Yep, i only beated him thanks to that thing.Jesus Christmas that regen integrity on low hp is OP. Nemesis down thx to that.
I disabled the triggers and put the vibration on low or just disable it, they both drain the battery super fast and they don't make any sensible difference to me...neat the first time then you completely forget them. Not sure if anyone else is having issues with the dual sense but it sucks the battery life playing this game
1. It gives you buffs with each level completed. Once you obtain the next level it shows you what you acquired in the lower mid of the screen.I do have some questions for people a bit further in:
- What does Adrenaline do? As far as I can tell it lets you Quick reload faster and adds certain buffs to every level you have, which resets on a hit
- Is the Max health farm per run or can you get more Max HP permanently?
- Where do I insert Data Cubes? I keep finding them and I inserted one after the first boss, but not been able to find anywhere since then
- Fuck that 2nd stage part of the 2nd boss, it has no tells over which direction he flies in from and often I'm getting hit from behind
They are both roguelikes but with different gameplay and progression. Is this sorta similar to Dead Cells?
Bugs! Can someone explain to me why I'm not able to leaving the crash site sometimes?
I wake up in the ship, head outside and the door simply will not open on some occasions. What am I missing?
Apparently this bug caused by wearing bonus suits. Can someone explain to me why I'm not able to leaving the crash site sometimes?

I think Returnal approach to forcing using safe mode is too casual. It should perma brick ps5 when you stop playing before completing game or during death.

This could only happen to me lol. And of course the game didn't register that as a kill.
A two hour run. Really took my time in the first biome. I had double health. An extra life. 4 health packs. I still lost. Why? Well i suck but I also didn't get any weapon drops and had to settle for a shitty pistol you get at the start of the boss fight that did no damage. I bet my level 2 holoseeker from the first biome wouldve done more damage than this trash.
Yeah the more I play the less impressed I am. I turned around and played a couple runs on hades last night and that is such a completely better experience. Most frustratingly Returnal could have been so much better, but housemarque's lack of experience is really showing through with some of these design choices. There is a solid mechanics in this game and it plays well... but I agree with most of your complaints and the lack of any kind of meta progression, paired with shit pickups really is causing my interest to wane.I am so fucking done. So many idiotic design choices.
There is a boss portal shortcut. Good
It's mid way through the second World. Bad.
You still have to go through the first World every time just to get to the second world. Stupid.
The shop that sells health upgrades, resurrection stones and all other critical items you need to beat the boss is NOT at the boss portal shortcut. It's much much further into the second World so you basically have to replay the entire level hat to get to the boss with decent items and weapons.
Moronic.
You keep nothing. You don't keep your weapons. Your artifacts. Heath upgrades. Weapon levels. Mods only get added to the loot pool after you unlock them. What? Let me modify.
So many runs are ruined by rng. One only had malfunction chests. One had me go through like ten rooms just to get to the second world. Screenshot below.
As soon as that happens look for the source of the green light, there should be these white fleshly looking orbs on top of a pillar in the room, shoot that and you kill the ability for enemies to regenerate health, there should normally be just one but sometimes there are two, just make that your priority, they're not hard to miss!WTF. Two times now in the first biome the are says its on lockdown or somethign and a green flash goes around the environment. I try to shoot enemies from the door area as I got anhiliated the first time I tried to rush into the area but nothing seems to take damage. Im not prepared to lose this run to this crap and although I assume there is a switch to flick somewhere in area I m ok being spoiled on it. What gives?

Man the second boss just spam a bunch bullet hell in his 3rd case. I'm getting desperate to dodge that shit. I went with a parasite that revives you when you get a fatal hit and an astronaut still get rekt. Anyway I'm getting them hang of it. Game is great.
it doesn't madder which biome you die in. you're still gonna get the story bits in order.I have a question.
Normally you get access to the house when you visit for the first time a biome, first time during the first biome, second time when you reach second biome but you die and then you can enter a second time in the house in the first biome.
Now my question is, i didn't died in the third biome and now i'm in the 4 biome with the house available...am i gonna experience the third iteraction with the house or the game is gonna skip the third iteraction to pass directly to the fourth because i'm in the 4 biome?!
I don't know if i'm clear enough, i just don't wanna lose story elements.
Its my favorite weapon so far. It can be easy to get overwhelmed if you miss shots or placements but for me the fun of placing pylons on enemies and walls or the ground and being able to run away or into cover as needed is really cool. And the DPS is very nice when the gun is upgraded. I prefer the risk/reward the Pylon Driver or whatever its called comes with. Flying foes can be a pain, as leading them doesn't always guarantee a hit, but again, using the environment against them is fun.I heard everywhere that the pylon gun is the best weapon in the game, i just unlocked it but didn't used yet against enemies.
And i get the theory, but how does this weapon work against flying enemies?! Does it make lighining traps in the air too?!
This is so true, got through almost the whole 1st biome without getting hit once yesterday. Something I thought to be impossible two days before. Once you know the rooms, the spawnpoints of enemies and which ones to priorotize the game gets a lot easier.Game rewards you for being smart in the environment your in. SO knowing what is where, and maneuvering on the fly will help you go a long way.
Yeah game is great. I feel like playing one run per day. Loving so far. Eventually I'll beat it.When like previous poster said, when ever you see enemies with green light, look for the pillar suppling the light. once you destroy it which usually you can from afar, you can stat going through and dealing with rest of enemies.

Once you have that its as easy as running in zig/zag pattern and dashing right to turret and killing it with one blow.
I dont play a lot of rogue like games., bloodborne was the last one I played. And i had died like 3-4 times on the same boss in first biome. Then gave it a rest, and went in and changed controls to classic and upped aim assist to high. Then I WAS shredding, and had full adrenaline with a level 4 carbine. Went to the boss and destroyed him.
Then got far in the second Biome and got boddied lol. But Once it clicks its one of the most satisfying games I've played since Dead space 2.
I'm very close in beating second boss. I think another run later this week and I should get it. I feel second boss pattern wise is easier than first boss.

Those little blue balls are the same that Sony used in the PS5 reveal trailer and other PS5 promo stuff?

I spent 10 hours to beat it.I think I am on death 15 or more and still cant beat the first boss haha. This is embarrassing.
When using the Hollowseeker use the advice that Bo_Hazem gave me and aim above the red part on his chest , if you aim just a little above then the bullets should gradually fall just enough to hit the red spot.Got to the boss of the third biome. Struggled massively, my Hollowseeker felt like it was doing barely any damage…died on his last bar of health.
Having to take a few days off from this game as I finish off uni assignments, but I’m super hyped to get back into it

Weird, I found it to be the easiest boss in the game and got hit 3 times on my first try.Maybe using the grappling hook helped too much with verticality and I had a carbine so shooting him from a distance worked well. You died because you rushed my friend, I know from experience, I was desperate to finally beat this boss and went on the offensive, died everytime, so I switched up my strategy.
I would not be afraid to go backwards if I had to, to take one or two shots at a time before grappling to another platform, it took a while yes but it kept me alive with even lower health than you had at the start of your clip.
Just be patient, and for god sakes bring a better gun with you to the fight next time , try and get a carbine or a hollowseeker with a good alt fire that can go a long distance! You'll have this boss in the bag in no time!

But yeah,I had much more trouble with the 1st and second boss but even then I beat them on second try.
The 4th boss was very hard but I just found a carbine with leech rounds and high fire rate....It took a lot of time but basically healed me each time I got hit (which was a lot,I guess I got lucky).
If some of you have doubts leech rounds is amazing especially if you have a big magazine and nothing that would prevent you from doing perfect reloads.
Yeah game is great. I feel like playing one run per day. Loving so far. Eventually I'll beat it.
Yeah it has way better dps but heals way less.I actually do prefer it too but only if I have a big life bar.Otherwise leech and high pitch are safer. Also I wanna stress that the shield breaker red laser is the best alt fire, it's like having a sniper. Breaks the shields and also makes devastating damage.
I actually prefer the carbine with high caliber (slow FPS) that hits hard as second best weapon.

You can do it! We’re all in this together. Finally managed to beat the first boss after 11 hours of playtime. My palms were so sweaty and anxiety was through the roof! Spent an hour farming for the fight. It's not a tough boss but knowing the consequences of defeat makes me so tense that I just make lots of unforced errors. Was gonna put the game on ebay if this fight ended in defeat. I love the game but I'm nowhere near good enough, I doubt I'll get beyond the third level. This game is a superb homage to all the best alien sci-fi, getting strong Dead Space vides now in the second biome.
I think people are just numb to see how amazing the game looks. I don’t know what they’re expecting.Haven't you guys stopped to think about how impressive the upscaling in this game is? Base 1080p to 4K! With better engine, higher talent we can see extreme visuals with extensive usage of RT as well in the future!
Yes it doesn't look like native 4K, but it feels like bluray 1080p or even higher! Excited for what's ahead! Let's not forget that this is 1440p as well and capable of doing so in 60fps with further optimization (done by few devs within 7 months):
