Splatoon 2 |OT2| From Smallfry to FlyFish in 5 Easy Steps!

From Profreshional to go-getter in five matches because of fucking disconnects or teammates vanishing or being retarded as fuck.

Fuck salmon run, fuck this unbalanced piece of shit game mode.

Getting a loooot of salmon run disconnects tonight. My internet isn't all that great in general, but it should be working fine tonight

I give up on Splat Zones. Down from S+ to S. People are fucking clueless, jump short distances and have no idea where the enemies are. Use your 👀 ffs.

Two matches ago, one idiot killed me 4 times. Every time I had my special activated, he decided to jump to me.

I don't know how but I got a quad with my one Inkstorm. Sorry, but not sorry other team.

It's hard to tell but you are looking at the aftermath of four, FOUR!! Steel Eels obliterating me during hightide.

The randomizer in this game is fucking stupid.

Giving us a "Left side!" and "Right side!" call-out would improve ranked so much.

As would changing "Booyah!" to "Fall back!" and "This way!" to "Fucking push, assholes!"

I'm a fan of the Sloshing Machine. Haven't had much time to dig in with Manta Maria but it's visually my favorite stage and Tower Control seems great on it.

Which special? Why was it stupid?

Probably so you can build your fest gear to your liking?

Sting Ray. It's stupid because I'm quite stationary with that thing and an easy target. If someone jumps to me, the enemy can easily take out two guys with one hit. It's just not a wise decision, especially because I was close to base. I always try to go near the base before I activate it just in case someone decides to charge at me. But this guy, always jumped to me, like it was on purpose. Enemies saw it every time, charged at us and took us both out. It's infuriating to play S+ with someone like that.

This wasn't the first time I've seen people jump to me the entire match and getting killed in the process. A few hours ago, I had one guy on the team who had 0 kills and died by jumping to me all the time

I'm not sure anymore if they're trolls or simply stupid.

Let me show you what short distances people jump. Just swim there, it's probably faster.

This was also a genius move: two guys jumping a short distance, both died, of course:

Found fresh gameplay in trying to get the hero dualies. I'm only halfway through the story mode anyway but decided to start over so I can knock them out as I progress through the rest of it.

Turns out speed-running the stages is pretty fun. Only focusing on dualie times because that's the goal but finding myself spending more time trying to beat my times than just blasting through the levels again. Just managed 1:59 on the first level, which is as good as I think I'll get without shortcuts or tricks - which I'm now interested in looking for on a slow run.

Then on top of that thinking about what guns after the dualies might be good to beat certain records set with them on some maps.

Damn this game has a truckload of quality content lol.

I really don't like the weapons in the current Salmon Run :/

My unscientific evidence points to Flight being more popular? So far the app says my friends have gone for flight 6 votes to 3. (EU)
I would have bet on fly, and I'm more and more sure that's the "correct" one.

I see... (and I had misunderstood you)

I can understand how it can be frustrating. I guess he could have wanted to protect you, but if so, he failed and it was a bad call.

Is the jump really that useful to pinpoint where the stingray is coming from, though?

That depends. It's mostly an issue that I try to take out some guy in the distance and an enemy close by rushes over to take two of us out, leaving our team exposed to a rush attack.

Salmon Run map rankings so far:

High Tide:

1. Marooner's Bay
2. Lost Outpost
3. Spawning Grounds

Normal Tide:

1. Spawning Grounds
2. Marooner's Bay
3. Lost Outpost

Low Tide:

1. Lost Outpost
2. Spawning Grounds
3. Marooner's Bay

Lost Outpost has the best layout for low-tide events. Marooner's Bay is best for high-tide events since the boat area is so large with no real obstacles. Spawning Grounds is good for normal and low-tide events thanks to the large area, variety of paths and good visibility.

I mean, if you're expecting most or any new weapons in the game to over-ink the Aerospray you're going to be looking for a long time. It's literally built to be "spread ink: the gun." :p

Sloshing Machine will never net you the same amount of points but there's plenty it can do that the Aerospray can't. Verticality, hitting over cover, better range, so on and so. It's fine to prefer the Aerospray, particularly for turf war, but it helps not to get too stuck into the same mindset for everything.

Is this really that clear-cut?

Well yes? I routinely see people go after a freaking Maws instead of the 5 flyfish that bombard the entire team nonstop.
Or lead grillers directly toward you, or swim towards you while the artillery aims at him, killing you in the progress...

I regularly see people absolutely fail to understand the mothership or the goldie hunt...

It will be nice once more people realize the extremely cheap trick to making goldie rushes on Lost Outpost a piece of cake.

Mind sharing?

No JP Splatfest announcement. :(

I like that means JP don't share themes with NA/EU, but 5 weeks between 1st and 2nd splatfest is just not acceptable. First is a balance patch that doesn't fix the main balance problem, now this. Not to mention only one new normal map one month after launch. I think Nintendo right now is doing a pretty bad job about Splatoon 2, or Hisashi Nogami is too busy developing AC mobile.

I'll grant you the Flyfish is too annoying to let them alone too long, but beside this, I really think it's situational...

That's not a matter of priority about enemies...

Though yes, there's a couple things people don't seem to know (or act upon). Like not opening the pipes close to a low-pressure one. Or defend the basket against the UFO ;)

I'm also angry about one of my team, two went to the canon in a low tide assault, and basically never left. There were probably close to two dozen golden eggs free, but there's a limit to what you can do with two people. Especially when you still have to kill bosses just to reach them.

Mind sharing?
As said, walls... But this one will be well known quickly, I've done it, and have seen partners doing the same just after. It'll spread (till Nintendo notice it)

By the way, you need a Facebook or a Twitter account to be able to post drawings, don't you? :/

I don't get that ranked thing. I was over the OK-line with a B- yesterday and today I'm C+ or something...
There's a rank for each mode... Check the menu in the plazza to see where you stand in each.

Any tips for using the Sloshing Machine effectively? I'm kinda struggling with it, probably because I'm used to the normal Slosher and the Tri where you don't need to worry about aiming all that much. But here, not aiming is the difference between a 2HKO and a 3HKO, which is usually the difference between living and dying.

I feel like it has longer range than the other Sloshers, which is nice, but not if I can't kill just as fast. The Autobombs are great though. Too bad it got stuck with the Sting Ray which I can't use for shit, and even if I could it still wouldn't be that great on Turf War. Right now I'm thinking I'll just get it up to 5.0 Freshness and then go back to the Octobrush for my Autobomb spamming needs.

TBF if the 2 people in cannons are doing their job properly you shouldn't need to worry about anything besides egg collection(or the occasional Maw).

How do specials work in salmon run? Do you have a set amount for the whole time or?

Each person gets 2 specials for all 3 rounds. In addition, each person gets 1 of the 4 available specials (bomb rush, sting ray, inkjet, splashdown).

Try not to burn a special on round 1 or 2 when there are no enemies around!

Very possible, but as soon as they see we struggle to gather the eggs, maybe they should come to help?

With all the grates, it takes time... We miss the quota by 1 :/

Also, if you have the Sting Ray and it's a Mothership round, use it when the mothership attacks the basket.

Actually you should use the Sting Ray before the Mother Ship attacks because the Sting Ray will kill all the flying enemies the second they fly away from the ship resulting in a huge pile of eggs to gather and few enemy swarms to deal with.

Sting Ray's the best special for SR, no question. Kills FlyFish no problem, kills SteelHeads even if you aim at their bodies, fucks up Motherships, ignores things like SteelEels, just great all around.

Maybe that's why it's so lackluster in Turf War.

The Sloshing Machine could be the Aerospray successor... but its special is just trash. That beam gun thing is horrible.
