Saints Row The Third |OT| Oscar Worthy Gameplay

So, PC AMD Crossfire driver update/info. All settings using Ultra, 1080p w/ vsync on and monitoring FPS with FRAPS. All this done while outside during both a day *and* night cycle, driving cars and running:
11.11 drivers with 11.11CAP2, CFX disabled ie. single 5850 - solid 30fps Moderate CPU usage over all cores, fully utilising one GPU at around 95-100% (according to MSI Afterburner)
11.11 drivers with 11.11CAP2 - , about 50/50 b/w 60 and 30 on foot, moderate CPU usage across all cores and GPU usage is the same on both cores but VERY inconsistent. Graph indicates it varies b/w around 30% and ~60%.
12.1 prerelease (aka 8.93) drivers, CFX disabled - very much the same as 11.11/CAP2, but indoor (prior to outside, at Shaundi's ex's place) it was running at 60 before I got outside. But outside, it sunk back to 30. Same GPU/CPU usage (roughly) as first example.
12.1 prerelease, CFX enabled - Seemed more likely than 11.11 to get 60fps outside, but was still frequently dropping to (and below) 30fps.
I installed CAP2 as well, but I don't think the profiles were being applied at all... the profile selector in the new PR drivers showed a bunch of games it has profiles for (and there are a LOT) but SR3 did not appear there. I may have to do some tinkering.
In short, you have nothing to lose by going to the PR drivers (save for some mucking around) but the benefits don't quite seem to be there yet.

Curious, does anyone have problems with challenges not going up? For instance I have 19/25 Nut Shots, I go out and Nut Shot 6 people.... and it still says 19/25. PC version if it matters.
Cops and civilians don't count, try nut-shotting gang members.

Any idea how to quickly spawn Survival challenges? I'm post game and still need to do about 22 of them. They usually come when I'm at my HQ but any way to get them more quickly would be appreciated.

Which activity do you get the tron bike? does anyone have a list?
I'm not completely sure about this, but I think it depends on your current location. My cellphone wasn't ringing for an extremely long time and then when I went to my airplane hangar crib (to work on the basejumping challenge) I got three or four calls in a row for survival challenges while in that area.

I am getting more into this game after a few more missions and activities; driving is still a downer for me, but I am just accepting that and enjoying the shooting mechanics, which are solid. The biggest downer for me right now are the radio stations; just terrible. I made a mixtape station that basically has the whole Mix 107.7 on it with a few others mixed in. It is just strange to me that they blew their wad on top names for Mix 107.7 and the others, especially Kryhme just suck.
The voice that plays when you select the voice option. It also didn't help that the default selection for the Male 3 voice looked Hispanic.

Finished the game last night. Volition truly outdid themselves, had I been a professional reviewer I'd have given it perfect marks across the board.
I just wish I hadn't known so much about the game, pretty much every significant surprise (characters, missions etc) was spoiled by THQ's marketing team. When Saints Row 4 comes out I'm going into media blackout day one.

Still not finish with the story, but man the little things makes me burst out laughing.

The drug effect was awesome. I actually felt a bit dizzy. Then I tried to snipe someone and the camera would spin in circles pretty much hah.

Yeah I've got about 40 hours under my belt. Finished the story, all assassinations, all chop shop missions, all activities, and pretty much all incidental achievements. Not to mention quite a bit of just fucking around for the sake of it.
I'll have to go back and look for that thing in the casino, I missed it.

Yeah, the way I'm driving sometimes, is like people want to jump in front of my car. Talking about cars, the TRON activities doesn't give you just the bike; no-no, it gives you a TRON car as well. Beatiful black car with red and yellow neons covered all over.

Yeah my favorite gangs members are the strippers but I can't remember if they unlocked through activities or story progression though.

quick question. i am thinking about going out and picking this up. do i need to have played the first two to enjoy this or does it pretty much stand on it's own? i think i played the demo for the first one but never got around to buying it. then i bought the second one for like 10 bucks about a year ago. i played it for about 30 minutes and then it went onto the pile of shame. i really want to check this out. does it stand on it's own pretty well story-wise?

You absolutely do not have to have played the first two. Some of the characters are reoccurring, but you'll get what they're all about in context. Other than that there are a few throwaway references to characters or events from the old games but nothing significant.
THANK YOU! I posted twice in this thread and didn't hear anyone voice the same concern. I'm on the PS3 and I feel like the guns and cars lack "oomph" and are pretty quiet. I've even had an audio bug occur when I jumped out of a car, so while I was running around (and after the car had exploded) I was still hearing the acceleration/gears changing sound.
So either I was glitched or my guy was making car sounds with his mouth. Generally, when driving, I just tell myself I'm driving a hybrid based on how quiet the cars are.

Yeah, just under 100mb for me. Hopefully makes the game run a little better.
The audio mix is really not good in all versions for some reason.
Good, The Third is a fantastic game.
But I'd say give SR2 another chance.
I don't need "50 cent shit"; just some quality shit. If you think it is great underground stuff I respect that..for me, not many of the songs are worth listening to.
