Someone in the press threw a Spider-man question at Dylan the other day and got apparently got reamed by his manager/publicist.
Has there been any new news on the O'Brien front?
I thought that the chances it's him were as good as dead.

So is Drew Goddard an actual good pick?

Cabin in the Woods was mostly terrible though. And being a Whedon protégé is hardly a good thing.

Can you expand on that? Why do you think it was "mostly terrible"?Cabin in the Woods was mostly terrible though.

if this is from the Paley Fest video in the other thread, then that's not what happened at all. :lol
This is how bad rumors start, people!
But that's not the thing that have given some fans new hope. What about you try get into it, before stating how bad rumors start. The thing that has clinched unto people, is his Teen Wolf director teasing Dylan about Avengers, when one could imagine he don't wanna talk about it if his audition performance had been rejected. And Dylan himself also talked about hanging upside down - be it a joke, ironic or going along with the talk - Spidey were still discussed at the panel.
Remember, Chadwick, Rudd and Cumberbatch also denied having Marvel roles only for them to be announced as Black Panther, Ant-Man and Dr. Strange.
You don't have to kill the hope of some fans. It is what it is, nobody can make conclusions.
Or maybe he's just ribbing him over nothing?
After all, if Dylan is Spider-Man and is under such an intense NDA that Marvel reps are apparently waiting in the wings to pounce on any journalists who ask about it, why would his Teen Wolf director be privy to that news? Much less, talk about it on stage in front of said journalists?
I'm not trying to kill your hope or anything, just think it's worthwhile to keep expectations in check, especially when those expectations are kind of based on nothing in the first place. Remember, this whole thing started in earnest just because some anonymous guy on Reddit said so.
The trick to making any incarnation of Spider-Man great, whether comics, animation or film is Peter Parker. Get Peters character right and the rest falls into place.
It was pretty much expected, but at least it's official now.http://joequesada.tumblr.com/post/114234745898/have-you-seen-any-visual-concepts-early-designs

But it wont stop the Miles-begging.
We know that we will get a Peter Parker movie since the first day. Since then, we only discuss if we get Miles or Peter.which is crazy, cause it makes no sense

Are the Miles Morales comics good?
This is not a confirmation of anything.

There's an arc where Dr Octopus is Spider Man, right? So we need Alfred Molina back in this bitch.
You're not that familiar with that arc huh? Doc ock switches body with Peter Parker. It would still be the same actor except with Ocks personality. There's an arc where Dr Octopus is Spider Man, right? So we need Alfred Molina back in this bitch.
At least Marvel & Sony wouldn't have to worry about him aging out of the role anytime soon.http://badassdigest.com/2015/03/23/marvel-auditioned-16-year-old-mateus-ward-for-spider-man/
Supposedly, Mateus Ward is auditioning for Spider-Man.
He looks like 13 on this picture
He's wearing a Batman shirt. I hate him already.

While the likes of Dylan O'Brien & Logan Lerman would be awesome, they wouldn't be able to pull off the teenager look for long (maybe 1, 2 movies tops).Welp. I hope he will not be Spidey... :/ far to young looking IMO.
What Madridista says. I want to see Peter grow up.While the likes of Dylan O'Brien & Logan Lerman would be awesome, they wouldn't be able to pull off the teenager look for long (maybe 1, 2 movies tops).

Why couldn't they just have Peter Parker be a teenager in Civil War and Spectacular Spider-Man, and then go into adulthood by the next 2 movies or such.
Oh well, I'm fine with whatever, just announce your Parker soon.
I dont care how cartoons for children portray him. I just care about the comics and there he never looks like 13
... haha you probably knew Spidey's typically a teenager, just perfect excuse to use your avatar against you

j/k, dude looks alright. And he's only 16, so they can keep him on for a long time
