Game review puns are best left to the professionals at Gametrailers.Feep said:The thing I'm most angry about is that no one mentioned the amazing pun in my review, the section header on the part talking about the story.
I don't know why it's amusing, Xenoblade is excellent. Apparently, so is Skyward Sword.Cygnus X-1 said:The amusing thing is that Xenoblade will end up having a better average than SS.

Maybe I should just shop a Link hat on instead...
Translated from another language and still more comprehensible than the Giantbomb review.Gameblog.fr said:One thing's for sure: Skyward Sword will divide. Its numerous qualities, among which the changes of scenery, the ingeniousness of the puzzles, make it able to provide us with a quest rich with intense moments, but some imprecision and lengthy sections prevent it from becoming the new and reformed shiny prince the series needed. If the Wii MotionPlus gameplay enables the immersion to go a step further, it requires a rigorous play style and will spawn some frustrations when it sometimes (rarely) doesn't work perfectly well. A beautiful adventure remains, still, proud to be the hallmark of the 25th anniversary of Link, Zelda & co... but not sufficiently sparkling to eclipse the infinite magic of the Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past episodes.
9/10

I guess people don't care. We already got some apeshit reviews, even if the score wasn't apeshit; Also the major publications, bar gamespot, have already given it pretty high scores, mostly 10/10 (GI, IGN, Guardianm Jeuxvideo). So beside lowering MC score, I think there's not much left that lower scares may do.cajunator said:Where is the really low score that makes everybody go apeshit?
Uncharted fans got some of those. Why do we always have to play second fiddle?

When you have a website that rates a game like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, part of a franchise that continually uses the same basic gameplay elements with small changes here and there, higher than an iconic and revolutionary game like Skyward Sword, you know you have issues.
you won't regret it. i'm sure you've heard it many times but it really is a phenomenal gameAniHawk said:i guess i'll have to order xenoblade after i'm all finished with this skyward sword nonsense.

Ok, that's it folks. NO MOAR ZELRUDA GAMES!
It has the same kind of exploration and adventure of Skies of Arcadia.AniHawk said:i guess i'll have to order xenoblade after i'm all finished with this skyward sword nonsense.

Aonuma didn't really do anything more than Miyamoto did this time.Cygnus X-1 said:No more Zelda in Aonuma's hands: it is now really time. He better start working on something else and EAD Tokyo better handle the next Zelda.
Feep said:I even mentioned the Disney thing myself in my review, but "wide cast" is ridiculous. The number of named NPCs in this game is shockingly, shockingly low.
I'm in the middle, I guess. It was good, but nothing mindblowing.

I count six with any sort of developed personality.KefkaTaran said:Perhaps "wide" isn't the best choice of word, but I also think "shockingly low" is an exaggeration. I still think it compares quite nicely to the number of important/interesting characters you'd find in a good animated film.
I also wouldn't call the story elements mindblowing. Just a big step up for the franchise, IMO.

Except axe the motion controls, which if he had stuck to it, probably would have resulted in a higher rating.
I probably shouldn't have highlighted that. Damn highlighting reflexes, this is what happens when spoiler tags are often used for jokes also lol ._.Feep said:I count six with any sort of developed personality.(Seven, if you double count...you know.)
Cygnus X-1 said:Yeah, but at this point, wouldn't be really better to let a different team, with a different director to handle the series?
Meanwhile the team that usually made Mario games made a game that sold thirty million copies.Cygnus X-1 said:Yeah, but at this point, wouldn't be really better to let a different team, with a different director to handle the series?
They are so pussycats! Look at Galaxy: it was the first Mario made by a team out of Miyamoto's hands and it became suddenly the best. Oh, wrong: Galaxy 2 was even better.
And Metroid: Other M was under the hands of Sakamoto, while Prime wasn't. What is the best game?
One of the very few things Reggie said that actually were true: change is good.
Please Nintendo.
Nintaiyo said:Is that how it seems? Most complaints I've read have to do with the actual level design/structure than motion controls.
well shitMailenstein said:Just in case people, stay away from YouTube etc. for the next few days, because the game got leaked online now.
Bring back Aonuma!KefkaTaran said:Skyward Sword was done by a largely new Zelda team with a new director. Aonuma was only a producer this time around.
