Thing will be a total flop then

I disagree.

I can see an ultra powerful and handheld device with the ability to load steam as well as that existing library of games would be in a strong position in 2026, if the rumours to align with the GTA 6 launch are true.

Best place to play GTA 6 and Microsoft rides that hype.

If they time it right then there's a good chance for them to get good market penetration again.

Can't see them doing day 1.
I can totally see that.

Doom is already day one, when they had 0 obligations to even launch on PS5 - let alone launch it on day one. Indiana Jones was also made to launch on PS5, despite previously having an exclusivity contract - which is why it is launching ~5 months later on PS5.

I can see them launching these games on day one going forward.

Let's be honest. These "content creators" are losing things to talk about that gets social media traction and these comments about xbox games going to ps and ps games going to pc..bloodborne remasters...it's all they really have left to talk about to get hits.

This will continue but we dont really know until things are officially announced.

I think indy will be a big test bed for ms. See how sales go witha much smaller exclusivity window.

Yeah for the BGS stuff for sure. Look how much taking Starfield exclusive hurt them.

I'm more on about the Xbox staples Gears Halo etc. Won't be day one until they have completely abandoned the hardware, its coming, just not quite yet imo.

MAAG from Crossfire, XNC podcast who leaked news of XBox titles coming to rival platforms before news outlets in 2023 is Now breaking that all big AAA titles coming to PS5/PS5PRO

This would add credence to rumors of multiple studios within Xbox Games Studios who have PS5PRO Dev kits.

According to MAGG not confirmed PS5/PRO version for Gears:E-DAY being made alongside Xbox. Meaning possible day in date release.

Most likely all made up bullshit but maybe not? Anyhow. Take it with a truckload full of salt

It better not be bullshit ..imagine a dev purposely holding out on a particular piece of hardware ..no different than a a PC version being underdeveloped it would be an insult to your customers

Honestly, them caring so much about their nut job fanbase's feelings will be the death of them. It's what's got them so deep in this mess in the first place, so why do they think continuing to do it will get them out of it?

Xbox switching to timed exclusivity on first party titles. I’m cool with it. The more players, the better. I wish Sony and Nintendo would do the same.

Expecting this is one of the reasons I’ve sold my SX. The other reason is that I’m not even interested in those games (except if they make a good Halo, but it’s been 15 years since the last one…)

I believe we are ending cycle and another will begin. It's impossible to port games to a competitor and continue to exist as a competitor.
Don't doubt it, rumors will begin to emerge about possible companies to replace the Xbox, the PS5 cannot be left without a competitor to share third-party games with it.
Yeah it’s incredibly dumb to port exclusives. Imagine if Nintendo would’ve ported their exclusives when WiiU were struggling. Would’ve killed them.

But there won’t be another competitor for Sony on console. Too late for that, it’ll end like Stadia.
And Xbox gamers won’t wait for something else too pop up out of nowhere. The most hardcore fans might wait on some sort of announcement regaring Xbox Next but that’s about it, the mainstream has already moved on to PS or PC.

It's obvious at this point. Some games will be day one, some will have a small timed exclusive window.
With Indiana Jones they paid Disney to renegotiate the initial contract to make the game become Xbox exclusive and they completely backtracked, it's kinda embarrassing and that should tell you a lot about their determination with their multiplatform plans.

I personally believe this because S SneakersSO has been talking about it for almost a year now. Furthermore, Colt has been extra depressed lately and is even talking sense now to the more hardcore Xbox podcasters.. Something is happening here.

Also if Microsoft does all of these ports to PS5, they would not be technically lying because they never mentioned the word "exclusive" throughout their entire big showcase. Even for things like Gears E-Day or Perfect Dark.

Jez is listed as a tier 2.
I wouldn’t pay much attention to their rating system.
Came in to say this lol.

The hilarious part is that every time Jez fucks up, people come in and directly ask for his tier to get downgraded and they still get ignored by the mods lmao.

Lol every single port that happens has a contract for things like listing SLAs etc.

This is pure nonsense lmao.

I can't wait for the reaction from this xbox ambassador now

Think about that!

He preordered a PS5 Pro (and got a 4070)

I still stand by the idea that in todays market, you don't have to sell hundreds of millions of plastic boxes to be a success as a platform holder in the console space. Especially with how things are developing and audiences maturing, there is potential for new niches that weren't there before. You have a growing number of people you like to physically own the games they play. Who prioritize performance over visual fidelity. Who regard always online and mtx as distractions rather than added benefits. If history taught anything this market is constantly and rapidly evolving. There might be a gaming equivalent to vinyl records or vegan restaurants in the future. I know I'd buy the shit out of a console with a distinct identity and a "less means more" approach in a lot of aspects. What we've seen so far (Ouya, Evercade etc.) is not it, a bigger player has to step in.

I agree with that part.

Because the trifecta - Halo, Gears, Forza - are the biggest red lines, they will port them at the very end. Because there would be absolutely no going back after that.

Having said that, I do think that's the plan. Gears E-Day will most likely be launched on PS5 day one, considering it's essentially a reboot and a great entry for newcomers / first-time players (PS5 players). Though it's still 2-3 years away, at least, and by that time, all this noise would have died down anyway, so they could release it on PS5 day on.

Dafuq are any of those people.

I love how devs and publishers apparently just scour the internet to tell every nobody all their corporate secrets 🤣

Will most these games probably come to PS5? Most likely, it's an easy guess to make.

Leakers they are not.

I just wish Xbox would make it clear what their strategy is. It cant be good for customer confidence surely.

Whilst I'm still keeping my XSX for now (only 3 games keep me onboard). Phil & Co totally and utterly lost all my trust and good will this gen. A bunch of muppets. And that's me being kind.

Of all their licences, I'd like the next fable and Forza horizon.
Also, wasn't a big MS exclusive coming to ps5 supposed to be announced a few weeks ago, or did I miss it?

While i agree. Ms can't stop these rumours.

They've announced what games are coming to ps and that's all we know for now.

Just remembered this.

I take that as: we are looking for someone who has experience in online gaming platforms examples: live, psn, steam, OTHERS

I don't see it as indicative of them looking for someone with PSN experience specifically.

How does this make any sense?

It doesn't. It's just fanboys thinking that if they make noise Microsoft will stop with their multiplatform plans :messenger_tears_of_joy:
It's the same with Sony, they don't have to make PC ports even if they are years late, they don't have to make multiplayer gaas titles.
What matters are results and sales not some people whining online.
Also Microsoft is perfectly aware their decisions will create a progressive disconnnection with the Xbox fanbase, hence why a boiled frog strategy is obviously in place.
