Spring Anime 2016 |OT| Get a Season So Complicated

I think they should show you what the rock actually looks like at the start of next episode. If not, it's in the ED.

This is it?

G79Hvib.jpg

That's more understandable as a slightly creepy but not totally alarming rock.

Remember, this is a comedy. :p

Sure, I'm not taking this seriously, but this discrepancy just seems lame and not particularly funny. It's typical horror cast stupidity.

Ouran Stray Dogs - Episode 2

Some stuff might have happened. There were good cartoon faces and expressions. Still better than My Hero Academia. Whether it's a good show is anyone's guesstimation.

Not sure if this is new, but you can request vendors to reissue DVDs and Blu-ray's including requesting English subtitles and digital versions on Prime Video on Amazon Japan.

I don't understand how this works. Does it allow you to request a certain edition of a BD that has English subtitles, or is it requesting them to produce a new version of the BD with subtitles? The former makes more sense to me.

It's just a feedback form. It gives Amazon customers an easy way to directly tell publishers what content they want. It doesn't mean anything will be done with the feedback, it depends on the publishers.

Oh, I see. Is it just feedback to the publishers, or feedback for particular products? Would be nice if more BDs end up having English subtitles because of this, but we'll see.

Netoge episode 2

So basically what I've gathered from this episode is:
Its not a harem.
Ako has some serious problems.

Not a fan of the art style or how the animation is sometimes, but I don't hate the series so far. I'll keep watching i guess.

From the New World 12

The first portion of this episode was better at being an exposition dump than episode 4 was. This was partly because the material was given more personal relevance, both in what we saw happen to Shun and in what the Ethics Committee head personally witnessed in her past, and partly because the visual execution was simply stronger. I definitely come away from this with a much fuller understanding of how society developed to become the way it is now. Basically it's the "never again" approach you see after large-scale tragedies such as World War II, only executed much more thoroughly and effectively by a leadership which is mostly of one mind.

The second portion wasn't quite as good - Ishihama's habit of fading to black still annoys me, especially when it's done in such rapid succession, and devoting so much time to Satoru coming up with an excuse to get rid of Ryou made the overall timing feel unbalanced. But it got its job done.

It's a feedback form for specific titles which already exist in some form. You need the product code, and you select what you want to request on the form. So you're telling the publisher that for a given existing product, you would like them to add a feature (JP dub, JP sub, EN sub) or that you would like them to support a certain distribution format (DVD version, BD version, put it on Prime). The form is also used for requesting reprinting of out of print titles.

Ah, I see! Hopefully something good will come of this.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to request some BDs of Paradise Kiss with English subtitles.

This show is a touch creepier than I thought it would be. Is there a conspiracy going on to harvest their misfortune? I like the main character, and I want to see what the other two characters are like, so this is a keeper.

Ako has some serious issues going on in her life. Something related to a hikikomori, except being able to go outside most of the time? Either way, scary girl. President sure is passionate about this. Segawa and Nishimura have an appreciation for specs. I don't care for MMOs, but I am enjoying this way more than I normally would. I had a good feeling about this during the previews, and it's holding up better than I thought it would. No idea why, but I genuinely like this.

My Bride is a Mermaid ep.9-11
Holy shit, this show is friggen' crazy as hell. I generally really dislike episodic series, but this is hilarious. How do they come up with this stuff. They had a Terminator 2 parody with Lunar's dad weilding a shotgun, then slowly sinking into the incinorator with the thumbs up... Then Nagasumi finds the mermaid porn in Sun's dad's box and watches it with his dad "this is fettish level stuff." Then, they try using a submarine to stop him by ramming the giant Nagasaki in the balls with it and his mom is worried about his "little guy" (that was on a rampage of its own earlier) Such crazy a wacky shit that's perfect in spurts.. This is excellent!

Was bored today so I checked out some shows from the Winter season that ended and decided to watch Ajin. Even with it's various errors it's a solid show. Does anyone know if there'll be a second season?

Aniplex handles both the US and JP regions for Monogatari, right? I know it's pretty unlikely, but I'd gladly spend some time to ask them to subtitle the commentary tracks for seasons besides Bake, since maybe other people want that as well and the feedback might help make it so that they don't just drop the audio tracks altogether for the international releases.

Don't know, but I'd recommend checking out the manga anyway. There is a bunch changed for obvious reasons even in what the anime covered. The art's pretty decent too.

This form would be sent to Aniplex of Japan though (presumably, if I'm understanding it right), while you're referring to Aniplex of America's releases. You'd need to try and get through to the latter for anything involving North American releases.

Maybe if enough people wrote in regarding AoJ's products, we would get more subtitles on their Japanese releases (that AoA would offer as imports), and maybe even subtitled commentaries if we're extremely lucky! If anything, this survey gives us a chance to try and pursue some of our dream releases. Might as well give it a shot and write in; there's nothing to lose!

Bungo Stray Dogs: 2
That was a predictable and really annoying episode.
I have never been fond of the whole this was a test all along trope.
And it is especially bad because I saw it coming too far away, robbing the episode of any tension. Even if it were successfully executed I would have been annoyed by it anyways. At least I enjoyed some of the comedy and interactions.

Agreed 100%. It's like I said, it has gone down a few places on my list. I enjoyed episode 1, didn't love it, but episode 2 was a step back from the first one in my opinion. I too am gonna see how things go, but as is I'm sorta iffy on the show.

A question asked elsewhere, what are the origins of anime radio dramas? how are they still a thing? The last vestiges of a radiodrama culture in Japan?

I don't think she's scary at all, just clingy and afraid she's going to be left behind again.

Remember how the main villain in Hackers rode around on a skateboard despite looking like a 35 year old amatuer magician?

Hack the planet!

You're right, I would. In fact, I heard everyone else championing that when this show first aired as well.

Unfortunately, it's almost everything else I heard about the show that makes me skeptical. So I'll stick with Star Driver for now. :p

Yet when we told you Comet Lucifer would be bad....
