Hard work, only if you are aware of your position and work smarter and not harder. There's lots of people that think sitting at their desk after hours will be rewarded with a promotion.
Luck, It's like gambling the more chances you have the higher your chances are of winning. Keep making opportunities/chances for yourself. See: Work smarter not harder.

They just think that everything is handed on a platter to a lucky few and that success depends on anything but yourself.

There is a gigantic amount of "right place and right time" for success but I just can't get on board with the "It's mostly luck" option.
To be "successful" is also a widely subjective target in life. I think with hard work and smart planning, most anyone can have an upper middle class lifestyle and to me that is pretty damn successful.
Beyond that, there are a lot of genetic, familial, and "right place, right time" variables that you can't just work through to become a Jeff Bezos or whatever.

I think they were paying homage to Lukes design from A New Hope, I think shes very attractive and a decent actress, I've seen her in other films and do well, but I do think she's kinda hard to not typecast, a bit like how Mark Hamill was

The biggest issue is Rey is a Mary Sue. She never left her home planet but could fly the Falcon with ease and hold a lightsaber with no training. She had no real struggle in the series and it damaged her.She's definitely unique in her looks

Honestly,
She has a pretty face and as anti-Ree material I liked that in TFA still. But Daisy Ridley is just as bad as Hayden Christensen. There is hardly any difference. Except the new trilogy is somewhat more cartoony (unlike the previous with only TPM being like that) and the cast has a bit better chemistry. She was saved by Adam Driver a bit, who is to me the highlight of this trilogy. But she's almost a carbon copy otherwise. Plus, Rise is for me the worst SW movie of all time and I've recently watched them all.
