Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Finally in area 3 of the single player and really liking that getting to the actual stages themselves takes a nice bit of challenge. There is one jump that I could see frustrating some people if they aren't good after jumping in general though. Unless there is another path I'm not seeing.

I do wish the maps rotated themselves out a LOT faster. Four hours is way to long. It should be cut down by half. Right now when I get tired of the maps I'll just load up the single player or just turn the game off. Once I'm done with the single player I'm not sure what I'll be doing other then just getting out of the game.. The number of the maps aren't the problem right now but how long you stay on one set and I figured that would be a problem.

Yea, I don't agree with the 4 hour timer at all. Whenever there's a stage I don't like I have such a high chance of being forced to play it might as well not play at all. And if I want to use a certain weapon but that weapon sucks on one of the maps that's currently up I feel like I shouldn't even bother, which again, just makes me not wanna play.

It's frustrating, and overall seems pointless.

Really loving this game, picked it up today.

Has such a unique and addicting game play, I just couldn't stop playing until my gamepad died lol

Couple gripes though. First, I don't see any option to edit my load out in the lobby area or in the game during a match. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place for that? Second, I played the same 2 maps over and over for several hours. It was beyond repetitive and frustrating.

Other than that I'm loving it. I took off gyro controls today and I seem to have some trouble with accuracy. I am going to try enabling gyro again tomorrow.

Can't wait for some updates and more content for this game. I really think Nintendo has a winner with this game.

Soooo amiibo outfits, can you get them again once you ... get them? Like maybe a 3 star version of them?

Or ones with different mods?

When the Ranked Battles open, the number of available maps to play double.

Ok I fucking give up. Cannot get this game to play online.

It connects to the internet, it sees my online friends, but I cannot for the life of me connect to a lobby. Every fucking time - a bloody 118-0516 error.

I've tried everything - portforwarding, manually setting an IP address for my WiiU, I've extended my network to my Apple Airport Express and then connected to that and not my router/modem. Doesn't matter what I try - I cannot even enter a lobby.

Other games work fine - I can connect to Mario Kart 8 and race away, just not Splatoon.

Half my Sunday has been spent trying to get this shit to work.

What else can I try?

Nintendo got to patch lobby load times and give us the option to back out from the lobby.

Waiting for 1 person for longer than a match is tiring, also the timer keeps resetting. Goes down atleast a minute then resets back to 200sec even though no one joins.

I love setting up different gear for different weapon sets. Ink savers and ink refill on my aerospray and never stop shooting.

Add me for multi!

FJUrban

I probably won't get on again for a little while though. And I'll add my name to the doc later.

Does your router have some sort of internal firewall?

He wants 10.000 for the two stars headphones?! That guy is a rip-off! Bad dealer >_>

Still have not been able to play with gaf squids. Where are you kids?

Well I bowed out for a minute to do some shopping :V I thought you guys were just full up, but.

Thanks for that, guys, was fun! Though yeah, I feel like there's something about skatepark I don't "get" yet. Need to explore that map solo, get a feel for it.

That you can connect to Mario Kart 8 I think means you should be able to connect to Splatoon. Hmm. No issues connecting to the eShop, etc I assume right? It can't be because of the locations of the other players because MK8 allows you to play with others around the world as well. You are still connected to the Nintendo Network as a result.

Have you tried completely removing your network connection from the Wii U (deleting the entry), restarting the system and then readding it? This instead of just editing the entry to manually set the IP?

Also have your changed the DNS setting for the current internet connection?

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Those are Google's that they make available for people to use. Nintendo even suggest those here if you are having connection issues.

As far as the maps go: the whole point is that the available multiplayer maps rotate every... I want to say two hours? The point is, it'll be a selection of maps every little while and it rotates between the available pool at random.

This is actually a pretty good thing, because... well, it pays to get familiar with the maps. This isn't the kind of FPS where you want a gorjillion varied maps that you don't remember very well, map awareness pays off in this game. It's like a MOBA in that regard - you want to be able to glance at the map and be able to plan out your next move and know where you are and where the enemy probably is.
