Leia and Landos lovechild

I decided to sign up and ask him about Luke:
1.- Is Luke only in a flashback scene and at the very end? Do we get to see him in other parts of the film?
He's not only in a flashback.
2.- Does Luke share a scene with Han and/or Leia that isn't part of flashback sequence?
Yes. But this is a tad ambiguous. lots of shit goes down in Act 3.

There! I am satisfied! Completely. I trust him, and I rarely trust anyone who doesn't have pics. I am a believer!

EDIT 2: I'm a bit busy now, but later today I will send him another PM with all your questions that are a reply to this post.

If true, JJ addressed what I thought would be the biggest complaint.

Also the guy said that Snoke looks like the Plagiues image that Collider was talking about the other day.

Are there any characters in the EU who fight with a lightsabers but aren't force sensitive? Other than, like, Grievous?

Would really suck if Finn got sidelined because he didn't have the gift. Would be cool if he still fought like a bamf with one, even if he didn't have the force.

On a semi unrelated note, I've known about some of the plot for a while, borderline meaningless stuff, and it's going to be incredibly satisfying getting to be able to talk to people about it in a week.

Or that Rey "Saves" him but is still easily beaten by Kylo. If Finn jobs just to make Rey look more capable I'll be pissed.

I think Finn holds his own for a while but there is no way he should be able to stand up to someone like Ren for any substantial amount of time. I think he gets hurt and Rey comes to help. I don't think it's an heroic moment for her though. I think some sort of event happens that separates Rey and Finn from Kylo

Do we have an idea of what BB-8's personality is like? I don't remember picking up on it in the earlier info. I kinda hope it's an asshole, like Chopper.

I hope he makes sexist and racists jokes all the time, completely high on spice and blasting jizz out of his speakers.

I'm honestly hoping Kylo just uses his force abilities to get the upper hand, or something that doesn't make Finn look like an utter goof.

I remember just watching an interview with Driver and Boyega where Boyega describes the fight as brutal and one of the best fights.

Granted, they're bias with being in the movie and having to promote it and all, so they won't say it's dog shit. But a fight that's at least good isn't where one participant gets steamrolled.

So I'm holding out hope that Finn puts up a decent fight, and this isn't the first and last movie we see of Finn with a lightsaber.

Han, Chewie, the Gamemaster, Pre Viszla, Morit and Aiolin, and Commander Karbin are all canon Force non-sensitive characters who have fought with lightsabers.

I think it's definitely, 100 percent going to be an heroic moment for her.

Early in the movie, she literally runs away from the lightsaber (And her destiny).

So when she picks that thing up at the end...you best believe that when that music starts swelling, with Han dead, with Finn on the ground vulnerable and severely injured...it's going to be her biggest moment in the film. She'll finally be accepting her destiny. It seems that this moment is what this film is mostly building up to.

I hope they blow it up, if only so we can maybe have a good SW movie that doesn't involve a superweapon.

We've had that before, no?

Also, tbf, the "superweapons" are essentially macguffins, aren't they? Wjhat they are doesn't matter, you could change it to something else of super great importance that needs to be shot the shit out of by Oscar Isaac etc.

Do they destroy the Not Death Star in this or does that come in the sequels?

Not sure but...if it's dug into a planet...blowing up a planet would be a step up.

The thing I'm most excited for is to finally see Chewie pull someone's arm out of its socket. I know it'll be off-screen, but so sweet.

That's cool that they both think it's the best lightsaber duel in any Star Wars film. I don't think they're bullshitting either. We're in for a treat guys.

Hopefully as so far I'm not that thrilled with what I've seen. Not feeling the new characters yet plus I was disappointed with no Lando in this episode. I don't want to keep watching the original trilogy for Star Wars greatness.

I'm fine with Finn getting beat, but some of the initial spoilers made it sound like he just got steam rolled and the fight is over in five seconds. That'd be kind of lame

Freezasaurus posted in the community board's OT thread impressions of Snoke's face as it appears in the art book, although it doesn't state if it's concept art or final art:

His face kind of looks a bit similar in design to the Kaminoans (with smaller eyes), but the left half of his face is deformed.

I mean, he still looks mostly human, but his skull is a different shape. Smaller jaw than a human. The Kaminoans are the first thing that sprang to mind.

The way I see the Finn and Rey fight against Kylo is:

- Finn can just about defend himself. He never really threatens him, just manages to hold his own whilst Kylo effectively plays with him. Kylo gets bored, takes Finn's hand and throws him (with the force) to the ground. He's out for the count. The lightsaber falls in the snow.

- Rey runs to Finn, who's lying battered and bruised and missing his hand. Upset, she finally gives in and defend her friend. She reaches for the saber and it jumps into her hand. Through her training as a child (massive speculation), she's confortbale with the blade, and can match Kylo's force prowess. They're both raw and have never faced an opponent like one another before. The fight is cut short as Poe's team destroy the Starkiller Base's main weapon.

Mainly my imagination talking, but I would be shocked if Finn doesn't lose a hand, and Rey doesn't use the force to grab the saber.

I hope Kylo says "You aren't my Father" before he kills Han. I don't see what the problem is. I think that shit is awesome.

People love to hate on the "It's like poetry, it rhymes" line, but really there's nothing wrong with callbacks if they're handled well and artfully. When you're trying to work in a long-running saga, having repeated motifs help the whole thing feel cohesive and whole.

Just... Not stuff like this:
tumblr_n8vuc8dM3c1tulhogo1_250.gif

Who wants to bet that there will be a scene where Han Solo just shoots the Stormtrooper wielding the lightsaber proof baton to help out Finn and then remarks something like "not so civilized now"? or "hey Finn, maybe try something not as clumsy or random".

Sooo. I got to spend a good 20 minutes with the Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens today. There was surprisingly nothing super spoilery. Anyway, ask some questions and I'll pop by later and answer. Lot of gorgeous stuff in that book.

Sounds boring. Kaminoans are a boring humanoid Grey-like design. I want a crazy, ridiculous snake man.

I swear if Snoke looks even close to that ugly - ass Super 8 alien but thinner, I'm going to be upset. All of the other alien designs for this have looked great so far. Don't fuck up Snoke.

Whatever Snoke looks like, he has to look iconic. The Super 8 alien and the Cloverfield monster don't have very iconic faces, but Star Wars villains always look great, and JJ has been nailing all of the other aesthetics, so I'd be surprised if he made it look something more like his previous monster designs.

Just finished my OT rewatch. But earlier than I'd planned but I was too excited!

I forgot how brilliant everything with Luke, Vader and the Emperor was. The battle too, though that was a lot shorter than I remembered.

Here's hoping the duels in TFA have what the OT oozed; emotion and meaning. The anger in Luke where he briefly gives in, the music, Vader and especially the Emperor taunting him. The music...oh lord the music. I think after watching the OT in quick succession, the final act of ROTJ has some of the best music in the saga. ROTJ has some of the hugest highs of the OT IMO, even if it averages out below he other two.

I've been ok with what I've read for TFA; it kind of makes sense and seems to be the right way to go. It's all down to the execution. The things I wasn't sure on (Poe's name, Finn's accent) have kinda grown on me. I like the sound of the story but it's all about making sure the "feel" is right. The emotion throughout the OT is just so great, and I hope that's weaved into the new characters.

The double bladed lightsaber is amazing, and its disuse in everything but the EU is a crime. It's no less dumb than Kylo Ren's crossguard, considering people actually fought with staves in real life.

Yes, and a huge part of it involves the weapon touching your body.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rey gets a double bladed lightsaber just because of her staff. That would be an interesting differentiation, unless Luke lets her use Anakin's lightsaber while he uses his green one.

There's already an action figure of her out with the Anakin saber.
