Compared to the crap that arrogant dude is constantly plugging here? Cancer-level.
Nah they are just other dudes with different opinions like any review place on yt, they don't have better taste\more knowledge than any experienced gamer, just different, their score scale being more comprehnsive is the only thing out of the ordinary.

They didn't even finished death stranding for the review, such high standard for videogame journalism...lmao.

I actually cancelled my subscription becasue of that, and let them know.

The fact that even Edge sucks these days while still being the gold standard, says more about the state of gaming journalism than anything else.

I cry about SonyGaf from my chair in Redmond, WA
6/10 is not terrible buddy its above average actually.
6 - 10 on a score defines the game. 6 is pretty low.

1-5 defines the software behind it. These are only being triggered if the game is riddled with bugs, or is starlight up broken beyond repair.

6 today is what 3 or 4 were back in the days.
Go woke get broke.
This game doesn't fail because it's broke.

We haven't seen a game yet fail because of woke, but some of the most popular games are woke

Yeah, it was said mostly in jest.

And both political sides don't really matter to gaming, but SR just made some bad choices In character design and asthetics.

It might as well be the "The saint hipsters in back to the future 2"

Sharing my couple of cents, I always see a game receiving a 1 through 4 means it is virtually not playable due to bad design or bugs. 1 means the game has a serious error that messes up saves, freezes your system, gets stuck in the same place, basically can not be played.

How can some give a 9 to this?? Not only it's broken, but it's a horrible game all around. Trash world building, with trash tier gunplay, plus worst story ever. They must be involved with the devs.

Probably played the SP mode strictly, avoiding going off path too much so didn't see some of these issues.

I never said they are infallible (see my reply above regarding their Death Stranding thing) or that they can't be "wrong" in a review, just that they've always set the standard. I was just chiming in on the fact that a wannabe game journalist has never heard of Edge.

And for what's it worth, I think 7 is a good score for the first Doom (I liked it but there's so much other stuff I liked better back then) but that's an different discussion altogether.

I was really looking forward to this game. I played the hell out of 3 and 4 and even enjoyed Agents of Mayhem. This game however is buggy....so...very...buggy

Within the first 30 minutes or so, I had to kill the game several times and restart it because during the character creation, the game would stop accepting button input. It wouldn't save my settings. When I was finally able to hop in and play, when I carjacked someone, my character stood there doing nothing for 5 to 8 seconds before finally deciding to get in the car.

I played for about 2 1/2 hours last night and didn't hit any bugs. I also didn't go into the character screen sooooo. Perks didn't appear to work for me but I need to double check tonight.

The game is fun when I can just play ;)

Who says it’s gold standard? It’s fucking shit but unfortunately there’s no other multi format mags now since future took over games TM then closed that down so only Edge could remain.

Lame ass fucking twitter drama

Anyone playing the actual game, any extensive impressions from gaffers?
Played it for 4 hours then gave up. Very basic gameplay, bad and unoptimized graphics, awul writing and characters, awful and very dated feeling main and side missions (basically shoot these guys here, destroy these vehicles with your car there).
The best way i would describe it is that it feels very dated, like a game from when open world games started becoming a genre.

Basically game is so mid and buggy just wait for patches and half off at least. Or a service like game pass/ps plus.

Also started the game now and as a big fan of SR3&4, im really not feeling this.
Where is my The Mix with some 80s bangers? Ugh

The terrible music selection and low audio volume is also something i hate with this.

Ok since I'm one of 6 people on here willing to this a shot despite its... views and reviews, I gave this a shot through "less official" means. It's got all the patches, though you wouldn't think it.

Echoing what others have said. The bugs are real. The open world itself surprisingly free of glitches so far, wonky physics are the same as they've ever been in this series don't bother me. It's when you pull up the character editor/creator things have a big chance of going to shit. Freezing, loading, shit disappearing. Missions will get stuck when enemies don't spawn, have to restart them. Also game CTD'd on me several times in a first few hours, citing something about DX12. I'm on an RTX 2070 and a i5-9600k with more than enough ram. Graphically the game is a mixed bag. Lighting is good to ok(only if you have RTAO on, looks pretty garbage otherwise), locales are varied, but man character models/animations are squarely stuck in PS360 era. Contrary to what I heard, my game was plenty populated with pedestrians everywhere and they reacted to my emotes, but maybe that's because I have a decent rig on high/ultra settings.

Gameplay is somewhere between Saints Row 2 and 3, and I mean that literally. It does not feel like a modern game. Which is kinda a comfort to me as someone who enjoyed those games; disappointing it hasn't really found ways to improve in a meaningful way. Crank up the difficulty, turn down enemy durability, adjust some sensitivity sliders, and shooting is fixed. AI is dumb not 100% braindead. But annoying it wasn't feel good by default. There's a lot of sights to see but not much to really discover. Mission variety is there in situations, but not gameplay. Missions also end too quick; game feels short. Nothing as memorable as SR3's OTT missions, but also nothing as dramatically well built up as SR2.

And finally the most divisive element: the characters and the story. The characters are not as aggressively left wing as I thought they'd be, but they just kinda boring. A bunch of typical college students/dropout slackers. They are most definitely NOT zoomers, they sound old and I'm old. I'm sure the reception would be less repulsed if this game was not called "Saints Row". At least they don't take themselves seriously most of the time, thank god. Rags to riches story once you get past that is again, standard open world stuff... for 2008.

I could go on but it's just an alright game. Nothing to get riled up over, or worthy of a defense force. By all measures, this is much better than Agents of Mayhem, which I thought was truly awful. Then again, I still enjoy PS2/3 games so my tolerance for old game design and jank is probably higher than a lot of people.

Saints Row has always been a stupid fun time for me so I bought it despite the reviews. PS4 version.

So far a couple hours in just messing around and it's quite buggy. I had the 'Drift X' button prompt stuck on my screen even though I wasnt even in or near a vehicle. I was running around and couldn't get it to go away. It finally did at some point. Also one of the first missions I was supposed to get in a shootout with a gang but my first time trying it I punched a dude and he just ran off and nothing else happened lol so I couldn't complete the mission. Had to restart it and all was good.

I saw a lot of people calling it last gen and it doesn't have great graphics by any means but I just played some Saints Row The Third Remastered and this game is definitely better graphically than that. Obviously that's not saying a lot but it's something. Just don't expect great graphics because there aren't any here. They are serviceable I'd say.

Overall so far it's just buggy and the aiming/shooting is crap (it definitely has a last gen feeling in that regard) but it's otherwise a fun game. If you like Saints Row I don't see any reason not to like this aside from the bugs.

Game is mediocre at best. But also not a shitgame like the people who don't own they game trying to tell you.

This has been my experience. I’m not sure the dog pile is warranted but it’s a super generic one of those games. I’ve enjoyed a little bit of it just to space out and cause mayhem without any thought. Working my way through Souls 3 right now, and it hasn’t been the worst counter programming.

They are not and have never been the “Gold Standard”. Edge is just as shit as any other gaming “journalist” these days.

Well all the bugs is the main reason why i won't be getting it, just like the GTA definitive edition, but another reason is, there are no citizen's or pedestrians, it's literally empty of life outside of the combatants, i cant work out why Volition would think this is a good idea, so disappointing, i'm a fan of 2 and 3 aswell, what a waste of time this game is at the moment imo.

This isn't true at all lol. Maybe your game is bugged.

Why does this game has no basic features like a shoulder swap and why can't you change the fucking perspektive on foot or while driving?

Jesus you are not even delivering the bare minimum here.

Also the uzi has an issue where the crosshair reticle is fucked up while the ride shotgun missions.

I've stopped playing until they patch it

The bugs are nuts for me so far but I'm not holding out much hope especially since they said they disabled Adaptive triggers because of axis issues? (Or something like that)

Has anyone the same issues that If you enable the Dualsense triggers that they reversed up and down???

Also why If you disable the hud the crosshair also disapears. Makes no sense to me.

I have to say, that female British voice ( sorry am I meant to say '' body type B voice acting ''? )...
It's probably THE most out of place and weirdest voice acting I've heard in my life.
I genuinely can't think of voice acting that sounds more out of place lol...

I think SkillUp used it for his character in his review.
I've seen others with it too and it's completely baffling to me how they thought that was okay.
It's not even out of place in a funny way either, it's played completely seriously.

The difficulty slider options really make this game stand out in a good way imo. Despite all it's flaws this is one thing it gets very very right.

You can adjust the enemy health, the health of an enemy vehicle vs your own, how many cops come when your notoriety goes up, the scarcity of ammo and more...it's fantastic. All games should be doing this.

The bumping into other cars to knock them off the road is great also. And I'm not sure how other Saints games motorcycle/dirt bikes ride but here it's actually hard to crash them which is great imo. The driving overall is fairly well done. I will say I feel like there should be an option to raise the camera up higher behind the vehicle though. As far as I know there's no option to change views which isn't ideal.

It's the little things like that though that makes this game fun despite it's current issues. I think if it was bug free and the aiming/shooting wasnt basically trash it'd actually be a pretty great game.
