I've seen both series and OVA multiple times. It doesn't make a difference other than fanservice. If you know who the Shinsengumi are (like, from history and not the RK series) then it would have even less meaning.

See, I guess I just chalked that one up to "lol anime". Sure, in the real world that would be a huge problem, but this is anime, and I know that sometimes common sense goes out the window for the sake of the story (as good or bad a decision as that might be).

Another thing I noticed is that he went off with her to the amusement park right in front of his female co-worker (although you only see him giving her the tickets in front of the co-worker, you can pretty much assume they left together at that point as well). Isn't that risking getting a bad rep at the office? "So hey, I totally saw Koshiro going off to the park with a high school girl!" Or is everyone at Koshiro's workplace just used to this sort of thing because of that creepy looking guy that works there? I dunno, maybe they'll address it. Or maybe it'll just be "lol anime" again.

Like Ano Natsu? That has to be the most straightforward orthodox romance anime in recent years. It's so straightforward that it's not even a love triangle, it's a love conga line.

I just kinda assume people watched it, but maybe Maison Ikkoku?

Shounen love stories are pretty lame. Not that they don't bring a whole new set of issues with them but you should really, as a rule, turn to shoujo for the love stories.

Speaking of this (kinda...okay not really)...it's kinda strange how, in Oreimo, characters can so easily say stuff like "So you're on a date with your little sister, Kyousuke?". It's like everyone just expects it to be happening and don't find it strange at all. Like in episode 7, Manami's reaction to
Kyousuke being at a love hotel with Kirino isn't anything like you'd expect a rational person's reaction to such a thing to be
.

I don't know...just kinda gets me, I guess. Along with hearing about how, later in the series,
the parents are basically cool with it or something

Koganeiro is really the only good shounen love story I can think of. It managed to accomplish in 3 chapters what most love stories take 50+ to achieve, if at all.

Well, time to finally re-watch Whisper of the Heart.

Because I have more free time than ever there are a couple of long shows I'd like to get through in the next two months (Votoms; Jewelpet Kira Deco; Clannad After Story; Windy Tales) along with a few movies I want to revisit (GitS; GitS: Innocence; Whisper of the Heart; Mind Game).

And finally catch up on Gintama.

Our protagonist catches a glance of predetermined winner of the show on a fast moving train going at high speeds. Over what appears to be 200 feet away.​

Ichika's 5' 3"? SHIT YEAH SHE'S MY HEIGHT, VICTORY!!​

Oh wow the breast physics in this show are clearly visible. Aww, Ichika's blushing already with our protag. And she already wants to get involved closely with protag-san. Sweet, everything's in place. I really don't want this series to beat around the bush the rest of the time, though. I don't know if I can handle that for a while.

Something clearly wrong has happened in the opening scene, and Ichika's involved with it. I wonder if that means if she has the hots for him already, or something else.

"Oh, Kaito-kun." - Not-Asuna being in the right place at the right time.​

I love the little fantasies protag-san has. -- oh shit it's really going on OMG. And then he's just going to send her away because hawkwardness with his sister. ...wait, leaving her outside averted? Aww yiss. Aaaaand the obligatory shower scene. Thank you for this.

And now we're going to deal a little bit with the nature of the series. Oh gosh yes she's some kind of future person. --

OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH IT HAPPENED IT FUCKING HAPPENED​

This is exactly the show I needed right now. This is the show I wanted. I have found paradise in an anime.

No english dub. Artwork is kinda poor. Really shooting for that occasional ecchi shit, lazy animation at times (there was one shot of the main character, Sana, just walking around a corner of a building and they felt it was good to just basically draw four frames of him at different positions and just do fade transitions on him to "simulate" motion. Why.), bland soundtrack, annoying seiyu. Also, you setup the premise of Sana returning to live in his hometown after 5 years absent with a flash back of a party with all his old friends and you basically spend the whole first episode only re-introducing him to basically one of them? That's not a very good start.

Bleh. Next.

Toradora! 1

No english dub, also, but a lot better in the music and artwork department. They really like that "hey, I know this is an animation so it's not really a fisheye lens but hey look a fisheye lens!" effect, huh? I like this gag of him looking mean/evil (is this an occasional gag/thing in anime/manga? I remember it being used to the same effect when I read Karin a while back). Much better start. Show might a bit too weird and wacky for my tastes, but I'm not hating it so far.

Ever since Toradora aired I think they popularized the whole eyes make the character unapproachable gag. Not sure if Toradora was the first to do this but it definitely popularized it.

Myself;Yourself I watched the whole thing recently. It has a pretty deep story once you get to the end where it comes to its climax. I wouldn't recommend it though since it has a whole lot of stupid stuff that happens in between the main conflict in the story. For example the two twins
leave the town so they can be together, not sure if by lovers but I know they left town together.

, meanwhile, it turns out that the main villain is like, from Outer Space? I don't know, Lina beats up Gourry before he can ask for us what the Over World is, so I got no idea. Whatever the case, Almayce isn't from around here. Also I guess the Sword of Light was made by a Dark Lord? Uh, why does it seem sometimes that the EVIL forces in the Slayers universe are hilariously more powerful than the good?

Also, last episode it was revealed that Lina's sister is a Knight of Cepheid. You know, the King of the Gods and Dragons. And that she wields His power. So Lina's sister, who is apparently stronger than Lina, in spite of wielding a lesser power (Golden Lord > King of the Gods), is a Holy Knight who has recently cross-classed to part-time waitress. This is how Slayers rolls: part time waitress is a legit job class.

Also the opening always points to this girl behind Lina and says "Sorry, OP only". Who is this?
