They did this same shit when some crybaby journalist wrote about how cleft lips were being made fun of in rage 2 and how it made him feel bad but the developers ignored him (shock!).
Some idiots were trying to equate what the journalist was going through to what black people went through pre civil rights movement. That was the final straw with that place as far as I was concerned.

If the theory is that some old racist guys invent the idea of Orcs as a "dogwhistle" while simultaneously denying that this is the case then what's the point?
Surely in the 1950s guys like Tolkien would have totally gotten away with racism? So why go to all the trouble of covering it up like that?
They knew that many decades down the line it would be seen as completely unacceptable and so they were ahead of the curve?
It's funny because you can imagine the difficulty of writing a fantasy story that is intended for entertainment value but you have to account for each and every grey area and offer a nuanced take and you absolutely must NOT write characters that are purely "savage" and brutal and evil.
Then you turn to the same people who demand that level of nuance and try to convince them that maybe Trump isn't all bad or Conservatives aren't all irredeemable scum and they simply will not entertain the notion.
It gets to the point where people who look for racism absolutely everywhere will inevitably find it.
Yet anything goes when it comes to their own ideological enemies.
