holding a 2:1 advantage after one year is doable. maybe even after 18 months. But to do so over the course of the entire generation when the other console is building the kind of momentum the XB1 has these past few months? It's not sustainable.

If these countries are "key markets" for MS, why wait so long to launch in them?Microsoft is launching the XB1 in China and over a dozen new key markets soon. The 2:1 ratio will vanish relatively quickly.
That means if XB1 gets to 40 million
Didn't the PS3 sell more units than the 360 in the end?
Congratulations to everyone at SCEI and SCE Worldwide Studios.

Pop Gaf would some something like
Square Enix u tried tho

Sony really let loose at gamescom, showing so many games! It is not the sheer volume, but how Sony snapped up all those developers. It only means they are still working hard to make PS4 the games console. And i thought they would turn a little complacent after PS4 successful launch.
haha
It's a pretty accurate statement.
Will it be as dead, or more dead than Titanfall?
The entire new Robin Thicke albumWhats on song is SquareEnix listening to right now?

10 million is very impressive for a console with no games worth playing yet IN MY OPINION. I'm still holding on to my PS3 as all the games I want will have a version for it. The only thing that intrigues me about PS4 at the moment is the Morpheus virtual reality device, which is far from release anyways... :-s
Congratulations to everyone at SCEI and SCE Worldwide Studios.
TF is hard to say. The sequel might have a shot but I don't see it ever being the "next COD" like Respawn wanted. Shackling it to X1 killed it's chances, and now Destiny will eat their lunch.
Worldwide, yes. But Microsoft easily won North America, and I think that early lead had a lot to do with it.
Unless I'm reading this wrong, PS4 is the fastest console to reach 10m, right?
Did we ever get "Sold to consumer" updates on Wii and PS2 console sales?
Otherwise I'm wondering the next time we'll be able to make a like for like comparison
PS4 don't need no Japan. WEST(ern) SIDEEEEEE
The western hemisphere is the dancinest hemisphere!

when did I say the was not insurmountable? I'm saying the 2:1 advantage isn't insurmountable.
That means if XB1 gets to 40 million, then Sony *has* to be at 80 million. It's far from crazy to think such a ratio won't hold. Maybe I will be wrong but don't act like it's ludicrous to say so.
And the Japanese devs STILL won't be able to cash in on that userbase because they're too busy catering to a Japanese audience that wants nothing but mobile crap.
History has shown us that the first company to reach 10 million in console sales wins the generation battle." - Don Mattrick
15m by year's end?
Wasn't the Wii basically sold out everywhere? I got mine over a year after launch and I believe they were still not abundant at that time.
Don't read into it
It was heavily sold out for like a year and a half I believe but as I don't know what the Wii would've sold if it wasn't I can't compare it to that point can I?
I certainly think PS4 will cross streams with Wii at some point in time just surprised that it hasn't seemed to happen yet
I feel kind of bad for Crystal Dynamics now. They've been sold up the river. I hope the series isn't killed by MS's desperation.
