For an Xbox console player, this thing is basically a PS Portal at 5 times the price....

what are those? I didn't think the Z2 Extreme was in many devices yet
Huh? A decent one?A decent budget windows PC is like $300-$350.
Any of your Play Anywhere games that you bought on Xbox are NATIVELY supported on the Xbox Ally. No streaming involved. For playing Xbox CONSOLE games IT IS a streaming solution
It doesn't NATIVELY run Xbox console games from any generation

Stop shitting up the thread.Sure, you play the PC versions, just like any other Windows machine on the market...![]()
Stop shitting up the thread.
It's a fully blown Windows PC handheld why you bringing a dumb (as in Hardware not meant as a diss) streaming device in here?
Your blatantly trolling man. Reported.
Oh, I thought you were talking about a PC for gaming.Yes. I bought a tiny Gateway laptop PC on Black Friday deal for $200 a few years ago. it was awful. I'm talking about doing basic things like homework, browsing the web and running stock/brokerage account programs.
Sure, you play the PC versions, just like any other Windows machine on the market...![]()
I'm trolling because I said it doesn't run Xbox games?
Please report me for stating the truth![]()
Gamer enthusiasts don't cares what exe. file its running on. If its a game you own on Xbox and you can play it on PC without having to buy it again and it plays with the Xbox UI, that's good. Casuals really don't care at all, casuals don't even know what a console is. They just say "playstation" or "Xbox" or "videogame system".
It's also over 1300 games from your library and growing. This is more games than Switch had from the Wii U generation library at launch which was 0.
Yup, installed not streamed, at no additional cost, one save file shared, shared achievements, pick up where you left off. Pretty sick. Imagine if you had to buy the game more than once.Sure, you play the PC versions, just like any other Windows machine on the market...![]()

That works for us gamers!Don't worry: games will be optimized for sure for this machine![]()
I don't think potential XBOX Ally users, whether they're Xbox console users or not, care about whether it's correct to call it a PC or a console.Just watch the video and you will get it
Xbox games can be played only via streaming...
It's not my fault they want to call it "a console", when it's actually a fucking PC
It's Phil's magic lies again
Casuals won't buy this this thing anyway, so I'm not sure what are you talking about
How many SteamDecks were sold again???
What's really important it's the fact of being a rebranded Ally with absolutely nothing new. I can get a discounted Ally X for 500€ now, wtf I as an "informed customer" would buy this?I don't think potential XBOX Ally users, whether they're Xbox console users or not, care about whether it's correct to call it a PC or a console.
Only people like you that only care because it gives you the narrative you're looking for.
Whoever is interested in that Rog Ally will likely pay more attention to what is or what offer but how It is called. Firstly because is a 900$ devices and The potencial buyer is a well informes person.
They see it being a portable device, they'll be able to natively play a large part of the Xbox PC catalog, the Steam catalog, and any other store (where PlayStation games are located), and the security of game support being assured and not dependent on sales.
XBOX console users who want a portable device and are interested in it will do so for all the reasons mentioned above and because the connectivity with Xbox consoles and the Xbox ecosystem in general—a.k.a. cross-progression, PlayAnywhere, GamePass, etc.—is great, and there's no other option other than a Windows-based devices.
But hey!! It's a PC, you've already said it... Now let people discuss what's really important...

I got you, Steam Deck was just too weak to output 4k image display but this $900 ROG Ally should be able to use the $100 dock to output at 4K.
4 million, but SteamDecks aren't sold in store though. I agree casuals will not Buy the Xbox Ally X for $900 but if the lower spec Xbox ally is $500 or $550 that is very comparable to Switch 2 price so it may sell pretty decent.

Huh? No it isn't
First, It is not really true. What's really important it's the fact of being a rebranded with nothing new
Second good for you if you prefer other options... That is something legitimate and understandable, another thing is coming to a thread to campaign against a device just because it is linked to XBOX that is what is doing the person I quotes. I can get a discounted Ally X for 500€ now, wtf I as an "informed customer" would buy this?
Where I live they discount cheaper Rog Ally to pretty low levels, about $400. Higher end X model holds its price.4 million, but SteamDecks aren't sold in store though. I agree casuals will not Buy the Xbox Ally X for $900 but if the lower spec Xbox ally is $500 or $550 that is very comparable to Switch 2 price so it may sell pretty decent.
Emphasis on Xbox console. once again
Which one?? Isn't these the most powerful??
Witch ones exactly thought this has the lasteat tech ?
All handhelds with 890m, 8040s, 8050s and 8060s GPUs are more powerful than this, but more expensiveThere is? You mean like a laptop?
Not quite able to emulate Series X titles.Let me introduce you to a wonderful world of emulation.
Not quite able to emulate Series X titles.
I meant its docked output capabilities though...Steam Deck isn't too weak to output 4k. Just doesn't make sense in handheld mode.
it also has a bigger screenThe MSI Claw A8 has Z2 Extreme and goes for $999.
I meant its docked output capabilities though...
Idk, I don't have steam deck so maybe I'm just misunderstanding its docked capability and why it can't do so easily what Switch 2 seems to.
It's a PC so you can output at 4k if you want, but the GPU is weak and will struggle to render at native 1080p in modern gamesSo basically $1000 for the full package, i.e. system and Dock. Does the dock at least boost the system in any way? Or does it still output @1080p image?
That's a given.SteamOS is better than Windows
True. JSRF runs well enough. Only OG Xbox I don't have easy access to.Also original Xbox Emultation sucks big time
Wait, what?Be warned! You might be reported too![]()

I am not campaigning about anything, in fact after Steam Deck I'm 100% sure my next gaming device will be a PC handheld.First, It is not really true.

If the title is available on PC you can play it, which I think vast majority of Series X titles are.Not quite able to emulate Series X titles.
They are not the vast majority unfortunately. 20 of the 400+ games I own are play anywhere.Wait, what?

not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.
is it loading this fast because of the speed of the system, or is it loading this fast because most of the stuff is already running in the background.
if it's the latter, that wouldn't be a good thing.
They are not the vast majority unfortunately. 20 of the 400+ games I own are play anywhere.
we get the ram and performance save they promised regardless so I think it doesn't really matter, I am happy that it function like a full pc, this might even be a good laptop alternative
