Friendly fire should always be on in competitive games, the punishment system is what needs to be looked into. I think it should be based on cumulative damage done to team mates, not deaths.
For example, instead of getting booted for killing someone 3 times, when a team mate does enough damage to deplete shields fully 3 times there is an option to boot him.

So for killing 400 enemies in any game mode in reach you get 4000 credits but for playing 50 matches of firefight matchmaking you only get 3000? WTF?

Never had a team mate get mad that you got to the scorpion first so he pulls out a Plasma Pistol and gets you stuck in the middle for the other team to make quick work of you?

Played 3 hours of this bitch online tonight - could be GOTY.
Then I played 3 hours of Halo 3 (which I had never taken online until this evening)...
... I think overall I just about prefer Halo 3. I know Reach is technically the better game, pushing more of everything and at higher quality, but on the flip-side I really like how Halo 3 feels. 3 seems more responsive and more twitch-based than Reach (I wonder if someone could objectively compare the response times of both). I can feel that it's smoother and more refined. It just seems more pure, keeping cinematic elements to a bare minimum for the sake of its gameplay; as if it is actually the distilled version of Halo (and not the other way around, like people keep implying).
Overall, campaigns and online taken into account, Halo 3 takes the cake for me. That being said: Reach is still Halo, the two are already so similar, so any lead is based on subtle differences and little personal preferences. I do keep having a lol though at my Halo-hating friend who loves Reach for some reason. I think we can all agree that it isn't so dramatically different that it will instil a complete revelation.
All this being said: Spire single-handedly shits on any Halo 3 slayer focused map.

I'd also like to add, the long flag return times. I played 2-flag Pro on Asylum (that's the Sanctuary remake, right?) today, and it was very frustrating. The sniper rifle is really out of place on such a small map with pistols, nerfles and DRMs, and it was impossible to return the flag with a 12 or 15 second timer or whatever it was. The game was locked at 1-1 most of the time, with the entire second half of the game spend with players trying to recapture a flag so they could score. But no one could, because they'd get sniped. A more rapid flag return and the removal of the sniper rifle would do wonders on the map.Domino Theory said:

I think Reach is generally pretty balanced, they just need to nerf the Revenant and have less vehicles spawn on Hemorrhage.

Halo CE has the best campaign, and I'm fine with no BR in the campaign. But CE's MP was nowhere near as good as Halo 2 and 3.I NEED SCISSORS said:

The only thing that bothers me about Asylum is that damn spot above fucking sniper. I can't believe they havn't put a soft kill thing on there. Is it be design? It's incredibly stupid. I could get up there by myself but it can be tricky and take a while just leaving you open to be killed while you're trying to get up there. Once they're up there forget it. If you could only get there by jetpack I would be okay, but for people to get up there by sprinting and jumping at the right spots is just stupid.
Also, I think I'm done with Invasion until they do the something about the first stage. That shit on both maps is just the fucking worst now that people have figured out how to defend. Shame because Invasion Slayer is fun...
