm going to go play a book.

Ok, I'm hoping someone here knows a fix for this but I doubt it. Every time I start up, the game has me locked on high settings which I switch to custom and change accordingly from there. Then I restart like it asks and when I boot the game back up, the settings are back to high meaning I have to change them again and it does this over and over.

I deleted my config files and have no clue what to do since that didn't work.

stats are still not recording for me. EXP and honor doesn't save, nor am i getting stats for anything else. At least i can join a server now without crashing to desktop.
 
My stats are saving, my guns are leveling, and I have zero issues. As far as your settings resetting themselves, that happened to me some in the beta but just randomly stopped.

Any Gaf servers or a group of people actively getting together to play it? The community of this game is incredibly rude and defensive, some guy said Tripwire is the best dev in the biz right now and I laughed, the douchebag went on a ten minute rant about "how much of DICE's cock ive been sucking" and said Origin is a broken draconian piece of shit.

Funnily enough I've run into a lot of this too. There's always, like, one guy on the server who has to go MAN I AM SO GREAT FOR LIKING THIS GAME AM I RIGHT GUYS? Happens in every tactical shooter I play, I swear to god

I agree. Hopefully it will become what every other camping map becomes throughout history - relegated to shit. Sometimes you can't even crawl or run to the capture points because everyone is waiting for that single person to pop their head up and the tanks hardly help push.

Whenever it comes up I go Squad Leader and stick to the buildings to the side, taking out those who enjoy hiding amongst the rubble. The problem is for every 2 people I kill, I am highly likely to die and be pushed back to spawn. It is a very cool map to play as the Commander though with the artillery.

Play on the Kentucky Fried Gulasch server. It's well-populated, got a good rotation, and it's a goon server which is always a safe bet for online games. Also I've seen more gaffers there than anywhere else.

Well that happened to me in the beta, sadly enough I couldn't find a fix for it. You should post it at TW's forum:

It's pretty easy, bring up the tactical display - you will see badges saying attack or defend. These are your objectives, just get into the territory and you will see an indicator on the bottom showing the amount of soldiers each side has in the cap. Once you have a certain number of soldiers (more than the enemy) you start capping. You'll get points even if your territory gets capped when you are defending it.

i keep getting my ass kicked on that server though him still having a great time. i also have no idea where shots come from everytime i get killed.

of course i keep getting killed in general against people that kno what theyre doing since my line of sight is terrible when it comes to finding where i was shot from or looking for guys to shoot.
 
OK so just gave the new patch a short try - performance for me is much, much worse than before (X965 + 5850). At least I got my unlocks :(.

i'm getting a more consistent performance and 0 ctd's since the new patch, but my experience has been pretty dire tonight. why?

i have zero interest in playing a game which is engineered for the immersive, experiential qualities that ro2 so aspires to, wherein every other soldier is carrying some l33t new experimental superweapon. i'll let the fact slide that the mkb. 42 was never at stalingrad in return for some acknowledgement of just how rare a weapon this should be. give it a special "elite assault" class or something.

avts, svts, gewehr rifles, mkb. 42 rifles....these should all be elite weaponry, deployed to only the very finest players within that play session (how TW originally pitched the "hero" system, whereby the best performing players would be invited to per-session/round elite roles). even the regular assault weaponry should be more specialised in its deployment. tearing through previously tooth-and-nail balanced maps with a squad of assault rifle wielding commandos just feels so fucking wrong.

this was a battle (war, even) fought overwhelmingly by regular infantry armed with bolt action rifles. i feel like tripwire have fallen victim to their own most paranoid thoughts about what needs to be done to assure commercial success, and feel a need to offer up the assault rifle run-n-gun experience for all those who so desire it; to the detriment of authenticity, balance, immersion and idiosyncrasy.

there are a myriad of ways for tripwire to correct this, should they recognise it as a problem. until then, ro2 will only ever live in the shadow of its own greatness.
 
Has anyone really gotten the hang of adjusting for range as opposed to just aiming high as a rifleman? I still can't quite get a feel for it. Works wonders as a sniper, though.

I'm really bad at leading targets and compensating for range, still haven't figured it out, really.

Mostly I just try to stick to stationary, mid-range targets and leave running dudes to other teammates. Unless I have a semi-auto or automatic weapon, of course.

I'm running a 2500k and 570, both OC'd. I turn a few things off (ambient occlusion, blur, bloom) and turn stuff like shadows down a notch. Runs pretty smooth for me. Think the game is a bit under eight gigs.

You could just wait for the free weekend. Let them hammer out their issues in the meantime.

ok, so I turned off one frame laf and the game runs much better at steady 40-50 fps. It looks good and plays great. I think I'll play this over BF3 but who knows. I like it better than BF3 alpha at least.
 
I've got a new bug after the patch. Mapchange on Server = Game freezes

I need to tab out of the game and close it from the Task Manager.

I'm not playing the 'you guys just suck' card but I'm really not seeing the problem with FallenFighters. I've had some of my best matches there exactly because it really forces you to keep your head down and 'play your role'. I do always play Allies, generally, and abuse the tunnel system on the west side of the map which allows you to capture C and D without popping your head up.

So is this a case of playing on campy servers where people are more concerned with kills than captures, or are those complaining mostly playing Axis and the map is unbalanced?

The game apparently arbitrarily decides whether or not to spawn you on SL if you select it. If he's in "danger zones", whatever the hell that means, you won't spawn and it'll default to one of the static ones.

Am I the only one with horribly, horribly jerky camera while - being killed and waiting to respawn - I watch my squadmates play?
That really get me sick, I need to move to the "Roaming" camera every time to stop it.

I usually play as squad leader and my teammates seem to be able to spawn on me most of the time.

All day yesterday I kept thinking how over-powered the weapon was. The semi-auto mode is just as accurate as the semi-auto rifles if not more, and it shoots just as quickly if not faster.

I love the gun but I definitely agree it shouldn't be available to the Assault class.

Yeah, this is the first thing that has cast a doubt for me about the game when I was facing a team of elite assault rifles yesterday. Meanwhile, I sport a Mosin-Nagant with a bayonet. Doesn't exactly make for balanced gameplay. If Tripwire doesn't officially adress this, I'm sure individual servers will.

I haven't played a lot yet but my gut feeling is that the teamplay will be much better on the less realistic servers. You do tend to stick with your mates though, let them run first and see from where they get shot.

I haven't had an option to change guns yet within a class. And it seems random that a server will have, say, the scoped gewher instead of the scoped k98. Am I missing something? I'm about lvl 20, not sure of my gun ranks, rifleman is getting up there.

Well if my BFBC2 experience is any help, I never play on hardcore servers. I understand and appreciate the historical option (one idea would be to limit mic chat to a certain range or muffle/lower the volume based on distance). That said I really don't use chat in BFBC2 that often (and I never use the chat bar), but I would if more did (and I knew I was playing with 12 year olds), so I could deal with a lonely feeling, just not something where I might wind up TK or doing FF by accident.

It's kind of weird that when I quit mid-mission in a single player game and resume later, I'll be in an entirely different mission. I'm thinking it skips forward, but that wouldn't make much sense.

Definitely starting to get the hang of this game. While a weird comparison, it's seems to me like RO2 is the Demon's Souls of shooters; it requires patience and tactical thinking, and it's satisfying as fuck.

This adds an extra 6 or so MKBs/AVTs per side more than we intended (on a 64 player server). so any assault class player gets these weapons and there are no further limits on the semi automatic rifles? that's still waaaay too many.

the forums are being dumped on right now with people baying for the weapons to be limited to 1-2 a side, and harsher limits put on all the more advanced weaponry. tripwire have so far stonewalled the community on this issue, and this "oops, that was a bug, certainly not a misguided design choice" mentality does little to help that.

for all tripwire's admirable qualities, admitting to mistakes is not one of them.
