Sons of Anarchy - The 7th and Final Season - Tuesdays on FX

garbage fucking episode, and it ends the same way as last week. Fucking nothing happened. They are dragging this shit out and stalling with 90 minute fucking episodes!

So does that classify as filler? How was this episode 90 minutes. I couldn't even tell you what happened in it other than the jury and jax confrontation. Funny stuff.

Can we just get 5 min recaps with the important stuff after the episode? Sometimes I want to read here before I watch to see if it's worth my time, but at the same time I don't want to be spoiled if something big happens:/

Just do like me and don't watch live. At least that way if nothing is happening you can forward to something happening. If that ever happens. If I had to sit through commercials to watch this I'd quit.

I never watch commercials. The episodes come in at about a hour without commercials. Still this shit gets frustrating watching it, because you can tell nothing is happening and they are just spinning their wheels. Having this episode end exactly like the end of the last episode is a fucking master stroke in laziness. Now all of a sudden we are supposed to care about John Teller again?

This is what Sutter had in mind when he revealed his seven-year plan ages back? Bookending montages and a minute-long stretch where two main characters do nothing but sit on a roof smoking and staring into the distance? This is fucking terrible television.

I just want everyone on this show to die. I feel absolutely nothing for any of them besides the poor fucked up kids that Jax barely acknowledge exist anymore.

I don't even care about Abel anymore. Horrible actor and he just assaulted another kid with a lunch box unprovoked. How is Sutter going to drag this out 5 more episodes before the reveal of Gemma being the one to end Tara?

That AV Club review gets it right on the mark. At the very least this episode contained the ONE worthwhile development in this entire season, which was Jury calling Jax out on his garbage. At least that signals to me that Sutter still understands these people are now irreddeemable even if he has no idea how to make this final season interesting narratively. Now all I'm hoping for is a few more scenes like that where the characters really confront the worthlessness of their lives before getting killed, cause they are all hateable.

In other SoA news, while this week's episode is weighing in at a meager 90 minutes, the November 4th episode will be a full two hours.

EDIT: Apparently this includes the after show, so the episode is probably only 90 minutes.

In what possible world is an episode of SoA worth two hours?

So I revised my earlier half-joking prediction because you just don't know with this show.

So Jax finds out about Gemma, loses most of his club due to his recklessness so he uses his dad's book to change the club our destroy it and goes out like his father while Nero and Wendy take the kids and try to correct Abel's serial-killer attitude while teaching him how to act. Gemma is then left to live alone ridden with guilt over Jax's suicide and the loss of everyone she's loved. All while Katey Sagal sings Mad World...

All joking aside, I think Sutter hinted a lot at Jax going out like his dad in that scene with Jury but we'll see. It's hard to really discuss the plot at this point besides saying, "Hey! That was Carmelo Anthony!"

Haven't watched it yet, but by the sound of it, my prediction that this season is going to end up worse than the final Dexter season is looking more likely.

Anyone agree?

I said this before, but I find that REALLY hard to reach. This season has been a total letdown, but Dexter's finale was on a whole other level that it's near impossible to reach. As long as the ending makes sense with a FRACTION of good in it, it will be better than Dexter.

Just really disappointing...

Jax just straight up shoots Jury in the face and then lies to everyone by saying he confessed to being the rat. He's Gemma's son all right...

To nobody's surprise there was a lot of dumb dialogue this episode ("It's not your fault Jackie") but the one that got me was this laughable line from Jax - "I underestimated Marks".

Err, what?

They're sabotaging Marks' biggest project and Jax thinks one kidnapping and a little bit of torture is 'underestimating' a gangster? When the Sons do it it's called a Tuesday. What was the response he 'estimated'? A strongly worded letter from Marks?

And for some reason West's death was lamented a couple times this episode. I actually had to look him up to figure out who they're talking about.
He's the red shirt cut from the gun warehouse.

Yep, Jax is a complete idiot and it's reached a tipping point for me. I just can't with this show anymore, it's so boring and nothing makes sense.

Marks specifically tells Jax: "Don't cross me, Jackson."
Jax crosses Marks, Marks has Bobby kidnapped and mutilated.
"oh man I totally didn't see that coming, he's so much smarter than me."

And when Chibb's asks Jax why they started the whole shitstorm with Marks, he says "Tara." Marks had nothing to do with Tara, he was just trying to stop the blowback from turning into all-out war in Charming. None of this shit with Marks makes any sense, for the narrative or for the club specifically. After all the bullshit Jax had to go through to convince the Irish to accept Marks, Jax turns on him. What does this do for their relationship with the Irish, what's to stop them from coming back now and cleaning house, killing off the Sons and all of Marks' crew?

I have a feeling that's not something that's even being considered by Sutter, he's setting up this major rivalry between Jax and Marks for no apparent reason, and it just feels so empty. Like I can't root for either side, there's really no one worth relating to on this show anymore aside from Nero, and he's obviously going to die or turn into an asshole. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he was the one who killed the birds and fucked with the kids' room in order to get Gemma to take the kids with him.

I thought I'd give it another shot to actually pick up the pace this season, for my own sanity I just need to wait and see what happens before I watch more. This show used to be an exciting guilty pleasure, now it's exhausting to get through each episode.

This season is a mess but it's still watchable. Dexter was... a chore.

Yeah...It's nowhere near as bad as Dexter. Dexter was actively terrible, Sons is just sort of boring. Nothing is happening and the plot is moving at a snails pace - I feel like it will be much better to just stop watching week to week and burn through the remaining episodes back to back just so that you get the sense that something is actually happening.

I think one of the biggest sins of this season is the demotion of two of the show's most pragmatic, rational, likable characters - Bobby and Chibs - and turning them into blind cheerleaders for Jax's moronic ambitions. When Chibs said "It's not your fault, Jackie" I totally checked out of him as a relatable character. These guys were the voice of reason, once upon a time. They both occupied the VP seat because they were the voice of reason and presented a compelling foil to the club's foolhardy misadventures. But now they're basically just two more bodies to hold guns. That's really all they are.

I really hope the previous poster's theory about Tig being the rat is true because he's the last character in the club with any soul and I'd like to see that cemented by him turning on them. Tig and Nero are basically all I care about now.

Another US show which doesn't know when to leave on a high instead it slowly gets worse and worse. Damm shame as the first few seasons of Sons were awesome.

But watching it now its a pale shadow of its former glory days. It was always a silly unbelievable show but it had heart. Now? I'm just watching to see how much more Sutter can fuck his characters up.

dave is ok

aztek is ok
I don't get why Sutter insisted this show needed 7 seasons.

There is so much filler that the whole story could have been told in 4

a lot of the basis of this theory is hoping that the bad writing isn't in fact bad writing but all a plan for this twist. It would be cool but I'm skeptical. Someone is the rat though!

To make this interesting, we the audience, should've been in on it. We still had to suffer through these pointless episodes.
