I'm not necessarily talking about their potential depiction in Smash Bros., just that they're combat weapon specialists like Snake. The Inklings deal in fantastical ink-based weaponry and Snake deals in realistic weaponry. Nobody else in Smash Bros. fills that niche conceptually. The comparisons between Inkling and Snake don't make a lot of sense to me, especially when we don't even know their moveset in Smash yet (assuming they are in Smash).

Wait a sec. I still don't completely trust him, and I know this is a long shot for a number of reasons, but here goes.
Sean Hicks is the one that Tweeted "Why be Squids when you can be Kids," right? What if he didn't mean the Inklings or the Chorus Kids, but he actually meant Skull Kid, and he'll be revealed after the Zelda Symphony on Colbert tonight?
Odds are low, since Skull Kid's already an AT and Nintendo was too afraid to announce Pac-Man at their own event, let alone network television, but I just thought this crazy theory might put some wind back in our sails.

That would be insane. Majora's Mask is the GOAT and I love the Skull Kid. I still would prefer the Inklings though.Wait a sec. I still don't completely trust him, and I know this is a long shot for a number of reasons, but here goes.

Odds are honestly negligible, since Skull Kid's already an AT and Nintendo was too afraid to announce Pac-Man at their own event, let alone network television, but I just thought this crazy theory might put some wind back in our sails.
Or maybe all the newcomers are children so it's Chorus Kids, Skull kid and Ashley?Wait a sec. I still don't completely trust him, and I know this is a long shot for a number of reasons, but here goes.

I'm going to be bummed if the rumors don't pan out. The Inklings are such a perfect fit for Smash Bros. They're like a more Nintendo-oriented Snake.
Right... At any rate, Jack Frost still is the only ATLUS rep I would be fine with. It is not that I dislike Persona or SMT, it is just that I don't want more anime people in Smash (besides Isaac, who I don't support, but who would be a reasonable addition to the roster). I understand this opinion might be unpopular around here, but one of the things I like the most about Smash are the unorthodox roster, with all sorts of weird creatures fighting each other. Characters like the Fire Emblem ones, ZSS and the Kid Icarus cast (to a considerable lesser extent) are just boring to me (and I consider myself to be a big fan of Ike and his games). As would be a Persona/SMT character. Jack Frost, on the other hand, would be really cool. Especially if he had a Black Frost alt:
Why would the Pirate Ship stage be "tagged" with a Donkey Kong Country Returns enemy name (Tiki Buzz)? For the same reason the placeholders for the new characters are tagged "Mario"? Edit: Anyways, if we get a newcomer, surely they will come a new stage as well.
Tiki Tong for Smash!Maybe it's a teaser for upcoming Donkey Kong character and stage!

Well the Twitterererererererers seem to have stayed quiet for 24 hours so that's pretty news worthy.
Oh for fuck's sakes. All over knowing about an upcoming character in a cartoony fighting game before other people do too.Technically not really. Zef tweeted about Reddit sending him death threats because of him knowing information.
So no news huh, after all that fanfare.

It was rumored to happen on the 14th.Direct's not supposed to be until the 16th I thought? What were people expecting?
It was rumored to happen on the 14th.
Same.I'll give it until Friday. After that...
Educated guesses.Weren't all the dates for the direct and release and stuff just speculation by someone on twitter? I thought there were two seperate things, the datamined Splatoon stuff (which was accompanied by guesses at a direct date and a release date) and the Smash Bros insider info (which had a vague "soon" or "this month" ETA but no firm dates).
Or am I confused?

I'm betting on the 16th. Too much smoke. There's gotta be fire.

Same.
Listening on the actual Gaur Plains music, I'm wondering why it was cut in Smash. The whole song fits the 4 min mark.
I think the cuts to music actually were mostly intended to bring songs down to around 2 minutes, not 4. At least that's what the cut-down versions of Id ~Purpose~ and the DK rap would seem to suggest.
On the subject, I wish the second music track for Gaur Plains was "One Who Gets in Our Way" instead of "You Will Know Our Names".
On the 3DS, I mean. We have "YWKON" and Gaur Plain in that version. "YWKON" is great, but the track I mentioned is just too good.but YWKON is great. They should just instead cut the "common enemy battle theme" Time to Fight.
but YWKON is great. They should just instead cut the "common enemy battle theme" Time to Fight. Even PxZ2 prefers YWKON and Confrontation with the Enemy.
With that said, WHERE THE HELL IS THE XENOBLADE TITLE THEME?
Xenosaga music would be random though.
Unless they reveal KOS-MOS. But then boobies and her chest blast.
Nothing says platform based fighting antics like that piece. Really gets the heart pumping.
Well done for spotting my cunning reveal. Here's a reward:
It can't possibly compete with the pulsating tension of pieces like 'Environmental Noises' or 'Midna's Lament', I agree.
That's a depressing thought.Random thought
Wondering whether the "awesome news" that Roger was actually hinting at was Twilight Princess HD
