Bizarre that some are comparing this to Skyrim.

It doesn't have moe Zelda, which docks it some serious points.TSA said:Xenoblade Chronicles might be the best Wii game. That game is amazing.

Shading Other M?EatChildren said:Hopefully Nintendo takes note from these tragic scores and realises Zelda desperately needs a revival, possibly something along the lines of Other M.
Why is that? Do you need some sort of accreditation from metacritic or something?Feep said:I am also pretty positive G4TV is not considered by Metacritic. I won't hurt your precious score, GAF.
ivysaur12 said:Nintendo made a choice long ago on where they are prioritizing their control schemes. If you don't like that certain path, that's fine. But also realize that opinion on Skyward Sword's controls will put you in the vast minority of opinions. Even the most negative reviews so far have lauded the control scheme while only one has lamented its use.
The entire game is based around MotionPlus. The game wouldn't exist with a typical controller, you can't just wish you could play it with one when it wouldn't work. Now, do you wish you could play a new Zelda without motion control? Fine. But that's not the game you're reviewing or one that even exists.
This is my position. I know that Wii pointer controls for FPSes can be very good, so I immediately dismiss an opinion one that says otherwise. My wii has seen a fair amount of play time, so a piece that starts with "wii has no games" or "is collecting dust" is something that probably won't resonate with my taste.walking fiend said:4. Some reviews are obviously written with a background in mind, like the way game-pro or GB reviews starts by bashing Wii and motion control in general. People don't take them much serious I suppose.
I almost feel like pretending to have a meltdown to make you feel better. It's just not the same if it's not from my heart though.EatChildren said:I honestly feel cheated. Sub 90 Metacritic will ease the pain though.

Quite a few are in there, but generally the bigger driver is when you get a lot of 9's.Truth101 said:It will drop when the 8/10s and 8.5s are added.

Major games usually end up with 50-90 reviews.
Comment on the G4 review page said:Skyward Sword, reviewed by some dude named Jason Wishnov who no one knows or gives a damn about. Recycled content, and MW3 got a 5? I'm sorry and this site may have just nerd baited me into writing this but this is why this site is so unpopular. This is complete garbage. The reviews are inconsistent and the scoring makes little to no sense.
Maybe this site could be taken seriously if game reviews had some consistency to them, at all. Maybe you would get more than 4 comments in an hour on your site if anybody gave a damn what you guys gave it. Give MW3 a 5 and Skyward Sword a 4...and this is why I'm not going to visit this site anymore.

Seriously, if that many people are still giving it 100's and 90's people, it isn't going to be a bad game. At all.Mistle said:Am I the only the that looks at this and thinks "awesome"?

I dunno, kind of a lame-ass hate surge if you need to scrape comment pages. I won't believe until this thread has become a conflagration.Feep said:Oh man, the hate is coming on in!![]()

They gave MW3 a 5/5? That does make me mad! I need to tip something over.Feep said:Oh man, the hate is coming on in!![]()

My main interest usually isn't in the reviews themselves, as I play a lot of lower rated games, but I just like statistics. :lolTruth101 said:I see, I don't really pay attention to Metacritic much, so I didn't know.

hyduK said:Again, they made a choice. As such, if the reviewers don't like the choice they're allowed to dock points for it. If it's a third party dev working within technical limitations of a console I would say that it's unfair...but since it's not it's perfectly fine for someone to shave a point off if they felt that choosing to go for a traditional control scheme would have resulted in a more responsive and better experience.
To reiterate:
Developer has no choice but to do something, does it to the best of their abilities, still docked points - WRONG.
Developer has two choices, chooses to go a way that the reviewer (whether or not their in the minority) doesn't think best suits the game, docks points - PERFECTLY FINE.
Of course not.TheGreatMightyPoo said:Were you the one that reviewed Madden Warfare 3 though???
Just curious.
So it sounds like you're very likely the worst villain to ever grace the Zelda series. How does that make you feel?Lord Ghirahim said:Xenoblade is godly. It would be a potent system seller if Nintendo pushed it appropriately.

I kind if wish I had, though. I would have 3/5'ed that shit, I'm totally serious.
