Splatoon 2 |OT| Fresh Squids 2 Go

Man I love teammates who spend the first minute on Starfish Mainstage painting their own base even though that's literally the worst conceivable strategy. It's just really great when I'm trying to hold the center by myself and as soon as I die the match is literally over.

I just ragequit then and there. Fuck this awful stage.

Interesting, looks like they wiped everyone's drawings when the Splatfest ended. The graffiti in my plaza is generic Splatoon stuff and nobody has a drawing speech bubble up.
After the Splatfest ended, I entered the lobby and exited to 'refresh' the plaza. The posts came back, although I don't recognize any that were during the Splatfest.

Ragequitting is far worse than using the "wrong" strategy could ever be.

Confession Time. I took way too many pictures of Marina. Which is really awkward cause I'm on Team Mayo haha.

EDIT: Ah freak this is the first post for the page?!

So after about 6 hours or so playing with them...

Muck Warfare>Acid Hues>Ebb and Flow

This is solely based on how they sound in game. Listened to them before the Splatfests and was surprised at how well Muck Warfare works in the 2 minute context. The ranking is different based on the songs alone (Ebb and Flow is amazing), but in game some work better than others.

I don't think any of them touch Ink Me Up from the first game, but that's more Nintendo absolutely nailing it in the first game than these songs being bad. They're all great, release the CD already Nintendo!

The secret best Splatfest song is
Calamari Inkantation (final boss song from 1) used during the last day of the Callie vs Marie Splatfest, but that's unfair
. Have high hopes for something similar when they do their major Splatfests in 2.

MUCH better tonight than last night playing. Won a lot and won almost all of the matches against Mayo. Got to Ketchup King as well.

Overall, I'm satisfied with my performance and I'm pretty sure this is the first time I ever got max rank in a Splatfest, don't think I ever did in the original game.

Ink me up will never be topped, one of the catchiest songs ever for a nintendo game.

Rage-quitting automatically makes you the worst type of player in the game by a huge margin.

You're acting like ragequitting on Starfish Mainstage makes any difference at all in the outcome. If they didn't want this to happen, they shouldn't have designed a stage which incentivizes ragequitting by making it virtually impossible to stage a comeback.

No gonna find many like-minded people here. Rage Quitting is the worst, my man, especially in this game.

My last round was literally a comeback in that stage. Yes during the round itself.

Branduil you need to take a good break from the game. It'll do wonders for you!

I've said this before, but after this splatfest I've more than doubled my time with the game and I'm more convinced than ever that the stages in the game so far are weaksauce. I think Moray Towers and Port Mackerel are BY FAR my favorites of the 8 stages and that's...uh....not a great thing when they're the two vet stages. For the most part the new stages are very verrrrrrrry same-y, giant squares, minimal verticality, etc.

I really hope they step it up, that ship stage that's been teased does look cool. And bring some of the game 1 stages back in updates too

Is this the community consensus?? I can't agree. I never have problems making comebacks on this stage.

The thing I really like about playing splatoon is that I don't get uoset with it. Win or lose I always have fun and really dont get bothered compared to when I lose at any sports game really.

Played some matches earlier and really enjoyed it. Never got a chance to play the test splats, so this was my first taste overall of #2

But I make comebacks there all the time?

Splatfest match wins: 3 out of 12 matches. Not sure how many were ketchup vs ketchup.
Non-splatfest wins (last 12): 8 out of 12.

Well at least I can go back to standing a chance.

What is the "dry" and "raw" stuff when it comes to your weapon? Just how much you use it?

Freshness bonus, you get a pretty good xp bonus when you rank up a weapon (like 4500 for Fresh I think?)

It goes from Dry (lose .5 points for a loss) to Raw (5 points needed, lose 1 point per loss) to Fresh (10 points needed, lose 1.5 per loss) to Super Fresh at 15 points.

I played terribly for most of the splatfest. Something about both condiments was enraging, compounded with ketchup on ketchup massacres. I am a ketchup king, yet sit on an empty throne of shame and bad teamplay (from myself and others).

It's funny how the Inkling Girls in the game have big sway in their figure when I click on them to "Fresh" their posts.

I feel like they're gonna fall!

I had a surprisingly bad time during the splatfest when it came to actually winning matches. I manged a net positive in wins by the end, but man, I went on some downright absurd losing streaks. Hopefully next time goes better.

At least 90% of the time the team that wins the center in the first minute wins the stage. And I can tell you right now we were not going to be the 10%.
But the matches are only 3 minutes...why would you quit, when it would take just as long to finish out the match.

So now that Splatfest is over I decided to Recap my experience.
First the Matchups:
Though I probably fought more Ketchup than Mayo, I took a screenshot of every match I had with them with the results:

This is where I disliked the App a bit, as no matter who I fought, it would always say it was Mayo:

I do really like the Color though, wish Red was part of the regular rotation

Now for Random Pics
Post your screenshots in the official screenshots thread: http://neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1411335&page=1

I wonder if it's possible that your strategy isn't the one and only strategy that works?

I often find in playing with randoms that if I don't paint the spawn and our side at some point early on, nobody ends up doing it and we just have unpainted spots at the end.

Also, seeing as how this is a game I play for fun, and it's unranked turf wars...it's just not worth getting upset about losing. You may want to re-evaluate why you are still playing this game if it makes you so angry that you need to rage quit.
