Because I'm bored, anime that sold so poorly it wouldn't even rate on the frt scale:

Interesting to see stuff like Inazuma Eleven on there. Doesn't that show get really high ratings. I guess in the backwards ass anime industry popularity =/= sales.

Stuff that is popular on TV doesn't always equate to great DVD sales. A niche otaku show can sell much better than a popular kids show, but the DVD sales aren't really important to the success of the latter, while they are to the former.

Even though I don't follow Naruto anymore (the anime at least), hot damn if they still don't put out some painfully catchy stuff as openings (stuff that I normally wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole). Lovers is ridiculously infectious. That lead riff just gets me. Ugh.

Edit: Definitely tabbing this out.

Yeah I know. It's just surprising how they aren't correlated at all. It's also interesting to see Kaiji on there. That show was successful enough to get another season years later, but it evidently sold pretty poorly. I guess it makes money because of high ratings/merchandise.

Gundam Unicorn - 03

Am I insane if this is becoming my favorite Gundam thing ever?

Makes me want to complete my sweep of the franchises by watching the 8th MS Team and Turn A.

Index II 22

Holy shit at that ending. WTF did Accelerator do? Though even before that, Kihara is weak as shit. Dude can't even overpower a severely weakened Accelerator who is supposed to be quite brittle since he always relied on his powers. Though I guess he can't be that weak if he's tearing pieces of people's head off.

Also, Vento's motivation/sob story was dumb as hell. "A roller coaster killed my brother, SO SCIENCE IS EVIL!". The fight was cool though. Touma's trademark woman punch was great here.

Revolutionary girl utena 34-39 (finale) - Those last 6 episodes were certainly something, i swear most of the meaning and themes flew right over my head, might be needing a re-watch to put everything together.. that said based sorely on the great characterization and crazy stylish direction and themes, this was a damn good show, plus the story structure was certainly uniquely done, never seen anything quite like it. Going watch the movie tomorrow (if i can).

Windy tales 1 - I am now baffled by how I've ignored this series for so long, because the first episode really impressed me - everything from the mood to the art direction to the characters was so good, must watch more.

Sket Dance 5

The plus side of anime high school is that you don't have to deal with classes. The downside is that an absurdly overpowered student council will spoil all your fun.

Oh, and Switch remains awesome.

You should agree with me more!

But seriously, while I like Youko and think they did a good job with her I really liked Shoukei's growth as a character. That's actually pretty impressive because usually I have trouble liking a single character's growth over a series let alone two.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, Hidan no Aria is probably the worst show I've seen in a long time, maybe years, decades even, it's that fucking bad.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure if I'll continue to like Denpa though now that they really nerfed it's one real hook. I also hate the goofy blond/brown haired girl but the tall girl's fun but, yeah, without the hook it'll probably go downhill.

Index II 23

Cooldown and exposition episode. Not much to say. Glad psycho teleporter is back. Not really sure what anyone will accomplish in 1 episode, but it might be a decent prelude to the next season whenever that may be. Probably should've ended it at Fuze Kazakiri.

Windy tales 5 - The last few minutes of this episode was simply breathtaking, such a beautiful sequence.;_;

But yeah I'm really enjoying this show, might be a new favorite of mine, if this level of quality keeps up for the rest of the run.

The first thirty seconds of that video have more on screen fighting than the last 15 episodes of Beelzebub.

I guess they make all their money back through great game sales.

There's also that scene from one of the movies where the two of them literally just beat the shit out of each other in hand-to-hand combat for like three minutes, but I can't seem to find it.

The director does kind of specialise in having characters grow from being hateful to pretty cool.

That's hard to do, so whenever you see that happen it's kind of impressive.

You missed the most important question. Best Sunglasses in Mecha. I gave it to Harry. He is not the most memorable sunglassed character but the sunglasses themselves are amazing.

It occurs to me that it's been about a month or so since jman2050 first asked for a bad show to watch, and now he's into them so much he's trying to get others to join him in watching Hidan no Aria.

You're a week late, and most importantly you left out that people who pre-order all three will receive some kind of gift. I'm hoping for a remastered movie but it'll probably be some kind of lithograph or some shit.

Index II 24

Kind of a weird episode to end the season on, but not bad. The action at the beginning was cool and the minor tactics with the chaff grenade was somewhat interesting. Drunk Milfsaka was amusing as well.

Overall, pretty decent season. I would say it's better than the first, albeit only slightly. More memorable arcs and villains in this one and A LOT more women punching.

Looking forward to season 3.

Precure fighting (and music) is pretty badass, and I definitely need to watch Utena someday. It's probably more comprehensible than Serial Experiments Lain, at any rate.

ISML rolls into day 6 as things head towards the first round climax. Fate Testarossa, 2008 ISML Champion, shows she hasn't quite faded into obscurity yet by winning her first match this season, a 200 vote victory over Huang Lingyin. Last year's champion, Mio, shows her strength with a decent 960 vote victory over Charlotte Dunois to maintain her perfect record so far.

Meanwhile, the SSS and SOS-dan both erupt into intra-club scuffles, their leaders each challenged by one of their own. While Kanade Tachibana easily hands her superior Yuri Nakamura a crushing 4000 vote loss, Haruhi Suzumiya puts up a decent fight against Yuki Nagato, falling to the quiet girl by about 500 votes.

Fan-favorite Kuroneko, no stranger to sparring with Ayana Taketatsu's voice, finally runs into her match in the latter's own cat-like persona, Azusa Nakano, losing to the band member in a close 120-vote battle. Once again, however, the other guitarist of HTT runs into trouble, as necromancer Eu defeats Yui Hirasawa by 1000 votes.

I'm running out of clever prose, so here's a few more results:
Shana def. Yui (Angel Beats) by 1264
Mikoto Misaka def. Taiga by 540
Tomoyo (Clannad) def. Holo by 638 (but Russia still likes wolf girls)

And Kurumu Kurono over Mint Blancmanche in the exhibition, so I guess people still like vampires or something, I dunno. Tomorrow's is Kaname Chidori vs. Sailor Mercury, so that should be more interesting.

Round 7 is also guaranteed to take out half of the undefeated. That can't be an accident.

Well, this has become like a real show. Strangely enough, there's still very little exposition explaining how the fights work, but some of it you can work out through inference.
