HEADSETS:

It would be a big plus if everyone invested in a headset. For headset details and recommendations, follow this link.

If you do not have a headset, you can at least set it up so that you can hear people without one. Set mic output settings to system default.

The Wedge tactic explained:

The "flying wedge" is the term given to our tendency to mob together in a violent swarm and shoot the everliving hell out of anyone who dares get near us. It leads to multiple assists per kill which leads to a 20-60% increase in points. 16 points for a kill is far better than 10!

It does not, despite its name, resemble a true flying wedge - although generally whoever is at the front of the pack will get gunned down while those behind break through and destroy the opposition. So maybe it's not completely inaccurate.

Players may report cheaters using lag devices or using exploits to leave the intended playable area. Make a report by sending a private message to the MyResistance.Net "cheating" account (username: cheating). Cheating and the use of in-game exploits is not allowed in any game type, including custom and private games.

To enforce this policy we have in-game moderators documenting players who are involved in using, discovering, or sharing exploits with others. These moderators have the ability to join and observe any game or user in ranked, custom, or private games without the knowledge of the players in those games.

Initial bans for first-time offenders will be 24 hours. Bans will grow in length with each successive rules-violation, and attempts to circumvent a ban are grounds for an extension of it.

I already have a problem with the patch, not including the network failing on me. I can't turn off peoples voices from voice chat on my TV/stereo. It's really annoying. The option in the menu makes no difference.


This sucks Insomniac. If I can't find a solution, I'm not playing until it's fixed. And given the time it takes in between patches, this may be the end of my days playing Resistance. Fun while it lasted.

Me and Efertlis went through the facial animation and I was just singing Maroon 5 with Jer :lol. I called the lips moving pointless but its a blast.

It might have to be turned off in the Resistance options and in the options in the XMB - check your settings there.

Camborne is such a sick map, the difference in size between the 8 and 16 player maps is crazy. 8 players has the shaft that shoots you up and you are stuck in a area about the size of Nottingham center, but 16 players unlocks what seems like the whole underground area and no shafts to go up to that I've seen yet. Can't wait to see the 32 and 40 player versions. Snow map is pretty but seems to barren, Efertlis, Big E, Acid and Sutdawg should be able to do a lot of damage from the sniper towers on it. Whatever size efertlis put for our 1v1 had like 8 nodes it was sick, I never seen some of those node names before.

I take back every bad thing I've said about Insomniac in the last month while waiting. Camborne alone was worth the wait.

The option in the menu won't do anything if you have a headset plugged in. If you DO have a headset plugged in and the sound is coming out of your speakers, open up the audio settings dialog from "options" and make sure the output is set to your headset and NOT to system default (system default = tv speakers)

Great. Might be a while for me now. Just found out my GF is waiting in line with her girlfriends for iPhones...I going to surprise her and gather some provisions from Central Market (Wine, cheese, fruit basket, some flowers) and deliver it to them to get some P**** Points I can cash in later on.

Should be on in a couple hours though...I'm not waiting with them while Resistance beckons. Besides, I spent all my money on damn kitchen knives last week, I ain't got six Bengies lying around to spend on a phone... :lol

You can mute all players or players individually.

* The “MUTE” menu from the in-game start menu is now the “MUTE/REPORT” menu. Selecting a player from this menu will allow you to select either “Mute”, to mute all voice chat from that player, or “Report for abuse”, which will notify an in-game moderator that the player is being abusive by cheating, glitching, or otherwise violating the EULA. In-game moderators will then be alerted, and may observe the player to verify that he/she is being abusive.
