Nicely-written post. For what it's worth, as someone who's totally guilty of bitching about forum over-reaction to review scores and such, I actually think this thread (so far) has been really calm and collected and had some good discussion. LET'S ALL GIVE OURSELVES A ROUND OF APPLAUSE, GAF.
Not sure who, I think Tom Chick, said a short while ago that while every console (not to mention the master race) has some pretty moronic fanboys, overall the Nintendo crowd is a lot less malicious. I think that's true, nowadays many Nintendo fanboys revel in being disappointed, it happened so often. I also reckon most are a bit older than the average gamer populace.

I wish this game was in my hands so I could even review it. Thats what I wish.
THATS WHAT I WISH.
*knocks over motherfucking magazine stands.

This 5 point scale is so fucking dumb. So, there are games with 80% score, and right after we can only see 100%?

No you have four star and after that you have five stars.

The reviews are pretty good so far. Then again I pre-ordered the LE so even if this game was the worst Zelda title ever I'd still be playing it on day one.

This may be true, but I still got some pretty horrible insults thrown my way before readers had played it for giving Metroid: Other M a 6.25.

95 on Meta with 18 reviews.
Hey Feep, is the save system ever any kind of hindrance to the game? Like Majora's Mask, where it often interfered with the gameplay experience?

Noo.
No furries fetiches? You should have scored it 2/5.

People had to vent at someone...

I thought Klepek's review was decent enough. Obviously, there's disagreement on how change is enough. It's definitely valid.

That said, it's been 5 god damn years. The fatigue with the formula must be rare by now. More Zelda is fine- the fact they've bloody gone and actually done new shit with the series is icing on the cake.

Any idea why Metacritic might not include G4? Is it because Sessler openly despises them?
I believe Sessler convinced G4 to formally request that they be removed from the MetaCritic system, as he felt that it hurt the industry.

Nah, it's fine.

Now now.

You'd be lucky to catch someone like Feep into your net. I'd still propose, but do it ironically at first.

I find it telling when you organize the MetaCritic reviews by "Most Clicked" - you really see what has the most influence....

Not surprisingly - Game Informer is on top.

I actually didn't know you could do this. I'm a little surprised, though flattered.

EDIT: It looks like they had that link in going to my 10/10 announcement/excerpt from last week -- so the "most clicked" may only be because it's been up there WAY longer than everyone else's.

Reading through more of the reviews now, apologies Feep for asking a question that you answered quite clearly within your review.

Man, very disappointing though. Along with this,

So no ice or snow dungeon and no Zora race.

I'm starting to worry. Granted, a lot of reviews don't mention the 3 area thing as a con and lack of area/dungeon diversity, so hopefully it isn't as bad as it seems, because... it seems bad lol.

so its the worst mainline zelda ever? guess the impression i got from the initial e3 uncovering were right

It's either the new best or 'kinda the worst but only because we're sick of this stuff'

Actually no, Alberto is right, worst game ever. Time to pre-order

I've only read the excerps so far in the OP and IGN's, but it seems that most reviewers feel this is a fresh/different take on the series. And some see it as a ok thing and others as great thing, like Rich. I'm with the Rich so far, because I think the series needed something fresh an new after giving us TP.

I don't know if this is the right thread to ask, but it seems to be the most active... I have two preorders on the limited edition and I'm seriously considering picking both up, one to play and the other one to collect/sell off in a few years. Is this a good idea?
