Nearly 10 years later, I will concede that Blood Gulch was never that great of a map. It was a wide open space with barely much on it. After playing Hemorrhage, I've finally realized that fact upon noticing how far we've come (in other words, how awesome Bungie's other maps have been). While it isn't absolutely terrible, I don't really like it. Especially since it's not really Blood Gulch or Coagulation but a mixture of both with some slightly different terrain and weapons and vehicle placement. I appreciate the fan service Bungie but this is one instance where maybe Bungie should have said,"Fuck it. We're going to do something more creative with this space than please some old fans."
As for Pinnacle, I had a short discussion, argument, whatever you want to call it, with Dani the other day about that map. While I appreciate it having been remade, I think Bungie really should have tried to do something different with that remake. The Banshee spawn and accompanying walkway needs some love, and there's no reason why anyone should be able to camp the towers with the jetpack. It's a great map but very exploitable and too similar to Ascension. Ascension was great but it had it's problems and Pinnacle has more (once again, fuckin' jetpacks).
And just like Dax, I'm crossing my fingers for a Valhalla remake. It think it was best execution of the Blood Gulch style of map.
Edit: Reflection is perfection though. <3 Ken Taya
And we need more BTB maps.
