Splatoon 2 |OT| Fresh Squids 2 Go

Apart from the obvious poor implementation of voice chat, the Nintendo online ap is pretty neat. Splatnet 2 has a lot of cool details. I still have to look into it some more, but stats for my last 50 truf war matches currently sit at:

22 Victories, 13 defeats. Not too bad, it felt like I was doing way worse.
(Newcomers, don't feel discouraged, or focus too much on stats. I'm not new to Splatoon, my first time experience would have been a reversed score, and any wins would have been because I was carried, lol)

Sucks when you put a ton of work in and still lose, lol. Several of those losses were with 900p+ :o

This ap will be great for sharing stats. All I ask(since a native solution aint in the cards dight now) is that they patch those silly shortcomings with voive chat.

How do I get to splatnet stuff on the switch app? When I click the splatoon 2 icon in the app it just pulls up like an info page.

Do I need to play an online match first or something?

Sorry for silly question, I have not been paying attention...Salmon Run requires two player at least right? Or is is single player also?

Played a bit this morning. Man, I was rusty. Lost 5 out of 6 games. Once I got rid of the Jr. though, I won 7 in a row. I'm excited to get back into the series. Salmon Run is a nice addition. I do miss playing with the Japanese though.

Voice chat debacle aside, Splatnet 2 is pretty sweet in the Nintendo app. Works well, and snagged myself a cool top while I was on the loo. Perfect.

Won 5 games with the Jr., lost 7 with the Dualies, currently on a +6 streak with the Splattershot. Need to use the Dualies movement to get the value out of them, and I haven't cracked it yet.

Do weapons have levels in this? Can you get alternate looking versions of weapons? Like the starter one I've got, what if I want one with a different set of abilities?

Don't own Switch and God I'm so jealous right now, loved watching first Splatoon back then. Did I get that right there's now horde mode, single-player mode and new multiplayer mode? Any changes to the progression system? Can't watch gameplays at the moment.

i played 7 or 8 games of Salmon Run last night but I think I only ever played the same map. Does anyone have a link showing both of the Salmon Run maps?

Wait, there's forced region-locked match making?

don't have the game yet, but some friend told me that you still can't create games... you can only join your friends, and you don't necessarly team up with them... what's up with that?

Is it only on ranked?

Uhhh I see no way to get my third zapfish. I did the two levels. All that's left is a barricaded spot and the the thing that says I need more zapfish. Where is the third level? I completed 2 and 3

Edit: I'm dumb. Nevermind.

The new horde mode is the new multiplayer mode and the single player is more of the same from the first (not that that's a problem). Progression is similar, but there's separate ranks for each ranked mode.

Should this be my pallet cleansing game I own digitally on the Switch?

I have Zelda / MK8 / Disgaea via cart, have a copy on hold at GameStop and am trying to decide...

Whew, I don't know if it's all the new players or what, but I've been able to dominate so far. Got 12 splats in the last round and the team won 73% to 20%.

In the matchmaking screen what is the arrow that says "Raw" with my weapon?

It's your freshness, as you win more matches it will go up. You can talk to Judd outside the lobby to get rewards depending on how high it is.

Whoa you can mess with the music on the lobby matchmaking screen with the left analog stick I think.

yeah there are a lot of inputs. the face buttons and dpad are vocal things, the right stick seems like an envelope filter, the left stick speeds up and slows down, and the triggers are echo

it's fun as fuck especially for someone like me who always fiddles with the sticks when idle

Just opened the game and hopped online into Turf Wars. First matchup, all 3 of my team members dropped before the match started. 1 vs 4. I lost.

I never had that happen to me in Splatoon 1. Sometimes one person might drop, but not all 3 team members...

I have had similar problems with MK8D. Does the Switch have bad netcode or something?

Anybody experiencing a bit of drifting with the motion controls? So far the best way I've found to avoid it is playing with the joy cons as wii motes, even bought the battery pack to make them a bit bulkier. I also 3d printing analog extenders and super glued analog grips to them.

Guys what kind of exlusive content (clothing, weapons etc) is currently available (for a limited time) it seems to me I have to play Salmon Run to get a shirt or something + there's app exclusive clothing as well. When do they update? Weekly?
Anybody knows about this?

Disappointed to hear that it's tough to play in handheld mode :-(

It's not. I've only played it that way so far and I'm usually a TV Mode user.

You can play solo

Do you unlock more hair styles in the game?

You can't.

I've found the joycon sticks extremely sensitive so sometimes just resting my finger on the right stick is enough for it to move.

This killed me a couple times in Zelda where Link would walk off a cliff lol

That's me! Cool they added something to do while you wait.

EDIT: In The Square, why is the second menu greyed out? I've talked to both of those dudes but it's still an unselectable menu item.

Seems impossible to get a full team going at Profreshional rank, and the game will still let you try with just yourself......
Edit: Demoted back to overachiever,gr8 decision making Nintendo.
