Ano Natsu de Matteru-Complete

This is a shittier version of Toradora on multiple levels and the final episode is horrible all on its own. Where to start? The drama, drama, and drama. The whole fucking scenario feels so contrived even worse than Ano Hana in regards to the audience knowing all of this is going to end in tears and it's dragged out so long. The characters themselves really aren't that interesting except Remon who is a class A troll.
These are some unique complaints. Anime rom-coms are generally contrived, but you haven't really specified how it's contrived. Being 'predictable' isn't really the same thing.

As for it being dragged out too long - I consider it to be one the fastest paced anime romance series that I've had the fortune to watch, considering that it's only twelve episodes.

Revolutionary Girl Nanami 6

What a stupid episode. This is what filler looks like.

I don't really want to talk about it. I don't need this much Nanami in anything ever.

Maybe this was extra depressing because I switched over to the English dub out of curiosity a few times. It's pretty awful.

No, if anything there wasn't nearly enough Nanami in Utena.

Has anybody shat on Dennou Coil? Because I found Dennou Coil boring.

If we're going to air all our dirty laundry regarding beloved classics, I'll take this opportunity to say that I find Akira dull and unappealing.

Maybe Squeenix should get into the anime industry if they keep on sabotaging their franchises like they've been doing recently!

Because that worked out so well for them before.

Durarara!! 18-24

What a let down the end for this show is. The kids got a lot of screen time (though Shizu got some pretty cool scenes, at least, and Izaya trolled like a boss, one could say), what I wanted to see resolved wasn't and no answers to certain things. There was the Celty fanservice at the end of episode 24 but it's not really much.
I feel... disappointed.

Welcome to a couple of years ago. It was certainly no Baccano!.

why do people always compare Durararararararara with Baccano?
They aren't really the same. Maybe a few ways. Now I haven't seen all of durarara either but it didn't really feel the same as Baccano.

Just a heads up for anybody who was looking to buy the new Bobobo Box Set from S'more Entertainment (the same group that recently picked up Galaxy Express 999), they advertise it as a dub/sub release but there are no subtitles for the episodes. The "subs" are on a separate disc in PDF form.

Still might pick it up myself though. It's $25 for 38 episodes on 4 discs (with part 2 coming in around September). Yes 38 episodes on 4 discs. I'm sure pizzaroll is crying right now :(

Wow. Considering how many dodgy anime releases have put out by companies over the years it's surprising that no-one has resorted to doing that before.

Probably because it's a terrible idea. Getting anime fans to actually buy something rather than pirate it already takes a vast amount of good-will, this kind of thing won't do them any favours.

Durarara and Baccano share the same director, the same studio, and the same author of the original light novels. (Also similar OP structures.) It's no surprise they get compared to each other.

Wow, I must have had my head in a cave @ the convention. So many things going on and all I did was Fate Zero stuff XD

"Exclusive Interview w/ Gen Urobuchi, Atsuhiro Iwakami and Katsushi Ota"

Q: The upcoming Madoka Magica movies were announced last year. Now, are these compilation movies or all new content?

Urobuchi: The first two are compilation films while the third is an all-new story.

Iwakami: The movies are titled Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Zenpen Hajimari no Monogatari and Puella Magi Modka Magica: Kouhen Eien no Monogatari. The third film's title is undecided.

Urobuchi: The original idea was to have a concluding story within the original series but through producer Iwakami and director Akiyuki Shinbo's enthusiastic support we decided we wanted something expandable as a world and concept. We wanted to make it have more breadth and be a bridge to the world view within the series and the franchise.

What kind of enemies can we expect in the new movie? Will it feature more witches?

Iwakami: That's a secret, however I can say that aokiume has produced some very attractive designs.

Other Q/A

I guess I will have to compare them directly at some point because it didn't seem like that.
I guess I should revisit my Baccano discs (and buy Durarara if its available)

How soon we forget Final Fantasy Unlimited. It even got cancelled halfway through its run!

Also, Squenix already have their claws in the anime industry. Check the production credits on any Gangan anime adaptation - FMA, Black Butler, all those sorts of shows. Squenix publish the manga and co-produce the anime.

You're telling me you didn't feel the romance square(or whatever it is in this case) didn't feel artificial to you at all? It definitely felt forced by the writers to add a sense of drama to the entire show rather than something that naturally occurred. What adds onto this is that we never see any of their relationships form and are just given the information.

There also is some ridiculous coincidences and run-ins that were forced straight for drama purposes. People walking around town and 'randomly' running into each other.

Kaito and Ichika did move faster than normal but then we would have the other characters in which the scenarios compounded on each other. So the whole show becomes drama oriented with comedic moments interspersed inbetween.

But now comes the way that animation is defined here. CG is technically animation but not in the traditional sense. I think of hand drawn animation when I think of anime at least.
CGI is the future of anime. Cat Shit One understood that.
And The Spirits Within almost killed Square.
On the other hand, Spirits Within almost destroyed the company, so there's that.
Yeah but that was Sakaguchi's fault. An anime studio under Nomura's helm would be more in tact with the current anime market's taste.

Who handled that anyway?

It's just a hypothetical scenario where Squeenix Visual Works would get full time into the medium. I am well aware that they already have their feet a bit into the water.

Translation:

"We've made far more money of this then we were ever expecting and therefore we want to exploit this property for maximum profit rather than letting it wither.

I hear that the Evangelion guys decided to slap a whole new ending into their Rebuild series and that sounds like a great way to get fans to pony up some cash".
