Heard the track on Ebro/Styles/Rosenberg this morning driving the wife (obsessed with Drake) to the train. That shit was brutal.

Question: should Meek even respond at this point or should he just lie down and take it and hope it goes away. Other than hoping to boost some sales, can he even gain anything (respect) from prolonging this?

If it's not better than Back to Back he should just

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Please stop....lol.

Man in this day and age with everyone being on social networks you really have to come up with your response in a fashion otherwise you look bad. Less Twitter and more recording.

Just looking at what Meek dropped the last couple years I don't see what he can really come up with. The "Drake is fake and soft" Lane is kinda played out. It'll be interesting. Might be a make or break moment for his career... Well and his relationship with Nicki lol.

I didn't like the delivery, sounded the opposite of being charged up, but's it full of subs. I appreciate that more in a diss track than "FUCK JAY-Z"

Besides that's not his style.

EDIT: Def not dissing Ether, lol. Just saying that's not what I expect from Drake. If he comes out talking about rolling up on Meek with the burner, i'm rolling my eyes.

Thought I was the only.

Same reason i liked exodus from pusha.

I don't even like Drake, but lord. First he's introducing some cloud rap production shit to the masses with Charged Up. And now he's got a bass heavy track that has some lines in it.

If Meek comes back with a track, it will be ghost written -- he'd have to rise from the grave Drake just stuck him in first.

Heard BacktoBack early this morning going to work. That Nicki line was scathing. Meek has no choice but to respond. Drake really shifted wigs with this one.

Lol that whataburger tweet. Sheesh

Edit: real surprised if Meek comes back from this. Id think he gonna ja rule. Sport websites are talking about the song, twitter in a uproar, I kinda feel bad for meek now. What can he do?

He brought it on himself. Being a hater doesn't pay off, kids.

Meek should have come up with a clever response after Charged up..that was his window to back up his BS. He failed to deliver and didnt expect Drake to come with a track like Back 2 Back in the couple of days. Probably didnt expect Drake to really respond at all.

Right now it feels like whatever he delivers now wont be as effective since he took way to long and Drake more or less already finished it.

Hah.

wow

The second track was good enough that it warrants a response from Meek. A response in a track not through a tweet or some thing. And it better come out before a 3rd diss track from Drake comes out or his career is over.

He better respond with something good. This wont go away. Drake fanbase is huge and people in social media will remember this. Nobody will take him seriously if Drake out of all rappers the one he accuses of having ghost writters bodies him easily.

EDIT: Shit now that I think about it.. I gotta give props to Jay for surviing Ether. I don't see many rappers currently active being able to survive if a diss track like Ether was dropped on upon them.

Imagine if K-dot v Drake finally comes to light..
Injured_player_eating_popcorn.gif

KDot worse than Meek when it comes to this. He has the ability to body both of them but he's just sitting back doing his thing.

Control was calculated, he had no intention of following any of that up.

King of New York my ass.

please, k dot still waiting for someone to respond to his control verse

8tsKfel.gif

Contrary to (unfortunately) popular belief, Control was not a typical diss track. It was more of a call for rappers to try harder and raise the bar. If he dissed anyone he dissed the city of NY and pop culture (like rappers popping mollies lol)

Drake stans going hard for their man.

This beef is dumb as shit. So I'm not suprised everything going on around it is equally dumb as shit.

and we all know it wont matter how hard meek goes at drake... everyone is still gonna ride for Aubrey.

Not too surprising, both artists hit with good tracks and both were hugely successful, skillful, and had lyrical skill to be able to actually compete against each other and actually increase each others success, rather then one MC getting bodied and falling off the face of the earth.

Difference is this time is Drake is actually the only one fighting, whilst Meek is just bitching on twitter and probably expected other rappers to back him up and reveal some dirt on Drake. However most people either A. Didn't have dirt on him or B. Knew that targeting drake would be suicide for someone who does not have such radical support like him as Drake Stans are some of the worsed

Dumb as shit beef got you posting on it...

But on the real, to me its better than Rap beefs that started over a woman. Meek came at Drake saying that he doesnt' write his own raps. That's a huge allegation. No matter what. If you are a fan of hip hop you cant ignore this.

Drake is bodying Meek right now, but I cant have much respect for a hip hop artist who doesn't write his own verses...

Drake takes an L from Hip hop fans... Meek takes an L from everyone.

Exactly, that's why Flex is taking an L for this too. I don't think he meant to troll people. I think the Drake machine (yes.. he has an entire organization of influential supporters) caught wind of what Flex wanted to drop and got to him first.

It's not Ether at all, but if that's the only line you got from it I suggest you listen again...

And Meek started this ish, he's getting bodied by default for not responding.

Its like sucker punching a dude and then refusing to fight them... its a bad look

Different people having different opinions is fine.

No one said this was ether and no one would expect a track like this when talking about Meek vs. Drake. At some point you gotta have realistic expectations. These New Generation cats don't beef much, especially not between themselves... So Drake putting pressure on Meek like this is definitely entertaining.

You should maybe check rap genius since you probably missed a couple of jabs if only recognized the line about the girls tour.

What if meek is waiting to have two tracks ready just in case Drake already has one ready to drop immediately after meek drops one so then meek can immediately respond but then whole time Drake had one ready too just in case. Meek needs 3 tracks ready to go imo

I don't even think its a "what if" at this point, its basically what Drake is doing. You have a bait track (Charged up) and a response track that you keep in the chamber waiting for them to fire back. The only difference is... Meek gave Drake 4 days... I guess that was long enough to put out a harder hitting bait track (Back 2 Back).

I'm 100% positive track 3 is already finished

It also had no one actually raising the bar and people were over it in a couple weeks.
How the gell would you even qualify raising the bar? Who decides what and which level is acceptable? None of the cats mentioned in the track really responded because they rather keep making money. You only had irrelevant du desire Papoose trying to play the tough guy.

I'm pretty convinced most current beefs are manufactured for press and and fans to keep interest going.

100% agree, but I don't get that feeling with this one. I feel like Meek expected everyone to pile on soft, emotional, Canadian Drake after going at him. Then, while Meek was in Toronto, he was gonna claim the city. I promise you that was his plan.

Problem is, Drake is a brand. I mean think about this, have you ever seen this in your life before? A politician, A fast food restaurant, and a porn site all getting in on a rap beef?

Meek had no idea what he was getting into imo.

Levels

EDIT: I'm not caping up for Drake, i'm simply saying that Meek did not anticipate this defense force
