It will never happen, but I'd like for one of these interviews to start of with, " so...why has your show got so bad lately?"

Instead we get bullshit pandering to the Sutter ego.

I think he go about it a little more subtly by asking Sutter if he was a fan of the last season of Dexter. :D

Going to see the latest episode tonight. Will be interesting to see how many times I'll start browsing Gaf on my cellphone instead. It has been way more entertaining reading this thread than it has been watching the last episodes.
Agreed, I watch just so I can participate.

I need Gemma to face how everything this season is her fault. I really wish the show would at least show her thinking about all the death and current problems are because of her. A room full of girls died because of her. Yet, she doesn't seem to care.

I really just need Jax to confront her about all this "All these people are dead because of you!"

Everything in the entire history of the show is Gemma's fault. In fact, I hate her so much that I blame her for this season being so shitty... it doesn't help that Jax has been a complete idiot.

I just hope they kill off both Gemma and Jax in the end, I'm sick of them both. That's the only reason I'm watching now because this has turned into a total shit show with ass pulls coming from every god damn direction.

I used to like Jax quite a bit, then that waned and became tolerance, and now I just don't care whether he's successful or not. I dislike or hate him, it's just indifference.

Anything but that...can you imagine actually going back and rewatching that crap?

Saved you the trouble

My wife watched the entire show after I finished it.
Around Season 4, she was like "Babe, this show is great, why did you not like it in the end?"

xJ3sq.png
"Let me know when you're at Season 8, I'll watch every episode with you."

At the end of the series: "Woo! That was dumb! I totally get it now...why was a lumberjack? How did he survive the storm...?"
RGt54.png

SoA is nowhere close to that.
Now, I will say that its about time for Gemma to be out.

The worst is the ending of season 7 had season 8 set up to be the fucking perfect ending to the show and go out on a high note. They totally fucked it up in every way possible.

Ok, so what are the odds that Gemma dies at the end of the show?

I think she will be the last one standing with everyone around her dead and her having to live with knowing she caused it. I still don't get the point why Sutter is trying to humanize her at this point in the show.

Interesting theory. A few things though...

He was passed over for promotion when Jax was meant to go to jail, and he didn’t say anything.

When did any talk of Chibs being president ever occur?

He also kept his mouth mostly shut when his fellow countrymen were picked off (Chibs is Scottish, but of Irish descent).

Could it be cause maybe the IRA tried to blow up the entire club?

Remember how angry Chibs was last season when Jax handed over the gun pipeline?

He was angry cause he thought the IRA would be angry.

But yeah, if Chibs was the rat, that really would help salvage this season. Though as someone said, Tig being the rat makes much more sense after how many times Jax betrayed him.

God damn, the show just keeps getting worse. Abel's "do you?" in reply to Gemma's "do you know what an accident is?" was a legit LOL moment.

There's no protagonist left in the show. There's no one worth rooting for except maybe Chibs and Bobby. They've spent so much energy dragging out Jax finding out about Gemma but the funny thing is, it won't matter. I don't care if they both die because they're both shirty people. Jax isn't even complex, he's just a bad person.

That's the problem with the show. Jax has turned to shit without Opie. He wasn't the best person with him alive, but he still was somewhat good under it all. He has just turned to shit in the last couple of seasons though. Killing Navarros wife, drugging his ex, killing a bunch of innocents. The main protagonist should always retain some likeable characteristics even if they are a "bad" character, but Jax has none.

Chibbs and Bobby aren't even worth rooting for anymore either, they're a couple of Jax fanboys now. Seriously when Chibbs told Jax, "this isn't on you." it's like, wait... WHAT!? All of this is on Jax, all of it. Some people can try to say it's all on Gemma since she lied about the Chinese killing Tara (and she definitely deserves a lot of blame) and I wouldn't be surprised if the show tries to say, "Well yeah what Jax did was wrong, but it wasn't his fault his mom lied to him."

At this point though there is no coming back for Jax, I mean yeah his mom lied to him, but he's the one who made the choice to try and destroy Lin in such an brutal and disturbing way, without verifying any of Gemma's information, he tortured and murdered a man in the first episode, granted it was based on misinformation, but it doesn't change the fact he asked the guy he killed absolutely nothing which really blows my mind.

He killed Jury in the latest episode for no good reason and then lied about it afterwards. If Clay were alive still he'd be proud of Jax at this point.

So yeah most of this is on Jax, Gemma may have lied, but the things he's done have been so bad there's no way he can simply say, that his mom lied to him and that excuses everything.

Jax is actually worse than Clay, there was some peace and partying under Clay as president. Now Samcro is just a death squad.

I'm on episode seven of season six and I'm actually enjoying it so far. I feel like it picked up while still being kinda dumb. The show isn't where it was in the first of seasons. Reading this thread makes me sad though :(.

Clay had a plan. Jax is just murdering everyone with no rhyme or reason.

He was the antihero, now he's just a dude killing people. There's no way this show can end with any sense of satisfaction now.

My favorite part of this season was the scene where Bobby tells Wendy that Jax is a "special little boy that just feels emotions stronger than the rest of us". I'm obviously paraphrasing but Jesus Christ... what a shit show this season has been. I don't know what I expected, seeing that it had two seasons and the rest have been passable at best (until now).

The worst part is that the whole MC concept could have made for an amazing series under the right creative team, but it'll be a long time before anyone tries to use it again.

Killing Tara was such a mistake. She was the last sympathetic character in the show and Sutter got rid of her for the shock value.

Also, given that Juice is unlikely to rat out Gemma no matter what happens, we're all basically waiting for Uncer to put it together right? Does anyone see any other way the truth comes out?

All of this.

Once Tara died, I just couldn't anymore. I didn't even want to keep watching when Opie died, as he was the only character that seemed to have any proper development and purpose. but I liked Tara and figured I'd stay til the end. nope

I would like to thank all you courageous people for toughing it out for the final season so that I don't have to.

Unser is the only logical choice now to work out Gemma is a murderous bitch.

That means the writers will ignore that choice. Who needs logic, right?

Hey they've already got Marilyn Manson in the cast, so they could have it happen during a montage and use "Lunchbox".

This needs to happen, but I don't believe Sutter even cares any more at this point.

Yeah, Clay was a leader. Jax clearly isn't. He was never meant to be president, at least not without someone like Opie helping to rein him in and forcing him to think more long term and what's in the best interest of the club.

I hate this show because every development has no pay off. This show has too many big moments, to the point that nothing matters and they are all forgettable. With exception of this season, every scene was two people having a conversation about something bad that happened, then someone interrupts the scene with worse news.

Going back to my complaint about there never being a pay off, I'm going to recap each season.

Season 1: Opie's wife is wrongfully killed. Opie finds out the club did it. Opie becomes the living "okay" meme.

Season 2: Jax is going to turn on the club. With Zero foreshadowing, it turns out to be a trick to get the ATF agent.

Season 3: Jax loves his son and wants a better life for him. After finally finding his son, we see an incredibly emotional decision to let his son stay with his new family, because he knows hos life will be better. "We're not taking Able back with us." Literally two minutes later the family is killed. "Never mind, we're taking Able back."

Season 4: finally, after a season of investigating, the ATF agents are gearing up to bust the Sons. But wait, the bad guy is really a double agent and he said to not arrest anyone. Poof. The investigation and all the ATF guys are done and gone.

Season 5: Will Jax kill clay? Will it finally happen? Will Tara FINALLY leave the club after getting her life destroyed? Will she finally leave after all her scheming? Nope. As usual, just the opposite will happen. Tara is now deeper in the club.

Season 6: Tara's hand miraculously recovers giving me less reason to care about season 5. And then when she randomly dies. I still don't know if there was any good reason to kill her other than for a twist or a gotcha moment without foreshadowing.

Again my biggest complaint is that nothing matters in this show. For those who watched the Shield, I'm sure you will agree that everything mattered in that show. It was so well written, that even the final scene of episode 1 had an impact on the entire series, right up to the series finale. It's obvious that Sean Ryan was the genius behind the show, even if Sutter was a main writer. O

Well done for bothering to remember all of those details. At this point i can't even care enough to go back and think about all the missed opportunities this show has had.

On top of all of that, why the hell did Jax go to war with August Marks? It wasn't even just about revenge. Or somehow reconciling revenge with the desire to keep moving the club into legitimate business. Jax just flipped and said "kill em all" and everyone was immediately onboard, despite Jax spending the last year or two trying to convince them of the exact opposite. Fingers crossed all of that somehow works out in the end!

It's the same question I ask about Homeland nowadays. What do these characters stand for? What are they trying to accomplish? Do they, or the writers, even know or at least ponder the question? I think there's a vast emptiness at the end of those questions. There are only contrivances and plot momentum remaining.

It's obvious that Ryan was the one to reign everyone in and keep it relatable. Without that, we get Sutter making a 7 season Katie Segal audition reel.

Sutter is a hack. I got into The Shield not too long ago and I could just TELL by the content which episodes were written by him and I wasn't wrong once. It was especially obvious in the episode where
Aceveda gets sexually assaulted.

I had to stop watching Homeland a few episodes into the current season. I just gave up on the show. I'll stick this out until the end though. Stuff has to start picking up soon I hope with only 5 episodes left.

This is basically how I feel about Kurt Sutter as a show runner. It's obvious now that the Shield's success during his run was thanks to the other people around him who were able to rein him in.

But that was good. He has good ideas, but he ultimately has no one on SoA to tell him when to chill the fuck out and when an idea is stupid. I remember that huge The Shield article where Ryan basically confirms that Sutter needs to be reigned in and now we all see what he means.
