It doesn't. That was fluff to keep investors happy.

That was regarding their QoL (Quality of Life) division whose purpose it was to create health market products. Their first product was to be a sleep sensor which sits on a nightstand, thus "leapfrogging" wearable technology into non-wearables.

Completely separate from their videogame division, so not really relevant to the NX, unless things have changed.

I wouldn't worry to much about when the reveal happens this month. We know it's this month. Emily, EG and othertheir sources confirmed the hybrid and are also sure it would be revealed in September. If not we could question everything.

As far as I can tell only Eurogamer reported September, and like people have said that's one of the easiest things which can change. They could have easily heard September when that was the plan, and then for whatever reason the plan changed, and that doesn't invalidate anyone's rumor.

I'm still thinking September is possible though.

As far as I know Eurogamer is the only one which said they had heard September for the reveal. Changing the date does not indicate that the source could be wrong, and it only indicates that the reveal information could be out of date. There's almost no way that the hardware could change drastically, but a reveal date is super easy to change.

Nintendo's silence on NX seems pretty crazy. At this point, I can't imagine Nintendo releasing new hardware as early as March. I hate to be negative, but I feel pretty confident that isn't going to happen now. If there really is a delay, it will be holiday 2017 I'm sure. That would mean a reveal likely won't happen until early next year or possibly even E3. I hope I'm wrong, but Nintendo's refusal to talk about this damn thing is discouraging.

What makes this whole situation worse is that as more and more speculation and hype build, expectations will be harder to meet. We are also reaching the point now where many have either lost interested or stopped caring entirely. I understand Nintendo wants to be more careful in presenting this new hardware, but I feel that conservatism may have already done some damage.

We shall see what happens though.

The "many" that obsessively follow boards like gaf? Come on, folks. If you're thinking like this, you need to step outside of the bubble and think big picture. Tons and tons and tons of people who play games probably barely know the NX is a thing yet. Nintendo is doing no harm by not trickling out details.

Now, could there be a delay? Sure. But no announcement yet doesn't mean anything. Nobody would bat an eye if they announced at E3 and launched in November. That's six months. If they announce sometime this month, they're on pace to have enough time to properly market.

I hate the logic that Nintendo can do no wrong and is definitely handling things correctly no matter what. After how they handled the Wii U pre-launch and launch, should they really be given the benefit of the doubt? If they're not ready to reveal 6 months before launch it's because they've done something wrong.

It's not even a standard. It's just something PS4/XB1 did (well, PS4 was 9 months). Nearly all other prior consoles have done more than 6 months. We're potentially still at > 6 months at this point regardless. March 31, 2017 is a Friday.

Read their latest article on EG that their source confirm this. You can also check Tom phillips on twitter that also said September. He isn't sure when and how it will happen in September. But he predicted only a Ndirect later on in his tweets.


Of course the date could change, but he also said he didn't hear anything new from their sources. Beside some rumor mario maker could be released on nx too.

It would probably still be true, but if it isn't this month, maybe the story isn't 100% correct because of the delay. Maybe 90% :l
