Just had a big come back on starfish mainstage. First half of the game we got wrecked and they were killing us at almost spawn. Few of us flanked them...and that was that. This stage gives you so many way to flank the opposite team, and you can even snipe from the tower easily or ink their base to draw them out. If you're just charging straight in, I could see why your think it's impossible to make a comeback...but you shouldn't do that.

There are no stages where it's impossible to make a comeback if one team gains the "high ground" first. That's why I don't get the ink your base debate. The games I play are either evenly matched and the terrain advantage is constantly switching or one team is significantly better than the other and win reguardless of what happens at the outset.

Look, maybe NA Starfish Mainstage is somehow different from Japan's, but I can tell you for a fact that at least 90% of matches I play on it are decided in the first minute, and not just the losses. It's virtually never competitive.

That hasn't been my experience at all.

Well obviously my experiences aren't real if everyone else says so. I guess I need to check myself into the loony bin now since I'm obviously crazy and delusional.

My teams have made comebacks and had comebacks done to them in the last ~30 seconds of a match in that stage. In every stage, actually. No matter how much we're dominating in any given game, I don't stop worrying about potential comebacks until the game is like 5 seconds from ending lol, no matter the stage.

I'm a terrible person and I don't deserve anything good in life ever. That's the lesson I've learned from posting in this thread. Thank you everyone.

I really don't like Starfish Mainstage, but an inability to win on the map is not on my list of problems.

I will say that going for the middle is typically the worst strategy when I play on it. It's usually the fastest way to get destroyed. Going around and distracting and/or sneaking behind the enemy team tends to be pretty effective.

Starfish Mainstage is perhaps the one stage where control of the middle has been the most chaotic. Well, besides Moray Towers.

24-12 in 36 Splatfest matches. A lot of matches over 1k in pts once I moved to the Sploosh-omatic. I just seem
to do okay with that gun. Had a couple matches where I went over 1k and was still second.

Out of the 36 matches I think 5 or so were same
side matches. Not as bad as it sounds for some of your guys.

I definitely felt lile the game did okay matching like battle ratings. There was the rare time or two that my team was outclassed by a couple hundred points or had that advantage but overall I noticed teams were within splatting distance.

Now to start grinding ranked matches. Ugh.

Don't worry I'll never change. I'm a terrible person incapable of improving myself or becoming good at anything. I'm not sure why I even do anything.

You just gotta tilt less lol.

It's the same for every competitive games. There are always people who tilt way too much.

For some reason Splatoon gets me on tilt way more than any other comp game and I don't even know why they're fuckin' squid kids shooting ink lmao

All I'm saying is that if a team is so much better than you that they were able to hold down the center for the entire match it probably wouldn't have mattered if you got there first.

I like the Sploosh O Matic gun. I've been using the Aerospray this whole time. It's similar. Less rate of fire, but stronger. I wished it had the Curling special lol

It's very likely just a bad streak of luck. There was the longest time where I couldn't win any TF on Moray Towers. Hell, I still have a hard time. The number of times my team decides to charge towards the enemy tower and ignore the center is ridiculous. But rage-qutting just makes it worse on everyone else. Just keep trying, dude.

Splatoon can be a dynamic game. Plenty of matches are total debacles and then near the end something breaks and it turns around and you pull it out. Doesnt always happen but never give up never surrender. You'll get it.

I think I've sworn out loud more with this game than the entirety of my time in overwatch lmao.

Too be fair I don't like starfish main stage either but I've definitely had matches where we turned it around in the last minute. Don't quit early and don't give up, you never know what could happen!

I dont think that winning the center gets you wins most of the time. It's easier to get specials late in the game and some abilities can REALLY turn the tide quick.

I've lost so many games with a minute to go and suddenly, specials everywhere.

Although yes, there are games where we lost from minute one. This is rare though.

I'm confused at this Aerospray guy on my team. It says he got 0p, meaning he never fired his weapon except possibly on our own ink. 0 kills, 0 assists. 2 times splatted means he left our spawn, doesn't it (because of the shield there)? But the clincher is the 1 special. How do you use a special with 0p inked? He didn't have Tenacity, I checked.

This game makes me mad as fuck, lol. I feel like I'm losing my mind once I get on a losing streak.

I still have a great time, though. Makes the victories feel so much better.

he disconnected.

Kind of a weird thing to ask, but does anyone else constantly get who won wrong by looking at the final map? I'm like "Oh, shit it looks like we lost" followed by "Oh shit, we actually won by 20%".

He disconnected so got 0p.
