50/50 is pretty fair. I don't think any game needs to be attached to announce the partnership honestly. If I had to pick one though, it would be DOTA 2 to combat that League of Legends stuff for the Xbox One along with fresh ports of source engine stuff to get the ball rolling. I would be happy with Left 4 Dead 3 though.

Neither DOTA2 nor League of Legends would be viable with a controller.

In fact I have no idea where this LoL Xbone rumour comes from.

Yeah this is exactly opposite of what MS is doing with the Xbone. Its more likely they dropped development for it entirely then them showing up on Microsofts stage.

Also makes me wonder if they know what Sonys DRM plans are since they have not been shy about that version.

Yeah, they were relentless in the PSone days. They followed that E3 up by having MGS and FF7 playable at E3 97, and also showed of Crash 2, Tomb Raider 2, Resident Evil 2 and Parappa.

It's interesting reading old E3 reports as they don't list certain games because they just weren't really known to be that big of a deal at the time.

I hope that online play is not only free, but also cross game chat.

It would really suck having that userbase split...say a friend of yours doesn't pay for online, but you want to chat with him in another game...

would be a bummer if that's behind a paywall

Cross game chat is free on Vita. You have nothing to worry about.

Exactly. Cross game chat has to be free. It works with Vita though right?

Understandable. I only want it because I never really had a chance to play the other two (other than my friends' places), as I don't have a PS3.

Perhaps we could get a port of LBP2 or something, I'd be cool with that.

To my knowledge the first real gameplay hands-on the media got from FFVII came in Aug 96 ahead of the playable demo. Everything else came through controlled leaks (like to GameFan, Famitsu, etc).

If KLee from GameFan is around he could verify.

Both you and I, along with many here are aware of their publicly shown disdain for DRM. As such I'd have thought Sony may have made a better partner (but given the lack of clarity pertaining Sony's stance on drm/used game policies, may be not).

However, their title will be multiplatform regardless of the policies enforced by each platform holder and it does not affect them since they operate GOG.com and the PC version will be bereft of DRM. So, it simply a matter of showing their multiplat title off on Xbone first.

Anyway, when you download the booth before Monday, you 'pre-register' and you get the theme when the booth actually opens next Monday. :P

The screen said something like "You have gotten a preregistration token/badge! Come back on Monday to receive your theme!" I think.

The only thing I can think of is them saying they haven't confirmed Witcher 3 for Xbox One.

Can't wait to see Santa Monica's game. They're consistenty great IMO. I'm not too hopeful about Sony's Japanese studios flexing their muscles at the show, but a boy can dream right? They need to recover from a subpar generation...

It's already been announced for the PS4. Did you get that it's going to show up at the MS E3 conference from someone that had a source or was it a guess? Because when CDP refused to confirm TW3 for the Xbox One it led many people to speculate that it was going to be at the MS conference or it was going to be timed exclusive, but it was pure speculation on their part.

F MS and their pretentious back and forth verbal game playing regarding Xbox One features/lack of.

Sony-, I expect greatness. When is the sequel to Last of Us?

That's what I been saying. I'm not worried about any other developer, they'll all deliver great games whether it's SSM or anyone, but I want damn SCEJ to make a big console game.

interesting. I mean when it comes down to the almighty dollar I'm sure principles will fly out the window, but to show up at their conference would be just weird after making statements like that.

Thanks for the reply! I do remember a screen coming up and the B2S screen, but it was pretty quick or I must have hit X or something. Thanks again!

I really like that they're doing all of this for E3. Not huge stuff, but very cool nonetheless. Free PS+ is always welcome!

Notably absent from the list was CD Projekt Red's 2014 role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Asked about this absence, the Polish studio declined to confirm the game for Xbox One, but said more information about the title will be shared next month at the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo.

If the PS4 is basically just a PC... I really hope The Witcher is released as a trilogy. I never played those games, and I generally won't start a new thing in the middle. I have to start at the beginning.

I can't really see why it'd be hard to get them all up and running if the platform is as close to a PC dev environment as they say. Seems like they'd be leaving money on the table.

I know man! It's pretty infuriating considering their stature on the Playstation 2. They were world class at one time, and for whatever reason, the HD generation kicked them down a few notches. I want to experience their games with today's technology sooooooooooo badly :(
 
I wonder if they didn't comment on a XbOne version before E3 because they knew what was coming and might have a scathing reason why it won't appear on it now they clarified their position.

the worst part is they still got the skills. I loved gravity rush on Vita, mad feels playing that. So much charm. Same for Puppeteer just looking at that. That other game Rain looks awesome.

They still have that unique look and feel to their games. They need to do a big console title again. Underrated talent.

They get their dollars from GOG, they dont need the consoles at all to be honest. It would be interesting to hear them even announce an Xbone version given what we know of the system now.

Could be. What they said didn't really make much sense, considering they announced the PS4 version immediately after Sony revealed the system.

If gabe can walk on stage and show portal 2, why can't I dream of TW3. BTW valve also had behind closed door for portal2 that year also as I know because I was at e3 and had that closed door portal 2 demo scheduled and was one of the first to put the behinds the door video of portal 2 on GAF.

I dont know. That quote only means that Umbra 3 is coming to XBO. Just because Umbra 3 is used in TW3 doesnt necessarily mean TW3 is an XBO game, though.

I fullly expect an XBO version though. I think theyre holding back on talking about it because itll be briefly mentioned during the conference.

Well Sony already commented on no online requirements, which is one of the main things he talks about in that interview. Its also possible Sony shared any of those plans they might have concerning DRM with devs already, or we could see them drop both versions if Sony pulls some bullshit out of their hat.

CDPR is one of the few who have the resources to drop versions on principle.
