There's already an action figure of her out with the Anakin saber.

I meant for Episode VIII. It's typical Jedi tradition to build your own lightsaber, but Luke may just let Rey carry on the legacy by using his father's like how he did for a time. I do suspect that at some point she'll have to build her own though.

that's not the first time we saw that one either, is it?

edit: ah they just matched the new description to an old picture

And there's an Anakin figure that comes with Dooku's lightsaber.

Well he did use it in ROTS:

Jumping in on the Ren/Finn/Rey fight discussion... The descriptions we got iirc made it sound like Finn kind of got steamrolled, with Rey also getting handily overpowered (with the implication that Ren was apprehensive about finishing her off for whatever reason).

This seems to make sense to me. Kylo has likely been a dark side user for many years, possibly a decade or two even by now. Maybe he has never faced a legit saber opponent, but we have no reason to think Finn (especially if we assume he has no force sensitivity) should be able to stand against an experienced (even if not fully traditionally trained) force user from the Skywalker bloodline.

If Finn holds his own TOO well, I feel like that would diminish Kylo as a villain.

It would make sense that Rey could potentially hold her own more, but having her do "too well" against Kylo could also diminish him as a villain.

I'm a little concerned that they even have Finn using the lightsaber at all (if he's not force sensitive) but until proven otherwise, I'll trust that Abrams and Kasdan knew what they were doing and got the balance right for that scene.

I don't think anything would diminish Kylo as a villain after what he did right before the big duel.

What the fuck kind of potato shit quality is that lmao

edit: ah nm looks like this was taken from a video

Yeah, it appears the writer is associating Freeze's description with the SDCC concept art leak.

Freeze's info blowing up on Star Wars Leaks now lol.

Freezasaurus, you know what you must do now. Go back and take a photo.

My hope is that neither Kylo Ren, Rey, or Finn will look particularly killed with the saber. I want to see a lot of bashing just like Luke in ESB and ROTJ.

There isn't any reason why these folks should be nearly as acrobatic as the jedi we saw in the prequels. Saberfighting is a lost and forgotten art by now.

For about a minute, which was my point.
I didn't even know that figure existed. I just thought "Hmm... who barely used someone else's lightsaber once?" and then did a quick search based on my own answer.

Yes, and a huge part of it involves the weapon touching your body.
So? The force exists, they can do things we can't. And for certain movements all a skilled user of one would have to do is turn off a side to do complicated spins and attacks. The only actual challenge is getting a good enough choreographer to be able to take advantage of the weapon. Which was done extremely well in Phantom Menace

Serious question: Will Collider ever admit they screwed up with Snoke?

Isn't Snoke supposed to be a completely new character? I know that John Campea and the Collider guys have been pushing hard that Snoke is going to be Plaguies, but dear god, these guys hate the prequels hard, yet seemed hyped to the idea that Snoke will be Plaguies. I really hope this film has no ties with the prequels, as I thought that the Plaguies idea, as well as Sifo Dyas from Attack of the Clones were poorly implemented plot points from those films. Why then hitch this new film onto a damaged property that alienated the fanbase they're trying to reconnect with?

Keeping it all within the OT framework is the safest path to take right now. And if they strike gold with the sequel territory, then they can perhaps dip further into the well and try rehabilitating stuff from the prequel era.

Wasn't there something about Boyega choosing his lightsaber color? I imagine if he was, then same went for Ridley.

I just saw an awesome Force Awakens trailer. It showed some light saber action and more of the Millennium Falcon. So cool!

However, I should probably find my way to the OT because I want to avoid spoilers for now.

Will we see Snoke in person or is it like a hologram/monitor thing and his full reveal will be saved for the next episode?

Wait, I thought that the jedi actors were only allowed to choose the hilt types and not the blade color. That's what I recalled reading years ago. And I always assumed that the only reason Lucas acquiesced to Sam Jackson's request for a purple lightsaber was because of who he was.

I want that soundtrack to leak tomorrow. Please Music Gods. Please I am begging you.

I mean I know it would but in that clip.. It sounds like Star Wars.

It sounded kinda like Revenge of the Sith, honestly.

I'm hoping he mixes in some more of that string & woodwind work he did so well in Star Wars.

Yeah, I listened to it a second time and it did sound like it. :/

But, I am still keeping hope that it's not all like that.

I agree, some of that string & woodwind work is beautiful to listen to especially in A New Hope.

Someone on reddit claiming the TFA audiobook accidentally leaked on Audible:

I saw a link earlier in my Audible app for The Force Awakens audiobook, I clicked it and ordered it for $28 and was able to immediately listen to it. I've listened to the entire audiobook today.... Now when I click the link it says preorder for $28... Not sure if I was supposed to be able to buy it...
Want spoilers, pm me. Don't want to post here and ruin for everyone. I regret listening to it now because I feel like I ruined the movie for myself when I go to watch it on the 17th. The audiobook has now been removed from my library too???
I will say this... The initial Luke reveal is going to be intense during the movie but I think the part where the Knights of Ren face off with Luke in the rain will probably be the best moment of the film... It shows you how powerful he has become since ROTJ... I won't spoil any further but that will be the pinnacle moment of the movie I think.

No idea if legit, but go crazy

No idea if legit,

It is almost never, ever, ever legit. Ever.

I think it's happened like, once? Maybe twice?

I work at Audible. The files aren't even stored on our store network yet. With something like this, it's typically a tight window. And publicly, we haven't even announced the narrator yet. There is absolutely no way he downloaded this audiobook yet, because I haven't even heard it.

Don't believe the hype, guys.

By the way, I'm reporting this to shut it down. I'll provide mods proof that I work there if need be.

Well then.

People basically only go to that subreddit to either a) complain about Making Star Wars or b) look for an hour to kill stirring the chumbucket with completely fabricated bullshit.

Fair enough. I'll try to confirm future shit before posting it here then.
