I still haven't seen season 2. I can only hope it keeps up with the excellence of Season 1. But how can you top
flutterguy and Yandere fluttershy
?

So, Eureka Seven AO going to be the Daily Lives of High School Boys of this season in that the streaming sites don't grab the rights?

I suppose Eureka Seven just isn't popular enough! Or they're asking for too much money for it.

What do you think I do for 12 hours every night?
That's pretty much ALL I do for 6 days a week is work and sleep.
It sucks.

Is it wrong I really liked the OP?

If you like any part of Yami then there's something wrong with you.

A china/cat girl hybrid. Thats the deconstruction of so many things!

But a pretty worthless anime like K-on! just with weaker animations and bread instead of cakes.

As awkward as the character design is the background art in that shot is really nice. ANN says it's by Studio Easter, who have worked on quite a large number of titles. Hmmm.

For the longest time I thought people were talking about Space Bros when mentioning Apollon. How can you get from Sakamichi no Apollon to Kids on the Slope? This is bound to confuse people! They should have just named it Bebop The Second.

I loved it. It had some amazing music and it felt like Eureka 7 which is great. I did not expect they were going to use orchestrated music. The animation was also amazing and I hope they keep this kind of quality throughout.
the sequence where the G-monster was destroying things in conjunction with the music was glorious
They even did the "Tsuzuku" at the end.

One question for people who have seen Eureka Seven AO.
How much is Elena Peoples featured in the first episode? This is very important.

2 seconds, and she doesn't have any lines. However, judging from the preview, there's going to be a lot of her in the second episode.

Ao is much better than Renton.

This must be rectified!

But if she shows up at all that's a good start. Can't wait to see it.
Is the not-Renton more tolerable than actual Renton?

So far, much better, although that can still go to shit the moment he jumps in Nirvash or whatever it's going to be called.

Ao also has to deal with more shit then Renton because he is a outsider and outsiders are not well liked.

Well I'm watching the first season and 3 episodes in, it's pretty great, so I have high hopes for this. Its not that Renton is really terrible, but he's so prone to do absolutely stupid shit that it's difficult to take him seriously. I really hope that AO is slightly more sensible.

Watched it for the first time yesterday. Definitely one of my top movies of all time. Very depressing but very rewarding, shows the power of animated cinema. The tone, the smart composition and metaphorical imagery, and the music (by a member of YMO) were just perfect. Pretty much weeped during the whole second half, but I cried so hard at
The Flame of Scorpio
. And it couldn't have come at a better point of my life. What a journey, when it ended I felt the same emotional daze I did after watching works like Mind Game, Haibane Renmei, Kaiba, Tatami Galaxy and Penguindrum because they all shared dat contrast between hope and melancholy, and realized their ambitions very well.

Speaking of Mawaru Penguindrum, I was also amazed how the movie was like a comprehension guide to it. Everything from the themes to the visual metaphors (color symbolism, trains,
stars, fairy tale backgrounds, glass shards, apples, Ringo's water theme, fire as sacrifice,
and much more) of MW are present in NotGR.
And I never knew what the kids talking about apples outside of the Takakura's house scenes were about, but now I do!
Both works are very separate stories though but seeing both makes me appreciate them more I think. Anyway, now I'm all fired up for another MW run.

Very highly recommended.

I very much like these shows, so your description, if true, has me excited to see this.

[Space Brothers - 2]

Yes, I realise that I am a little slow to get around to this one. I was just letting it marinate.

The animation has certainly taken a hit this week, as compared to the opener, but I'm not really bothered in this talking-heads show. I understand that if they're going to make it a long series it certainly won't look particular consistent.

This episode was as enjoyable as last weeks, I really liked the use of audio during the interview segment. It was simple, but effective.

I look forward to more.

Yano gets alot more attention in the manga atm, and her character is shown off even more, I like it
Also what happened to Aya? But Ruka is a nice avatar.

Both.

I see. I was wondering about that because I just finished episode 20 and it's still focusing on Chizuru.
I want ChizuruxRyu to happen sooooo badly. Step it up Ryu!

I may switch back to Aya later on, but Ruka is just so adorable.

Speaking of Icarus...

I really need to get around to watching this (and everything else) but my backlog has been put on hold by the sheer volume of titles to watch this season.

Ao also has to deal with more shit then Renton because he is a outsider and outsiders are not well liked.

Ao is angrier in general. You can see that fire when he's talking with the adults but also his interactions with Naru. He's more upset with the situation compared to Renton who was more mopey. Ao is also hated more compared to Renton though, who was a celebrity because of how famous his father was.

His meeting with Renton should be interesting as I don't think it'll be pleasant.
