Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

I just had a great run. 9 game winning streak and over 1000p in each one. The Aerospray MG + Seeker have changed my Splatoon life.

PS: Gaiaknight where'd you get your gear?

Been playing this game a lot the last few days and I'm in love. I really hope that Nintendo establishes Splatoon as one of their big IP's.

If anyone's up for some Turf Wars, feel free to add me: NNID: Jimmy90. You'll be playing against this fancy squidgirl:

If you don't have blue, heng, violet or me added I can back out and add you next game.

the head piece is from beating story mode and the body and shoes are from the squid amiibo challenges.

The skate park is the only map that struggles showing up my ink sometimes. I'll ink the ground and nothings happens until it corrects itself. Pretty annoying.

I think that happens when someone in the game has connection issues. I'm on a wired connection, and still some occasional matches that happens. Usually, that match ends with someone getting 0 points.

Can attest to this. I had that happen to me one match and got booted a couple minutes in. Was rather frustrating.

I always get lag in the skatepark too. Weird
I notice in the mall I get lag in a certain spot. I think it is due to when all 8 players are spread out shooting different bits of ground at a quick rate, it leads to a lot of data being generated and however it works it can not cope at that point.

It also preceded by a slight and brief frame rate drop.

So generally I'm not good at death match style, headshot focused, K/D ratio games. And I dont like'em. But I love counter strike, and enjoyed whatever mode it was in titanfall where you're defending bases and taking over others. I liked defending areas and pressing forward when appropriate, rather than just going in all gung-ho. It kind of sounds like splatoon might appeal, as it sounds less death match and more area conquest/holding. Would you agree? Is there a demo?

Just had my best game, 1476 points with 15 kills and 2 deaths. It was even on a 3v4 game (me being on the 3 person team, of course). I just went extremely aggressive and it worked out really well.

I'm level 19 with half my XP filled, so close to 20!

Does anyone know how to unlock Spyke's ability to add to or change gear abilities? Is it at level 20?

Splatoon is everything but death match. Some players seems to think it is a death match kind of game, but players on the higher levels have learned the rules of the game. :-)

There was the Firetest Demo some week ago. And some stores have a demo of the single play campaign.

Then the other team grabs the rest of the map.

So you leave and the other team gets the part of the map you just left. Either way, you're going to have to depend on your teammates to help you out by covering the part of the map you're not covering.

Super Jump has quickly become my most hated mechanic in this game.

Great in theory! In practice? All three of your teammates super jumping to you just as you die, then giving the enemy a quadruple kill. Or teammates just forgetting how to walk and super jumping to you a half second after you left spawn...

Whole base could be covered in enemy ink, but they want the free ride so "Weeeeee!" to the opposite side of the map instead. Defense!

Matches are 3 minutes long. It's kind of an essential feature for a game like this. Of course it can be misused but overall, it's a fantastic part of the game.

Baffled by how many people think the game is all about kills. I just played a game where my entire team ran to the center of saltspray rig without painting anything and it seems the other team di the same thing. I ran around half the match spraying unpainted ground until everyone figured out what is going on.

Seriously, painting isn't just needed to win, it helps a ton with defense and movement. Kills are more important than I think people first thought since that is precious time you have to respawn and travel that the other team could be capturing territory but the strength of the whole team suffers if peopls aren't able to do at least one or the other, if not both.
