Can't happen: we see Leia put the plans in Artoo on the Tantive IV

Yeah, I was about to say.....

If anything, have the final shot be a behind the character shot of Leia, and the plans being handed to her. or a cameo by Jimmy Smits, in which he says he will deliver the plans to Leia.

What I like about Felicity's character as opposed to Rey is I dont get the feeling she is a good person, whereas with Rey they always set her up as the next hero. I dont think Felicity is a Hero, I think its entirely possible she sides with whoever pays her.

Both are survivors

Only one would have sold BB8 for 60 portions

you can't put a price on sparks
i'm cautiously optimistic. obviously looks more like actual star wars than i think even TFA accomplished (since its during the same time period)

Me personally: Hoping for an ending that ties into the Radio Drama, which features Leia learning about and intercepting the plans in the Tantive.

Remember, according to Star Wars, the plans aren't handed to anybody. They're transmitted to the Tantive IV. Beamed to the ship by Rebel Spies, specifically.

"I want to know what happened to the plans they sent you."

I fully expect the last shot to be R2 speeding up the ramp to the ship right as it's taking off

Post credits:

Captain Antilles: Oh, man, that last mission was rough. I hope I do a good job this time.

Crewman: We're counting on you, sir. Don't choke!

Laughter, fade to black

Are any of the radio drama's canon?

Again, a nod to the EU crowd--shades of Mara Jade. Rey doesn't seen much like Luke at all--if you were to think of what her mother might be like, it would almost be a 1:1 this character from Rogue One.

I expect our heroes sacrifice themselves, biding time for the blockade runner to get away. Once they've got the plans, the rendezvous wherever Leia is, on her diplomatic mission. The Empire show up and Vader just goes nuts and destroys everyone.

I'd also hope, that it's established that, whilst not explicitedly stated in the OT, that Vader needs his pod thing to recuperate if he exerts himself too much. Recharge the batteries as it were. Might mean we can see a much more....active and formidable Vader, physically, than a geriatric Vader who's mind and force prowess is his greatest asset.

Comics, serious business!
The final shot could be Vader on the Destroyer bridge saying "we have the corvette in our sights. Tell the Emporor we will extract the plans from the Princess by any means necessary." Then you see the classic EPIV shot but from a different angle.

NOPE! But Lucasfilm has been steadily reintroducing ideas & pieces of them into the new canon via the YA novels, I believe. They're definitely open to mining them for ideas.

So I'm hoping we get some of that here. For example, one of the Radio Drama chapters features Leia stopping at a planet named Toprawa, encountering Vader, tricking Imperial reconnaissance, saving a rebel's life, recieving transmission of the plans, and jumping to hyperspace.

I don't think Leia's gonna be in this at all, but I could see the film maybe ending on one of our Rogues, just before dying, watching the Tantive IV touch down on Toprawa knowing that the plans will get transmitted.

I think the majority, if not all, will die and it will add more gravitas to episode 4.

There is no sequel, so there has to be some resolution, you cant just have Felicity Jones character walk off into the sunset having achieved something so grand and never be mentioned again...ever.

But maybe you can.

That was Zack Snyder's pitch to Lucasfilm waaaaaay back before anything about spinoffs got announced, I think.

People are hoping that idea is being saved for a Kenobi movie set on tatooine. Although nobody's actually said that's being pursued at all, or even that a Kenobi movie is on the table.

Ewan McGregor saying he couldn't say whether he'd spoken to Kathy Kennedy about it in a recent interview gives me hope.

The Princess, the Scoundrel, and the Farm Boy reinforced this by drawing from the radio dramas and stating that Leia had the Tantive IV parked over the planet that the battle happened on claiming that it was an emergency repair stop.

Do'h that's right. Leia it is.

Can't be that, either. The plans are beamed to the Tantive IV. Leia never takes physical possession of them until just before she puts them in Artoo.

Yeah, that book pulls specific lines of dialog directly from Brian Daley's script

I'm not wild about the "A Star Wars Story" but that's my only complaint. This looks great. Goddamn I love Star Wars.

Wow, did we all watch a different trailer? that looked terrible. The dialogue was fanfic tier and apart from the music, it didn't feel at all like starwars

I'd love to see Alderaan in this. Like, a lot.

I genuinely, genuinely, dont see how its not, its too important.

It would be an oversight if it was not in this, even briefly.

I'm sure someone's heard somewhere if this is the case or not (I'm out of the loop) but is Smits rumored to be in this thing at all?

0 rumours about it, they discussed it on Jedi Council recently

don't do this to me.

Smits was one of my absolute favorite things about Revenge of the Sith. His Bail Organa is factually the most boss character in the prequels.

I mean they could pull an almighty bait and switch btu when so much has leaked about it and casting is probably the hardest thing to keep under wraps, im not convinced.

Looks good, can't wait to see a Death Star done with some gravitas and depth after the shitty knock off version in TFA.
