Softenni 02 - Losing no time reminding us why this show exists, are they... is there even more fanservice in this episode than the first one? Plus, this episode, lots of "girls x tennis teacher" suggesting, just great! Make it go away. The censoring's pretty random too, a few pantyshots are censored while plenty of others aren't. Odd. This show's pretty bad, doubt I'll be watching for much longer (might drop it now). Even just finishing this episode was a chore.
I didn't know that soft tennis was a real thing in Japan, though. Huh.
As for a ranking, I already did one a few pages ago, but eh, why not again, people didn't really seem to notice. Plus I can add AnoHana to it, and drop Softenni down a category.
Oh, I'm planning on watching ep. 1 of Hyuge Mono soon.
(good)
1. AnoHana
2. Nichijou
3. Gosick (it's 24-26 episodes, so it can count I think...)
(medium, will see)
4. Hanasaku Iroha
5. Dog Days
(definitely poor so far)
6. Softenni
7. Hen Zemi (the OVAs are quite a bit better than TV ep. 1)
8. A-Channel
(worst)
9. Sengoku Otome (Battle Maidens: Time Paradox)
Movies/OVAs
1. Nichijou OVA
2. Evangelion 2.22 (sorry, I have to punish it for what it does to Asuka...)
4. Hen Zemi OVAs 1-2 (2 is probably better than 1)
5. Bakatest OVAs 1-2 (the first one would go above #4, maybe, the second well below it)

If we are opposites, then you should really like football, the sport I dislike by far the most of the major team sports. It's such an incredibly stupid sport...
Everything has some fans, everything.
Somewhere, yes, but not necessarily other ones that post in GAF anime threads.
As if the first one's actually any different in quality or something? Hah.
But then you also have to take into account that for some shows part of the enjoyment is from watching it at the same time as everyone else, going back and watching an older show alone loses that feeling. So like in Kannagi we all had fun with "It's a Sony," but someone watching it for the first time would still find it mildly amusing but wouldn't really get to take part in the image spamming on this forum or elsewhere for that matter. In Taisho Yakyuu Musume we all had fun posting Koume's little song and dance from the first episode, that's no longer going to happen as much. So for a lot of shows that walk the decent line a large part of their enjoyment is directly tied to everyone else seeing it at roughly the same time, it's a group thing. So it's not so much that I left them off because I thought watching them now is harder than it was then but because without that group experience I didn't think they were as good.
So with how I rank things, worth buying and worth going back and watching alone are more or less the same thing.
That's exactly the kind of reasoning I was arguing against, I think... what matters most is how good it was when you saw it. "Will I watch it again", etc, that's a different issue.
On the question of watching shows because of GAF though, usually I watch things because I;m interested, not just because a bunch of people are watching it. I do have to admit some exceptions though, most recently IS... I'm not so sure I'd have watched the whole stupid thing if not for bashing it constantly on GAF.

Tennis has never interested me much one way or the other. There are some decent tennis videogames, though. The same is true for volleyball.

Baseball is the best, but Golf is pretty awesome, too.
Watching golf, golf videogames, either way golf is mind-numbingly boring.

Excuse me, I think you mean Starcraft!
Okay, I'll give you that one. Starcraft as a sport is pretty awesome. The game is my favorite game ever though, so I'm biased.
As for sports though I don't watch sports that much, but apart from sometimes watching baseball, I do watch the Olympics when they're on, too. I mostly though was comparing baseball to the other major team sports, basketball, football, soccer, and hockey. Baseball is best by far in my opinion, football worst.

Bamboo Blade. It's fencing, but better.
Bamboo Blade was pretty good, yeah. One of my favorite shows that year, as my list showed.
