I never played the first game, but I played and liked the testfires well enough. Is the single player long enough to be worth getting? Someone I know is selling a digital code for 5000 yen

Absolutely. Plenty of interesting levels and then you can go through them with each weapon for a different way of thinking and playing. (Taking a short range weapon into one designed for a sniper rifle and the level changes to accommodate)

So at wich times is the salmon run usually on?

Need to know this too. Hopefully I can play this on my lunchbreak.

Do abilities stack or nah? Like if I have two quick respawns will that make my respawn 2x fast?

Yes! They have diminishing returns though, and different values depending on if they are main or subs.

Splatoon 1 has certain abilities like Ink Resistance locked to, for example, shoes, so I'm not sure if they stack in this but I imagine they do.

I'm sure all the numbers will be up on that soon. SplatGAF is all about science.

Also, the grimy feel of Salmon Run in comparison to the upbeat pop of the rest of the game really lends a nice texture to the setting, it's just that bit of edge that I missed from Animal Crossing for quite some time.

Inkling has reached peak.

Is Salmon Run where you get those ability chunks for the Urchin guy? I was wondering where you got those from since all you get from Turf War is coins for gear.

Played a bit. Motion controls are going to take some getting used to. I find myself trying to turn left and right literally instead of using the stick.

So, can I play Salmon Run in local multiplayer with only 2 people? Does the mode scale appropriately? Or is it only possible to play through with 4 people?

So is there no way to play in English if you have a Japanese copy?

Did you bu digital or retail?

Because when I bought my copy ( English ver) off the store, it shows what languages are supported. I might be the same on the Japanese store.

Have you tried looking here.

https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSw...is_how_you_check_whether_jp_eshop_games_have/

Head to https://www.nintendo.co.jp/software/switch/index.html, it consists of all the games that are released on jp eshop.

Click on any game that fancy you, and within its page look for 対応言語. There you will see which language the game supports. 日本語 = Japanese, 英語 = English.

Enjoy!

I assume this is not the kind of game where I need to have played the first ?
I don't know - I always was a bit skeptical of splatoon for some reason, but all the good feedback..

I think it does lower quotas so that they're reasonable to take on by smaller groups who can't be everywhere. So it's doable if you're good enough. Salmon Run, in general, is pretty difficult though so it's hard to tell if spawns and enemy density get changed.

Nah. No need to have played the first game. There's some references here and there, but it's good enough to catch you up to speed.

The single player is surprisingly decent, beat the first boss and it was enjoyable. After that did some online until I got to level four. I’m not a fan of the gyro though, so I’m just using the traditional set up with my pro controller. Good game though.

The game waited for me in the mail when I came home this morning and is already in my switch. Just have to wait for one phone call then it's Splatoon all day! :)

That would be perfect! I don't mind hard, I like the challenge, but it should be doable at least.

I'll buy it during a sale most likely. Dont know anyone with a switch at hand right now and I'm not really interested in online.

Soo I started story mode and I am confused what to do? I spaltted like the whole area but nothing happened. The challenges are fun tho!

In single player it's not important to color in everything. Just to get to the end of the stage and collect as much goodies as you can along the way.

But, there is no end of the stage? I am really confused what's going on...
Are you still in the first area where you met Marie? There you have to find the invisible level entrances, color them in and enter the stages. The stages themselves are fairly linear. At the end is always a lightbulb with an electric eel that you have to rescue by blowing up the bulb with ink.
