I am ok with this. The DNC needs to suffer.
I'm at a loss for words right now.

Having a night to think about this, I stand by what I said earlier. I think it was within limits to make the request, and isn't "threaten to halt the convention" a bit of a stretch? I mean I know the majority of GAF have it out for him, but I think partiality works both ways. But back to my original point, Barney Frank I know especially doesn't like Bernie, so I think its reasonable for Bernie to want someone less biased.
RE: Cornell West: Well of course Bernie was going to pick someone he agreed with, was he not? And hey, for all the things Cornell says, he's more humane than any politician on Palestine, he acknowledges the link of racial discrimination to wealth inequality. Heck he even campaigned for Obama before attacking him, so I think his words are born out of a genuine disappointment.
Overall I don't think its that much of an issue, Sanders was naive to think he could just run a positive campaign. He was going against Hillary Clinton, someone who was destined to be president ever since Obama lost. You kind of need methods like these in a Machiavellian sort of way, for the good of the people.
Last thing I want to say is a question: where were you guys when Hillary literally did not drop out until the last minute in 08? Heck that's even worse because Obama and Hillary were carbon copies of one another, with her being more of a warmonger but that's about it.
But is he bought and paid for by the establishment??
Honestly, I think a lot of it comes down to likeability. He just seems so much more authentic than she does. Whether that makes him more or less qualified to be President is up to the individual, but I think that's why he gets so much more love from some on the left.

Yes, the DNC, who aims to benefit & further the interests of the most vulnerable people in America (LGBT, PoC, etc), needs to suffer because... your guy lost?I am ok with this. The DNC needs to suffer.
Wait. It's Hillary Clinton's fault now that Sanders is in desperate mode doing all this BS?
She was the one holding a gun to his head when he threw PP under the bus with the rest and all?
Obama lost by being reelected?
And what kind of revisionist history are you trying to write where Clinton wasn't put on blast for not dropping out?
Do not drive today, you may have taken something.
You can see how emotionally invested we all are with this drama (that no one will remember, care for after the convention) by how everyone who quoted me forgot to read the "not related to the topic" part of my post.
Bernie lost. The reasons are multiple, but he had his chance and failed. Him putting a bit of pressure against the DNC is only part of his future political goals, I guess.
There wont be a reconciliation, there cant be. But he wont ever dare to be the person who elected Trump.
There always has been.Suffer, well I'm glad some people admit that this was never about democracy or progressive ideals....but to cause a chaos and disrupt, shades of Trump
I'm not saying that, I just don't blame him given the reality of the situation. No one expected him to come this far, heck people thought O'Malley would beat him! I think deep down he knows he aint gonna win, but by staying in here longer he can show the world just how popular and important his platform will be, especially in the future.

Yeah, the sacrifice of the last major party behaving in a rational manner to meet the whims of an irrational ideologue and his cult.Yeah, I'm not sure this is the hill the Democratic Party wants to die on. Give him some concessions, bring him into line, and bring his supporters into the fold. The end. Not saying that he should get to bring his whole election platform as the party platform, but giving him some significant contributions proportionate to the delegates he won isn't unreasonable.
The "fuck Bernie Sanders and supporters" sentiments here risk costing the Dems everything in November. There's too much at stake, man.
Yeah, the sacrifice of the last major party behaving in a rational manner to meet the whims of an irrational ideologue and his cult.
I'd rather Trump win. Capitulating to Sanders will result in the same shit the GOP has gone through in capitulating to the southern strategy base turned Tea Party. That is all Sanders is, the leader of the left wing Tea Party. All he offers is more division, more ideology over fact, and more partisan rancor. Trump is a four year poison, letting Sanders extort the party opens the door for untold years of complete partisan fuckery at a time when there are national and global issues that need attention this decade.
Sanders and his cult can drive the nation off a cliff for the next four years if that is their response to not being allowed to destroy any chance at progress for the next 20-30.
Umm most people are replying to your DNC should suffer part.
Most of us were reacting to your comment about the DNC, which is related to the topic.
Well the suffer part was just tongue in cheek. My "" wasnt clear enough, I guess.
The DNC is not a holy place of fairness and justice, it is an institution that has humans interacting with power, it is not above criticism.
Bernie is justified to use the electorate mandate he has garnered to further his positions against the ideological mafia that controls part of the economic / foreign policy message of the democratic party since The Ronald.

Bite your tongue. We have SCOTUS to worry about.
So the narrative went to "Vote Clinton to stop Trump!' to just "Vote Clinton because Bernie is worse than Trump." The fact is "Bernie and his cult" are for wealth equality, not treating Palestinians like second class citizens, not inciting wars and violence on a foreign level etc.
I can't believe Bernie's mild left wing policies that are already in place in Europe and Canada are called the "left wing tea party".
Seeing as how Sanders is polling ahead of Trump and Clinton is polling below Trump maybe they should be listening to him?

Unless of course they want Trump as president.

What Bernie doing is making "socialism" a dirty word for another 20 years
Once again: fuck the will of the voters, right?

I'd rather deal with a whiney left-wing tea party than a conservative SCOTUS.
The DNC is not a holy place of fairness and justice, it is an institution that has humans interacting with power, it is not above criticism.
Yup. Going down in flames like this is doing nothing but making sure anyone who is a socialist doesn't get a platform for a long ass time, for completely different reasons than before. What Bernie doing is making "socialism" a dirty word for another 20 years
I'm half of a mind to say fuck SCOTUS, if we have to choose between conservative SCOTUS for the next 30 years and having to deal with whiny left tea party for 30 years at least the conservative SCOTUS can make sense at times.
He doesn't give a shit about wealth inequality, Palestinian (seriously who does, they're mostly political football at this point) or anything.
He clearly doesn't care that he's making a bad name for his brand anyway.
And I'm from Europe by the way and we wouldn't elect this guy either.
There's a reason Jean Luc Melenchon is an irrelevant douchebag and not even part of the current leftist coalition.
Ha! Good, man

Hillary supporters on NeoGAF want a democrat to campaign against Bernie for his senate seat. They aren't going to forget.
They think he is worse than Trump.
I'm not making this up. They have overwhelmingly agreed that Bernie is worse than Trump.
I don't understand it. I can see why people don't like his campaign. I don't like his campaign. His campaign has been poorly managed and many of the people Bernie has chosen to surround himself with in his campaign are awful, but to say that Bernie is as bad or worse than Trump is ridiculous.
Come on, guys. Bernie isn't this awful person that you claim him to be. He isn't Trump.

Wasn't the argument before "bite your tongue we have SCOTUS to worry about"?

So what you are saying is... Hillary or bust?!
No, I'm saying fuck Sanders.
I'd take anyone else at this point.
