Come on people, let's do it
While I know people already think there's too many Mario characters in Smash, Cpt. Toad would offer a lot of unique fighting opportunities as he's not really a fighter. His moveset could consist of some simple but effect moves, like plucking turnips out of the ground and throwing them, charging up his pickaxe and smacking people with it like a weaker version of the hammer. Some fun opportunities to use the Double Cherry in his moveset for Ice Climber style moves. Instead of jumping he could have a creature appear to lift him up a la Duck Hunt Duo. Final Smash could involve the Toad Brigade, idk. Toadette skin swap, obviously.
Captain N is a little difficult to justify, given that he hasn't ever been in a game and also due to Duck Hunt Duo taking a lot of his potential moves, but there's still a lot of room for a moveset consisting of "90's Nintendo Fanservice". Moveset would involve using his zapper, obviously, and his final smash could consist of him using his super powers to "Pause" the game, with that little four-note jingle from Super Mario Bros and the "PAUSE" on the middle of the screen, while he beats up the other players.
It's not difficult to see why people are excited for Splatoon, the game has style in droves, no less so evident that with the female Inkling. A moveset filled with useage of various ranged paint weapons which could potentially actually "paint" the stage (at least on the WiiU where it could take the strain), with a limited amount of paint that disappears when more is used. The paint could slow and/or damage other characters, depending on what paint is used, and the Inkling could quickly traverse it as a squid. Final Smash? Giant Roller, of course.
A lot of people joke about Tingle, and I'd be just as happy to get Groose or Gilgrahim as a character, but there's so much more you can do with a character as different as Tingle. His moveset could involve him being very weak to start, and he gets more powerful the more rupees he collects, which fall from people when hit, a la coins in coin mode. I'd want to get the Postman involved as well somehow, but that's just because he's a pretty cool dude. I have literally no idea what you'd do for a final smash, Tingle is an enigma to me, which makes his roster space all the more enticing
