Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Ok so yesterday was the day everything changed for me in Splatoon. I finally got to level 10 and started getting better gear and playing Splat Zones. I am officially addicted and thinking about it all day at work. Humming the victory song, thinking about strategies and what gear/perks to get. My god Nintendo gets me every time.

Oh and my post wouldn't be complete without a question. Do win streaks increase your experience or money earned at all?

You get a money bonus if you talk to Judd after a winning streak.

Echolocators are best for Splat Zones in my opinion. I see them all the time in ranked. Knowing where the enemies are approaching from is huge. In Turf War they are just okay, since it is kind of a free for all.

I was under that impression myself, but it seems people really consider it not widespread enough. It's good to see I'm not the only one who thinks this way.

Nah, it's a bad perk, like the shoe one that reveals mines. Far too situational, and the alternatives are more useful. Recon is like a brief echolocator when you're standing at spawn, and ninja squid is just amazing. Both of those are always useful and don't depend on your enemy's decisions on what gear they bring.

Well, as I implied above, I have faced a lot of echos in ranked, and GAF rooms often have one at the very least. It is situational indeed but I wouldn't consider it a bad perk. Also, recon doesn't share information with your team, so I'd actually consider that the inferior option (I use echo a lot, so that might be why). I agree on the ninja squid one, though.

I've played very little with weapon sets containing the splat wall, but when I have I've often had trouble getting it where I want.

I haven't used the splat wall much, but is it not like other sub weapons where if you hold down the button it shows you where you'll be throwing?

I was getting rekt as a kelp charger in the central maze section in Port Mackerel, so I decided to stay back and guard the base by camping from above the containers and ledges over the ally base until my team managed to dominate the center, and my results improved greatly with all the teams I played with.

I'm struggling with the sprinkler though. I have yet to learn how to place it well instinctively, but that may be a matter of accumulating experience with it.

I'm usually never in any rush to do so at the start of a round.

Considering the likely deaths you or your team mates will go through you'll have plenty of chances to ink the base after you've managed to make the race to the key points.

We lost by a few percentages, all of which could've been caught up in our own base. Once the match starts, especially with equal match, there is no time except at the start

I definitely agree that Echolator is great for Splat Zones. However, when I do use it I lose way more than I win because it seems like whenever I don't have Inkstrike no one else does either and Inkstrike has literally won me ranked matches before. Echolocator important but I'm going to go ahead and say it: Inkstrike is better for that mode. It's an extremely quick way to stop the timer if the other team has control and makes for an easy push while they try to re ink.

Finally dragged my way up to B-. Still getting paired with utter vomtards so am not rating my chances of staying there, but it's nice to at least have seen another letter grade, even if it's only briefly.

On my end you are the only one lagging so I'm betting it's your connection.
You are the only person who kills me after i kill you, though. And I remember someone complaining about you teleporting around, so I am not sure if my connection is the problem.

Like I said I seriously doubt I lag when I don't have problems beyond certain inviduals but I can restart my modem to see if that improves the situation in any case.

My teams usually have one Inkstrike on them, and it is absolutely useful in Splat Zones, but I think a Roller can do the same job if you have Echolocator on your team, as you can just kill them and re-ink quickly that way.

Ideally having a roller on your team with a human form move speed bonus would be great.

I got the game now.

I'm Level 5 and recently beat the first boss.
It had nice legs.
