I hope its C i mean Killzone is sonys FPS right anymore and it will just divide the sales poor resistance 3. As far as RPG's go sony has none in house and there was a poll a while back on what PS+ members wanted the most and RPG's was the winner. Hoping for the best.

Exactly. Sony already has Killzone as an FPS, and Uncharted (and even technically inFamous) filling the TPS gap. They don't need any more shooter franchises.

An RPG with Santa Monica's chops behind it would be catastrophically huge.

Media Molecule tweet seems like they are not showing anything this E3. This time they are sitting back and are excited for another surprise from another internal dev. Santa Monica?

No, that tweet came directly after this one

Soooo. Who's excited for E3 next week? What are you most looking forward to about it?

and then shortly after they had

We've been super-ridiculous-hella-mega busy getting @tearawaygame in tip-top condish for E3, so look out for more Tearaway fun next week. :)

So they are definitely there with Tearaway, but who knows if they are on stage at all.

Reads to me sony was going to show something (hardware/software/ feature of hardware) , that they changed there might and not anymore. The way it's worded it looks not there but from Sony in general

just woke up.

Went to bed last night and Thuway had just mentioned that online gaming will require a paid subscription for the ps3.

Any more developments with this?

Also, anything interesting leak last night?

sounds like they are done preparing (they've been preparing until the lead up to E3) whatever they were doing and can now relax.

maybe a game. maybe the bootup intro for ps4.

Kagari said it's free.

And lo, we did rejoice.

to me it says that they have finished doing whatever it is was they had to get ready for E3 and now they can relax and wait for it to be revealed.

PS3/4/V believe

Adding to what I said in my earlier post, I think it would be great if they handled it like this:

Game itself is exclusive to PS4 and Vita, while some sort of "LPB Studio" is available for PS3, PC, as well as tablets and smartphones. All of it is bound together by a social networking aspect where you can rate and share videos of your levels and whatnot online, follow designers/other players, and trade elements that can be used in levels. So theoretically someone on their iPhone could make a cool robot thing and put it up to share, then someone making a level on their Vita could bring that object into their game, and the original creator could get a notification that someone has used their creation.

I just think bringing in a more open social element with a bit of a Minecraft/Spore Creature Creator bent could really help the game become kind of a phenomenon. Then again, it could just produce a lot of penises.

MM doing LPB3 does not seem plausible. I remember them saying that they really weren't even interested in doing a LPB2.

So yeah, a part 3 seems highly unlikely.

Plus, I personally don't want to see a LPB3. I appreciate those games, but I want to see a new IP from them on the PS4, like Teraway with the Vita.

yep, I agree. A new generation is perfect time to launch a new IP

Playstation Plus is enormously popular. Roughly half the people on my friends list have it. So PS4 online will likely be free because they'll be able to push Playstation Plus as they have with the PS3.

What I want from MM is basically the LBP creation model slapped onto a 3D Zelda-type game. So you have a character who can swing his sword and block with his shield, jump, roll, etc... really well animated... and then they just let you loose in an overworld with dungeons, but people can edit, create, share whatever they want, just like in LBP.

And like zelda you have dungeons being created around specific weapons/items/gadgets/gear.

They could do this, I know they could. And I would be in fucking heaven for years... never-ending Zelda.

*sigh*

to me, it sounds like they've been very busy preparing and are relieved to be done with it now that E3 is finally upon us.

I still believe there will be a partnership with valve and the PS4 will essentially be a steam box. With valve dumping a lot of their hardware developers and with the release of big picture mode and Sony seemingly turning the drm over to whatever the developers wish, steamworks working with the PS4 makes total sense. Additionally, the PS4 is more like a PC than ever before and you can already sync up accounts with Steam on the PC/PS3 so it's just an extension and a deepening of the relationship.

Plus, Sony has been gunning to make sure a lot of the indie development engines are available and working for easy ports from PC to the PS4. I think a partnership with Valve and the self publishing options for developers go hand in hand with all of that. On top of this, we are seeing a much bigger resurgence of developers pushing for PC ports, especially Japanese developers and, although this is pie in the sky, steamworks versions unlocking the PC, PS4,and possibly Mac version if available, would be a big deal.

For Vita, I think the big definitive handheld get which would provide the best control by far, and way better than on a touch screen, would be Minecraft on the vita. That game is still huge and I think putting it on vita makes perfect sense.

Probably all wrong, but just makes sense.

I'd put that at about 50/50. I'm sure they are probably considering such a partnership, but I'm not sure if Valve is convinced that they should do that yet. If they could announce such a partnership and announce maybe a new Left 4 Dead exclusive then it would go over quite well.

This has been incredible. When E3 2005 rolled around (when current-gen consoles were shown), I was at the beach and could not stop thinking about all that I was missing! This time, I'm ready to soak it all in. I have never seen such a rollercoaster of ideas/emotions/etc., etc. Totally glad to be here.

Also, very awesome of the people that can share information, to do so. You all rock!

I couldn't take the hype anymore without posting in this thread again! Now, I just have to see what my E3 snacks will be..........

I'm fine with another LBP coming out, but I want it to be the final one. I feel like that's a series where there should be one definitive version per generation.

Also SSM doing an RPG would be amazing. I feel like there's better chance of achieving success with an RPG than an FPS anyways.

what i want is a tool that involves the ps4 eye to allow me for 3D sculpting to be used for their next open world creation tool that doesn't use p2p connection.

C for SSM. Sony having an original RPG would be a great think. Probably D through despite already having killzone.

Maybe even Legend of Dragoon? Never played it myself but it was an effort by them.

GG is supposed to be working on a new RPG right?

I sincerely hope SSM aren't adding yet another shooter to the Playstation library. Sony could really use a fantastic exclusive western RPG.

Would love to see witcher 3 on stage. those guys are very anti DRM. Also have announced it for ps4 but not xb1.

Witcher 2 was my favorite WRPG . absolutely gorgeous game

Omg I was reading this and imagining how amazing this could be given how exhaustive their tool set could be. Imagine people being able to create puzzles as simple and complex as they wanted. Making worlds from a gamer's own vision. Having the voice recording tools and everything. And with the PS4's big increase in RAM and other specs how much more they'd allow you to create instead of worrying so much about that thermometer limit thing they had.

Little Big Adventure =o

You can't just pick any team to conjure up a good RPG though. The team has to want to it do it to do it well. Whatever Santa Monica is making, it's something they want to make I'm sure. That's what's most important to me. I mean I'd love an RPG or an adventure game, but that's easier to hope for then make reality.

Except that's not going to happen. I read (here) that they'll be unveiling at the xbone event.

Yay, I made it to LA. 2 more days!

Sorry to ask again if already answered but did you get the pass for sony event?

You could literally create an overworld. When I saw what some people did with LBPK, I almost fell off my chair. And then I thought of what they could do if they actually let people design a 3D platformer. And then I realized I'd much rather play never-ending Zelda than never-ending Mario or whatever.

I think, ultimately, whatever they eventually do will be great. But yeah I would probably kill someone for the LBP Adventure.

It would be interesting to know how much creative freedom they've been given. We know that with TLOU Sony allowed Naughty Dog to have total control.

With XB DRM , that would be totally what they don't stand for

"One thing that’s not changing about the next Witcher is CD Projekt RED’s policy on DRM (digital rights management.) While many video game developers and publishers have responded to piracy by ever more annoying means of DRM, Tomaszkiewicz says that CDP is committed to a DRM free policy. Nor will they implement any kind of “always-online” system.

“In my opinion,” Tomaszkiewicz tells me, “DRM is the worst thing in the gaming industry. It’s limiting our rights to play games owned by us. Let’s imagine that you have a game that requires internet connection to prove that you actually bought it. What if you lose your connection because of your internet provider? You can’t play anymore. It is worth mentioning that many people in Poland or even in the US and other countries still don’t have an internet connection or have a very slow one. I was in such a situation once and I really didn’t understand why I couldn’t play games that I had bought. I believe that as long as people feel that companies are cheating them by selling games they cannot play freely, limiting their rights, and making unfair DRM, then they will fight against that.”

Sorry to ask again, but I didn't get an answer last time:

For the Beyone2Souls theme, can you obtain it today, or do you just get it at a later date by pre-registering at the virtual HOME E3 Booth?

Sony's MO seems to be to let people do whatever they want creatively for the most part. I wouldn't be surprised if SSM is doing whatever they want considering how good they are, like naughty dog. It's easy to forget because they've been doing God of War for so long but damn that team is mothereffing talented.

Gonna be weird to see something else. But potentially awesome.

Yeah definitely never ending Zelda. And I've never gotten to play LBPK beyond the beta/demo so it's pretty awesome it's being added to the instant game collection for PS+.

As much as I enjoyed GoW3, I have no intention of playing another GoW game for several years (I've skipped on Ascension); it just feels too over-done for me now. It would be great to see them come out with something really out of left-field.

I feel the same about Uncharted. I love the Uncharted series, but I wouldn't be disappointed if we don't see an Uncharted 4 for another two years. I want to see Sony's big-gun studios come out with crazy new ideas; especially now that they all have two teams.

Probably Tarsier is doing it. I bet new IP from MM, would be great seeing how good Tearaway is shaping up to be.

I seriously think LBP has HUGE potential. It can incorporate all those 'make your own game' games like RPG maker and others. It can have all viewying angles; 3D/2D/2.5D. An upload could be anything from a SHMUP to an RPG or RTS. Just give more options, more 'open ended' options (like record/upload/import your own creations [pics, videos, sound recordings, etc.). Heck, the games could look completely different. Why not add flash support for 2D creation? Simply add as much open ended options in every aspect of the user options and, creatively, you are only bound by the tools your gamers are using.

Basically, there is potential to create a user-friendly game creation kit for the average joe. Win-win situation for everybody in my book.

Did Sony show FF7 at E3 1996? I keep looking around and some say it was there and others don't list it at all. Either way it seems like Sony wasn't playing around that year. They dropped the PSone's price by $100, and then showed off Tekken 2, Soul Blade, Ridge Racer Revolution, Tobal, Twisted Metal 2, WOXL etc.

Instant win, right there.
