As much as I love this game, no other shooter makes me so angry when I lose. Haha. Especially when the opposing team turns the tables in the last 30 seconds of the match. This certainly isn't a "turn your brain off and have fun" kind of game.

Tower Control should reset the tower to the middle when ownership changes.

You're doomed to play catch up for the rest of the match if you're on the losing side of the first exchange.

And I'd love Splat Zones with three zones. It's a clusterfuck as is.

Nothing wrong with that, especially in the beginning. You want to have adequate movement options from your base to parts of the map as quickly as possible, but apart from that it's fine to leave a lot of it unpainted and focus on getting control of important, central points. This is what will allow you to comfortably paint the rest of your base as the match progresses.

Oh yeah I'd understand if it were strategic but this isn't about seizing the best points this is literally just people running around looking for the other team, hence we end up with about 20% at the end!

So true. Splatoon is designed with crazy comebacks in mind. Its like MArio Kart without blueshells.

How's Nintendo been with fixing glitches and shit on their semi-esports titles? Apparently there's a thing to farm unlimited XP tickets now by just picking up tickets from a single player level and restarting it?

Can't do it yet and regardless, won't anyway 'cause leveling's half the fun, but this does kinda suck this wasn't considered..

edit I might be very late with this, just read it on some German site.

it used to do that in splat 1.

it sucked. you'd gain a shittonne of ground and then get it all reset back to zero because of an entire team wipe while your opponents yee-hawed it two thirds of the way to your goal.

splat zones should have more dual zones though. I noticed that moray has two, which is nice, except they're right next to each other which sucks.

Port Macquerel used to have two distant ones, and it was far better.

Camp Triggerfish had two at throwing distance of each other, but with a hole inbetween, and the road from one to the other was quite long, it was probably my favorite map in Splat zones...

rapid blaster is very fun. i like the inkmines a lot actually, you can see where you placed them, they echolocate enemies you splatted, and you can tell when they go off! Huge improvements!

Glad to see others understand the viability of the ink mines this time around :)

I'm very sure the Lv. 20 weapon you unlock is the good ol' E-liter. Haven't touched Splatoon 1 in ages, but it looks like a charger and it doesn't look like a Squiffer. Also, -one- weapon out there has to have a maxed range stat...

Holy shit it is fucking frustrating how many fucking inbred morons there are who don't understand the point of rainmaker why are you fucking painting our base you idiot.

It's good to pain the rainmaker path on your side of the base, otherwise the opponent won't face any obstacles.

Also good to build special. Having tons of movement options is good too.

Though usually you want to be doing these kind of things different safer times when either the rainmaker shield is still up or your team has it and is safely pushing forward. If the opponent grabs the rainmaker and its going for it, got to drop it all and stop them.

Even when the opponent has it, it's sometimes a better idea to build the special and do defense painting than rushing 1 vs 4... Especially when you can win by simply not allowing the opponent to reach the last 10 meters because you did it yourself.

A lot of matches I lose are because of this. I do like that you truly haven't lost until the very last second. Makes everyone play hard until the very end.

Just unlocked it.

Also can someone tell me why anyone would pick the dynamo roller?
If it's anything like in S1, it has massive range for 1HKOs. You never roll with the Dynamo, just flick it. With sprinklers it was really good in Turf War to quickly paint huge areas and completelt dominate parts of the map with it's long range OHKO. It was also great for TC, wiping everyone close to the tower in one swing.
It's a beast.

*shudders*

I was there, man, back in splat one... when dynamo was the meta and it was carbon and dynamos as far as the eye could see... whole fields aflood with OHKO ink fields... squids drowning in that noxious sweeps... no! Don't take me back! away with ye, foul beast!

I dunno, seems really slow, but I'm game to give it a try. Have been rolling with carbon rollers.

I'm getting more used to the heavy splatling, but fuck me if the loadout it comes with isn' just the worst. The sprinkler seems to be terrible for everything other than throwing it out at the start near the spawn and getting some early points, and the Sting Ray is both impossible to control and impossible to seen where you're aiming because you're character model takes up the whole screen.

Is there a Spatling later on with better gear, or should I get used to it/pray for a new one in an update?

Do you unlock anything if you finish the game? I am still not done with it because I mainly play MP. Also do you get anything for the collectibles?

toss a sprinkler behind foes. bam suddenly they take chip damage or turn around to deal with the sprinkler meaning you can splat them in the face

I'm really digging the Octobrush, it's becoming my main weapon for Rainmaker. There's something really satisfying about slapping someone else's face with a giant brush lol

Holy shit finally got a rainmaker match on my 24th ranked match. It was fun as shit compared to Splatzones/TC which aren't even close imo.

Ranked Mode is a fucking travesty, it's truly some stupid fucking shit. And gating League Battle behind it makes 0 fucking sense. It's really testing how much I like this game and whether I'm gonna keep playing, it's just beyond fucking stupid.

I'll try that out.

they're kind of like the raincloud, what you're really doing is making an area more unattractive for enemies to fight IN. they're not killing weapons or even area denial most of the time because they're weak and easily destroyable, but they can hamper enemies and give you the edge in a combat situation

Hopefully it's taken a nerfing with the jump-flick being a thin line of ink now. Still going to be deadly with a standing flick, but it was jump-flicking that gave it such an insane area of OHKO power.

I can see that, but for the amount of ink it costs to throw one out I'd appreciate a bit more than what they offer. Maybe I'll try being more proactive with them once I get some more ink saver and ink replenishment upgrades on my gear.

Any tips for the Sting Ray? Or am I just completely fucked there? It seems so useless compared to everything else available.

Use the springler as bait, when the enemies try to destroy them splat them safely from long range.

Even though it's a roller it's not a melee weapon, you should use similarly to a splatling, though it's better for surprise attacks, but you should always keep your distance.

And just like that after a long tug of war, my next Rainmaker Ranked Battle is an ace in less than 30 seconds.

I feel so, so bad for the other team. Seriously, you get matched with one person who doesn't know what the fuck they're doing (not super jumping, in another part of map) and its gg.

And holy shit

just spent 4:30 losing to a team that were way better than us, last 3 seconds I send it to OT, sneak into the their base and just, just JUST BARELY take it one little bit further than they did to get us over the line

they would have been BURNING

Yeah I agree, though you can still initiate an horizontal flick, then jump to get the horizontal jumping flick. This is how you did it in S1, so it shouldn't be a problem. In fact it may be stronger now due to having another option with the vertical flick, though I don't know how it'll work as there's no way you'll have time to jump and flick before landing with the slow startup. Probably it's had it's shot wideness nerfed like the normal roller.

I'd like to thank Annie for taking my suggestions to heart and selling stuff other than shirts on SplatNet. A few more 3-star items would be appreciated, but at least it's not all shirts on sale.

That said, no, I'm not going to buy your terrible backwards cap no matter how many times you sell it. What kind of classless heathen do you take me for?
