EDIT: yeah, new page. Poor thing.

If your response to someone telling you you're a crybaby is to google (I hope you had to google) for pictures of dead babies with blood coming out of their head, I think you've got more to worry about than your shots "not hitting".dslgunstar said:Fine. I'm out.

It keeps track of previous seasons, though. So if you get Iron this season and Bronze the next, you and anyone else who views your service record can see that you improved. And over time you build up a 'baseball' card of your Arena performance.FunkyMunkey said:The ranking system is still worthless so long as it resets.
Oh God I hate this.catfish said:I bet he's also one of those jerks that quits 1 second after his team loses so I have to watch a loading screen for 5 minutes after I win a game just to see the post game screen.

Lol did you only read the first sentence of my post? I said Out of Reach and Reach around were already taken. Thanks for the effort though

Talking about melee leads to pictures of dead babies, what the hell.metareferential said:Ok, I'll never bring up the melee question again :lol
So sad
I can stand anything, but that was unexpected and way out of control, come on. What the fuck.
I think what bugs a lot of people is they want their rank to be permanent, to be emblematic of how good they are For All Time. Whereas Reach (and the Arena) sort of dare to tell the average shooter fan they're only as good as their last game.FunkyMunkey said:True, but it's just too much trouble compared to seeing a shiny number next to your name imo. I love the idea and intentions of Arena, though, and I'm pleased a lot of the fans are enjoying it so far.

'reach for a beer' ?
'I can't reach my controller please get it for me'
'you're reaching' or 'I'm reaching' or just 'reaching'
'the word reach sounds weird if you keep repeating it'
'reach for the stars' is a well known saying, maybe that (must be taken)
this is hard I'm giving up. Reach is a bad word to make clever. Reach around is the funniest/most clever title possible.

Way to be loved around here

Like, it's cool when teams win trophies in sports. But come the start of the new season, they have to do it all again. Everyone accepts this as standard in sports, but in videogames we're used to having 'earned' a certain rank, and expect it to always shine next to our name.
I really, really like Arena system on the meta/macro level, I just wish there were a few tweaks (assists, radar, power weapons, magnum in all gametypes) to make it even better.
Why not "Reach and Flexibility"! (Players of Mass Effect 2 might understand this.)Tashi0106 said:It's ok. We're ditching the whole Reach team name thing anyway. It might just be "3 guys and a Tashi"

Aww, the ducks. =(
remz said:Call me shallow but i sort of love the armory shit, the fanatical race to get a new helmet or chunk of armor is making me want to play way more then COD 4 ever did ( a game which i never bothered reaching the top rank in)
i just love a good shiny new helmet.
also like the arena stuff too.
Net_Wrecker said:I love the Armory items as well, in fact, I wish the armor and color options made an even bigger change to how the Spartans look. The secondary colors on the Arms and Legs should've remained whichever color you picked even when on Red vs. Blue teams to really give everyone a unique look. I also wish the chest Armor options were all radically different instead off "kind of different from the other ones" we have now.

Photolysis said:A lot of people seem to be reporting this as a glitch, when it's actually due to a change in the networking.
In Halo 3, whoever got to the host first would win (except for melee vs melee which was an exception). I might shoot you in the head with the BR and you do the same for me, but you were closer to the host so you'd get the kill. This meant that double deaths were exceptionally rare.
In Reach this was changed so that within a 300ms limit, if two players both think they killed each other before they receive word from the host that they're dead, the game will kill both players. It's much fairer because it gives the host or those that live closer to the host much less of an advantage, but does have the downside that double deaths are more common.
When it comes to stuff like Bulltrue medals, you think you killed the lunging player, the guy with the sword thinks he killed you, and so the host compromises by saying you're both right, and killing both of you. So that's why you get the medal but still die.
I prefer this method over closer to host = win, less stress when you know you shot him yet he beats you down anyway.Photolysis said:A lot of people seem to be reporting this as a glitch, when it's actually due to a change in the networking.
