Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

WELL GREAT.

So I figured it was time to try online. About 10 seconds in, "A Communications Error Occurred". Crap, tried again. 10 seconds again, a Wii U message popped up saying I had no internet.

Alright, well, I still have my old LAN adapter that I used on my Wii, guess I'll use it for my Wii U.

NOPE, still occurred. I guess it explains why I'd be shooting ink, yet nothing would show up.

Man, I'm really starting to love the inkzooka. Went rambo into an enemy base in the last minute and held the enemy team off long enough for my team to paint everything behind me and push in as well. Was holding them off decently but once I got that inkzooka, it was over. One good shot splatted three of them and another swam off only to get squished by one of our rollers moving into the base. So hype, and so awesome!

Did you get the one below? There's one sort of below the area, in a hole. If I'm remembering the right area.

yea, the one on the ground inbetween the structure I got. There doesn't seem to be a map online, I kinda figured they just unlocked in "order", but I guess you can do them in any order? I guess I will just go back and check it out when I get some time later on tonight to play.

Yeah, you can open them all right from the start, in any order (for that area, of course). Get up high and spray around if you can't find one

inkzooker on port mack is fantastic, rushed to the enemy splat zone and took out every single team member in one shot then capped it for that beginning rush.

I feel like a covered the whole damn place in yellow (color of that moment). But, yea looks like I will have to keep trying.

There's only one reason I hesitate to play more Ranked (dispite really liking it) - The Disconnects. I get barely any DC's in Regular, and when I do, I don't care that much (since there's no penalty). But in Ranked, I get DC constainly. Every session I play of Ranked ends with me being pissed from a DC; it keeps undoing my progress :(

I just hate when I'm on a upper level and they close in on me >.>

My issue with Inkzooka is that I impulsively spam it when I shouldn't. The recoil always throws me off

I've pretty much learned to treat the Inkzooka as a limited use sniper rifle myself. I thought it was going to be something like a grenade launcher and got sad at first but once I learned to play it like a sniper, I started getting some wild KOs from it. It's easily the most satisfying thing in the world to four person kill with.

Ah fuck it's Testfire Nation all over again

I can't believe I just noticed this, but when jumping repeatedly while moving, the Inkling alternates which foot they use to leap. I've been skipping around the hub area for ages, just marvelling at this. Splatoon really sweats the details when it comes to making movement fun.

Wait, has anyone NOT noticed this? I figured this out like 10 seconds after arriving in the plaza for the first time. Skipping around places and over peoples' heads is cute.

I've been messing around with the Charger today and realized how underrated it actually is when used properly. You just have to realize it's more for maintaining territory rather than treading ahead (like how the Splattershot and Roller are played).

Also played much more of Splat Zones.

...I love it...

...I hate it...

Maps with one zone only are the best. Having two zones leads to way many one-sided victories and/or stalemates.

I think along the same lines.
My big problem I kept running into was actually the pushback from using it, kept pushing myself into enemy ink that always ended up behind me, heh.

I finally got around to finishing single-player. Overall it was pretty good, though I think they could do far more with level design in a sequel. It was definitely a bit on the easy side, but that doesn't bother me much.

The final-boss though, that was incredible and very difficult.

So I KIND OF fixed my problem. Changed the DNS number & now it lasts the entire match.

The problem? It randomly decides to NOT have the ink I shoot land on the surface.

Yay, bought this today, hoping to try it out over the weekend.

Also, rumor time. Anyone know if this is fake or not?

I laughed at how different you guys are than the Smash thread.

Prompt reply "Nah, it's fake" and then you just move on.

If this were Smash there would be 4 pages of discussion on that imagine and someone scanning every pixel.

Holy shit I didn't even think of the speedrunning applications of this game. There's a post on Reddit about it now.

For what it's worth I pointed out the inconsistency of the Super Mario and Sunshine logo being Japanese but not the Splatoon logo, lol

I had 3 kills. I was doing the vast majority of defending.

Constantly resplatting the enemy's color.
You were defending and only got 3 kills? That doesn't sound right. You should have a lot more kills than that if you're the main defender (assuming its not a blowout in witch case you usually will)

First match of the day, two of my teammates disconnect and then I'm stuck several minutes in the lobby with four other people waiting for teammates. Good start

Yea I'm planning to run the game during the summer. Just want to get a better time in Tropical Freeze and then I'm going straight to Splatoon!

How fast is your Internet? You even have it wired right? That's weird.
Yup, I found the old LAN adapter I used, so I have an ethernet connection connected to the wireless router.

Right now, SpeedTest says my download speed is 2.24Mbps. On a good day, it's more around 4Mbps.

Aaannnddd now I get error 106-0502. Maybe I should reset my router.

Are the Aerosprays and Splattershot Jrs overrated in Turf Wars?

I notice that I put up waaaaaay more points with them because of how well they cover, but have also noticed that matches tend to get flipped more often when my team is full of them. Have had rounds in Urchin Underpass where I get taken out by the other team in the middle, they take over the middle area, and then I have trouble approaching during the rest of the match.

Playing some rounds with the Dual Squelcher, I don't put up as many points but the rounds where we are ahead, we generally stay ahead. Just wall people out with that range and they can't approach.

I dunno, it's going to ultimately be about having a well-rounded team but I feel like the short-range weapons get too much of the glory. The points breakdown in the ranking seem to lead to the conclusion that you should be playing those weapons. I mean, I play a lot of Aerospray myself. Maybe I should play more of the ranged stuff more often.

Kraken Roller or Gold Dynamo Roller for ranked?
I've been having some fun with the Gold Dynamo Roller, but I'm debating changing it. Aside from the skatepark and mackerel port, all the splat zones have too many obstacles in them for its wider range to really give much of a benefit.
