Monster Hunter World that wasn't using REngine also had performance issues on PS4 and still wasn't fix with PS4 pro.

I would say based on DF PS5 pro is running MH Wilds better than MH World PS4 pro version.

Oh don't get me wrong I do as well - I've also put around 100 hours into MH Wilds, it's just got a few issues their other RE games lack

Yup, but topic our beloved gafer made wasnt about switch2 being powerful for its tiny size =D
And lets look at direct quote from the dev in the article:

…when we got the Switch 2 hardware, we were surprised in a good way about how smooth the process was for us to bring the existing development version of the game to that platform. It just made sense that we felt that we don't need to wait on this one or do a separate project after the main game, we can just bring the main game to this hardware immediately.

So not a word about how powerful switch2 was, just how smooth was porting process, which means switch2 has modern features (its 2020 nvidia tech, duh), not that it is any kind of powerful

Although we have released ports of the games to Nintendo platforms over the years, as you said, this is a bit more all-in on being day one on Switch 2, and that's simply because when we got the Switch 2 hardware, we were surprised in a good way about how smooth the process was for us to bring the existing development version of the game to that platform.
