Ukrainian's finishing heavy injured russian...
this is not far from butcha was filmed at the end of march when russians where retreating so it could be these russians where involved in massacre of civilians, they get one and only thing they deserve .. death.
Can't see that, but were they asiatic-looking? If so, it's likely they were Buryats, and many of them were involved in the massacres.

I don't think Buryats, Tuvans, Bashkorts, (Kadyrovite) Chechens, or other such Russian ethnic minorities are going to live long if captured by Ukrainians.
Their reputation for murder and rape will weigh heavily against their continued survival.

Are non-"Russian ethnic minorities " more upstanding?

The people in "autonomous republics" are insanely poor. Almost unimaginably so. And this is by design, so their only avenue out of poverty is military service.
This makes them dangerous, because they feel compelled to act in any way that would bring them more recognition. Since it's how they would get more monetary rewards.
And, since the official policy of Putin's dystopia is to annihilate all 'resistance', they are more inclined to extreme acts compared to, say, a regular Russian from Krasnodar.

Are Russian units not mixed? Either way, I'm not sure I buy that excuse for Russian atrocities, and these atrocities are nothing new for the Russian military.

Eastern District military units tend to contain more non-Slavs, since non-Slavs are second-rank citizens in Russia (biggest open secret ever), so military service is one of the very few avenues of success for them (and the East has more non-Slav ethnicities).

Since that BMD-3 had a big 'V' on it, for 'Vostok' (albeit in Latin, rather than the Kyrilic 'B'), they were VDV (you can tell they were VDV from the 'telnyashka', the blue-white stripy undershirt) from the east of Russia.

and Z(zapad) from west russia, also there's "O" have any clue what it stands for?

It made me think how quickly will the world forget and/or forgive Russians for their barbaric actions in Ukraine. We did forgive Germans rather quickly after WW2.
That was mostly for political reasons. AKA the Soviet Union. Germany lost the war, and its people suffered greatly for it. Not much point in beating a dead horse or holding younger generations accountable for decades. Countries that suffered the Nazi war machines' wrath were less quick to forgive them, but that's more understandable.

The Allies were actually softer on Japan in terms of prosecution for war crimes, but many people in southeast Asia had long-lasting hatred for what the Japanese did to thier people.

The point is, it's a lot easier to forgive if your country did not suffer war directly or if there were politically convenient reasons for an alliance.

Obama on Putin and the current situation. He expressed frustration that Europe largely ignored the annexation of Crimea despite his pushes to take it seriously.

“We forgot that the post-WW2, 50-60 year stretch—that’s the anomaly. There is millennia of brutality and pillage and violence and displacement and cruelty. We created a set of institutions out of 60 million people dying in WW2 and tried to reconfigure how we might organize our society. But it is not self-executing. It is something we have to continually nurture and respond to new circumstances.”

That was a good watch. I wasn't the biggest fan of Obama, but I will readily admit that, if I could pick a president from the last 50 years that I would want in the driver's seat for this current situation, it would be him.

With Reagan as alternate.

Nah, Barry O'bama was too corporate-friendly, and too weak on foreign assholes. He showed that on several occasions.

Unca' Joe's domestic policies are crap, but he's old enough to know that you can trust a Russian politician/decisionmaker about as far as you can piss on him.

Some additional bits on the UN HRC resolution. Russia of course threatened any country that abstained or voted in support of the resolution.

"
The resolution received 93 votes in favor and 24 against, and 58 countries abstained. China had said before the vote that it would not support the measure, and India, Brazil, Mexico and United Arab Emirates — all members of the U.N. Security Council — abstained from voting. Their arguments included that the move could worsen the war, and that further investigation of reported atrocities was needed before the United Nations took action.

They also said the United Nations should focus on ending the conflict through diplomatic negotiations. “When innocent human lives are at stake, diplomacy must prevail as the only viable option,” India’s ambassador, T.S. Tirumurti, said.

Russia’s suspension, by contrast, comes in the face of its blanket denials of any rights violations in Ukraine. The Kremlin had warned that it would consider votes in support of the resolution or even abstentions as “unfriendly” acts that would have consequences for its relations with those countries.

Russia has been active in Council proceedings challenging any resolutions critical of individual countries, particularly allies such as Syria and Belarus, and proposing amendments aimed at undercutting a wide range of rights initiatives.
"

Final count:

Any international aid sent to any countries who voted against should be immediately stopped, and they should all be regarded as enemies of the international rule of law. You shouldn’t be able to support war atrocities without consequences.

How incompetent are the Russians that Ukranians are resupplying Mariupol's defenders right under their noses?

I read somewhere that the Ukrainians still have some armor/BMP operational inside an area of about 4-5 blocs that they control in Mariupol.

does anyone else wish Thread Titles would get changed on big threads like this? I mean the invasion didn’t just begin, it feels like it should be updated to reflect the current state of things.

Would have paid money to hear Waters on bass for this. Still cool, tho.
Haha. Well that wasn't going to happen because Waters is a cunt and sellout.

Prior to the band’s unexpected reconvening, Pink Floyd’s post-1987 output – and the solo work of their late founder, Syd Barrett – was removed from streaming services in Russia and Belarus as part of a cultural boycott. Their most famous work, from the 1960s and 70s, was not removed, leading to rumours that moves to do so had been blocked by former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters, whose relations with his former bandmates are legendarily strained. A week before Russia invaded Ukraine, Waters told an interviewer on Russia Today that talk of a Russian invasion was “bullshit ... anybody with an IQ above room temperature knows [an invasion] is nonsense”; he has subsequently condemned the invasion calling it “the act of a gangster”, while also condemning “propaganda to demonise Russia”. It’s a subject on which Gilmour won’t be drawn. “Let’s just say I was disappointed and let’s move on. Read into that what you will.”

At what point do we start to believe Germany has ulterior motives or considerations?
I havent been following all the German stuff, but from what I remember there was them veto-ing something about Ukraine and now this. Im sure theres more. Isnt Germany still on the Russian gas binge?

Russia probably told Germany they'll double their energy prices to them if they help out Ukraine too much. Something dumb like 5000 helmets is ok, but not hardcore military weapons.

Bunch of sell outs.

Canada is never a military power due to size, but at least here were pretty consistent with contributing to war efforts helping the oppressed with support efforts, money etc....

Waters has always struck me as the type who has his head up his own ass and thinks he’s smarter than he is. Gilmour’s stuff has always been better when they split.

…and that personality type always seems to align on issues like this. Just professional contrarians addicted to the smell of their own farts, missing the forest for the trees whenever the obvious stares them right in the face. Golly gee, why would any of you brainwashed fools think Putin could do something so hein- …ah, well, never the less…

Benjamin Hall, Fox News reporter who survived a Russian attack on his team that killed two of his colleagues last month. He’s well enough now to post an update.

Wow, I knew the Fox News cameraman (sounds like a great guy, who leaves behind a wife and daughter), along with their female Ukrainian interpreter were killed, but I didn't know the reporter got so jacked up.

Getting ready for some yearly transplant check, pretty happy to see this. I made here a small donation, since hospital is sending medical stuff to Ukraine.

IKEM helps Ukraine.

I know it must be strange to see all those Slavic languages which uses different font and character set.

Btw, what's the rules posting other geo situations? Dunno if folks are watching Shanghai but shit is going crazy... I bring it up, since countries always look for a distraction and China using Ukraine and taking irrational actions is increasingly likely. They've already acted like a trash bag country but looks like it could be worse (videos on what's happening are NSFL).
