I did find it fairly amusing that
the show would introduce new plastic shit that, by the show's own admission, doesn't even work in combat.
It's always been the future, it's just that no one's sure when that future is actually going to arrive.

Seric Abis definitely up there for the best of the mobile suit formation leaders. I still put Kio as the least good of the three gens. They need to establish what and why is he fighting

unless the search for Asemu is a part of his. He has no meeting with Zehearto so really has no actually attachment to Vegan beyond that. Doubtful that he shares the same hate as Flit, who lost Yurin, since he himself has lost no one. Oh well, am glad the Diva is back.

I watched the first 10 minutes of Garzey's Wing few days ago. Felt like someone took an anime with 60 minutes of material and cut it down to 10. Nothing made sense at all and I don't even think voice actors were reading their scripts in order. It's like they were just reading random lines hoping it will make sense.

I figured that the third-year was covering up something drug-related, but I forgot how seriously Japan takes that stuff and was surprised when it turned out to be tobacco. You know if this were an American show he'd have been smoking marijuana, at least, and at most running a meth lab.

, but ultimately this episode was more of the same: a simplistic mystery padded by meandering dialogue, creative visualizations, and luxurious background porn. I doubt that I'm ever going to find myself enthralled with the subject matter of the show and I don't particularly like Eru, but the rich style easily compensates for the mild deficiency in substance. I absolutely love the flights of fancy in the depiction of thoughts and memories, the animation quality is stunning, and the backgrounds with their heavy emphasis on wooden objects and saturated light are a feast for the eyes. Hyouka is a relaxing watch and I easily see myself sticking with the series to the end.

Even without Fukumoto's distinctive designs, you can tell this show is from the same people who brought you Akagi and Kaiji. It features the classic high-stakes gambling formula of having two people in a continually escalating showdown of wits with blow-by-blow commentary from their sidekicks, and has all the touches such a story needs:

Manly tears!
And an astronomically intelligent main character, who receives some loving manservice in the OP, complete with unzipped pants (NSFW?). Toua is a character in the mold of Akagi, an arrogant bastard who sees through all his opponents and obliterates them. (
) Now that he's left his solitary gambling pursuits for a professional baseball career though, his antagonizing everyone around him is going to get him into trouble, as he has to work within a team who have plenty of reasons to sabotage him. He's already gotten the owner fed up with him after tricking him into signing an unusual contract without understanding what he was getting into. I can only assume this will lead to complications in the near future, as Toua pitching perfect no-hitters forever would make for a very boring show.
The one major flaw so far is the narrator, who sadly doesn't even begin to match up to the hot-blooded passion of Kaiji's.

An imouto maid cafe? Oh my god, my heart couldn't handle all the cute. Kirie learned to love herself this episode which was all nice and stuff, though her realization at the end was kinda meh. Also there wasn't a lot of Yuuko this episode. They should correct this in the next one

Miss Yoshinoya's "modeling dance" here got me (it's about twice as fast as in the gif). Anyways, point is and always will be that Yoshinoya is "hip". Of course, no teacher has been "hip" without consequence, so the principal forces to use a normal static model for the students instead. Boooooring!
