So how badly do you think the EA-touch will affect TS3?

I've always been a fan of the GE/PD/TS2 engine, it's my favorite one for consoles so I'm really looking forward to TS3. With EA publishing TS3 instead of EIDOS, It's only natural to be a bit worried with the final outcome of the game. I have confidence in Free Radical when it comes to the gameplay and such, but the EA part really has me worried.

They better not switch to licensed music, an overhyped wannabee announcer and embedded advertisements from Reebok, McDonald's or whatever other company EA has been in talks with.

I'm not sure since I don't watch Spike TV, but he was on the Spike TV awards show when they accepted Burnout 3's award, and of course he's the annoying announcer in Burnout 3

That's the guy. He hosts that Ultimate Gamer thing on Spike TV. He's like a giant book of late 80's early 90's quotes. "We're going to check out HALO 2! IT'S TOTALLY GNARLY!"

Listen you people need to chill if anything EA will enchance the game.

Say what you will but EIDOS releases far more garbage than EA.

If you ask me most EA games have a high polish, I loved them until they buried sega with guerrela tactics.

Remember when you all were crying about EA publishing Burnout three?
What did we see, something far greater than all the Burnouts before it.

I think the same will happen with Timesplitters

He's KROQ's shitty DJ in LA.

Exactly what did EA do with Burnout 3? Add an annoying annoucer, EA Trax and a suped up GUI menu?

Added a bunch of bullshit "play mechanics" and then collapsed the core fundamental of the design because of one stupid decision.

Burnout 2 was better... super catchup ai and the casualgamerizing of the burnout meter of Burnout 3 made it not as good as 2... and aftertouch... don't get me started

Burnout 3 is not a better game becuase of EA...

I finished TimeSplitters 3 (not a finished build, some cutscenes where not in, and some polish to be added I'm sure, sadly it's not all that. It's pretty funny at moments, but the shooter part is just really plain ass boring. Characters are pretty cool, like in the previous ones I understand. But yeah, the gameplay is just not up to par.

It's pretty much Goldeneye, but then with some humor and some nice characters. It really made me think of the James Bond first person shooter spoof game, no one lives forever?

The graphics are also in a pretty sad state (this was xboxversion), it looked really bad. and framerate was horrible at places, but that framerate issue will be smoothed out I'm sure.

Wish it was more fun to play, the humor was pretty cool at places. You can see those guys making it are funny. Can't tell you wether this is because of EA, didn't play the last Timesplitters.

But if EA makes games 'generic' so that everyone 'sorta' but not 'overly' likes them. Then it could be becuase of them, becuase like I said the shooter part was not fun, and totally boring. It will improve slightly, the quality, but still. From this version i played alone I don't get why people are so crazy 'bout the series.

Radical's facial animation system is awesome though, they should licence that out, most other games can use such detail in facial movement.

I never thought I would see the day that I would prefer Edios over aonter publisher (not named Acclaim) but here it is.

I have it on xbox,

Annocer OFF

Soundtrack Custom

All problems eliminated.

The only change I didn't like was when using boost you cannot burn out.
For a while I was playing and making sure I didn't use all of my boost I did by accident once and thought, "What the hell!?!" Then I kept on playing.

Come on man these cars are beautiful and unbelievable fast.

Got to play the game myself (same build as Kobold I guess) at the Free Radical studios, and you shouldn't worry about EA messing things up. TS:FP much feels like the previous games, but with some improvements. e.g.: the controls system is now customisable (you can still choose the old GoldenEye-ish control sheme, but now default controls are based on the much loved Halo 2)
Singleplayer mode won't be the greatest of all time, but the story itself will be better this time, and above all, tons of humour! In each level, there is for example a drunk guard hidden, who's full of crap and says the most funny things, but there are also hidden extra's for those willing to explore: hidden scenes, a piano you can use to play some songs on, that sort of stuff.

And those who love(d) Timesplitters 2 and its challenges and arcade league will be happy to see all that return, no drastic changes though, just more of the same, but that "same" was hilarious so I don't mind.

Especially the mapmaker is better than ever before, I just can't start to explain how detailed it is, just about everyting is customisable, even up to spawnpoinst, mission objectives (e.g. for an Assault map), timers for doors,... The mapmaker in TS2 was way too basic, but this one looks just great, and easy to use. No need to worry about tiles matching like in the previous one etc.

Should become yet another fun game in the series ... or to sum things up with one of Karl Hilton's quotes: “There are far too many games that take themselves too seriously nowadays.”
